Mass Effect Legacy Audio Drama : Pilot Episode

Mass Effect Legacy Audio Drama : Pilot Episode

Project Overview

THIS CASTING CALL IS NOW CLOSED! THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO AUDITIONED! :)

--- --- ---

Mass Effect: Legacy is an audio drama podcast series written, produced and edited by Adam Chapman, the mind behind OvertaleRPG and the audio editor for the From The Outside Inn podcast series, and co-written by Xeno-Sapian, the immensely-talented author behind A Matter of Race and Character. In order to bring this series to life, I am now looking for talented voice actors who can bring the wonders of the Mass Effect universe to life in audio form!

Each individual episode will feature a different cast of characters at varying points within the Mass Effect timeline and universe. As an audio drama, no narrator is present - instead, the story and setting is established through sound effects, character dialogue and music. To this end, Mass Effect: Legacy will feature an original soundtrack composed and produced by the highly talented Alex Hull, in addition to existing tracks from the Mass Effect trilogy OST.

This particular episode, the pilot, will follow the story of Kenri, a Staff Sergeant in the 26th Armiger Legion, during the later stages of the 2186 Reaper Invasion War.

New to voice acting or want some advice? Check out CDawgVA's video here for some pointers ; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jl5-j4eR7xU

-- Publishing Formats --

Each episode is anticipated to take anywhere between one to two months to fully produce. Upon completion, episodes will be uploaded to a specific SoundCloud and the Adameme YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC3gQ9u69H6teo7-U3wIerQQ). Each voice actor will be credited with both audio recognition and links to your social media of choice in the description. If the series proves popular enough, we may even be able to get it offered in iTunes and/or Google Play as a free podcast!

-- Audition Requirements --

- Please ensure that your mic is of at least decent quality. Use of a pop filter will be viewed very favourably. Minimal background noise and clear clarity are great!

- Please do not place music in your audition. Doing so will result in your audition being declined.

- Please do not apply sound effects or voice filters (such as flanging) to your clips if auditioning for a certain species, e.g. Turian, Quarian, Volus, etc. I'd like to just hear your voice as-is! :)

- Delivery and realistic expression of emotion will be very highly valued.

- Provided they are able to meet all other listed requirements, voice acting beginners and novices are welcome!

-- Deadlines --

- Auditions closed on July 10th. Any auditions submitted now will be automatically declined.

- Selected voice actors will be sent their lines on the 17th to be recorded and sent back by July 25th. This is so any tweaks/adjustments can be make before the audio editing stage begins on July 26th. The full script, including all characters' lines and stage directions, is 57 pages long.

Role assigned to: harbinger

- A young turian soldier, tired and somewhat frustrated with his limited job position as a Bay Supervisor on the Citadel.

- Name pronunciation ; [ you - lo - tek ]

  • [ official tone ] "Staff Sergeant Leravan? Corporal Uilotek, 47th Battalion Artificer Corps, Bay Supervisor. I'm here to escort you to the shuttle."

  • [ responding to a question ] "What with our theatres of war getting messier with each passing day, most of our comissioned officers are finding themselves redeployed to anywhere where fighting's at it's thickest - that, of course, leaves all the "less important" jobs to senior or experienced NCOs... such as myself."

  • [ gossiping somewhat ] "Make sure you avoid Deck 12 once you're on-board. Some asari diplomat's visiting - think her name was "something-J'Suri". Got some pretty, uhh, WACKO ideas, if you ask me. Thinks we should try to APPEASE the Reapers with gifts. I mean, you didn't hear this from me, but I think she's hardly doing her part to support her sisters on Thessia right now."

  • "When it comes down to the latest and greatest in destructive power, high-function ballistics modification and widely-compatible Jhikkon technology, nothing beats the stylish versitility of the M-6 Carnifex. Armax Arsenal - don't you wish Carnifex was on your side?"

  • "When medical interface requisitions aren't up to spec for the roughest of field duties, servicemen and women can always rely on Sirta Foundation's latest groundbreaking Active Reboundment technologies to get them back in the fight when those setbacks strike. - Voice should carry seasoned authority, but should not be unkind in tone.

  • "Imagine you had to have your squad leader switched every five minutes because each one keeps ordering you to fire on your own squadmates. It would wreck unit cohesion. That’s how much needless discord this threat can easily cause us - that's why Blackwatch got involved."

  • "That would be impractical, both to you and the other fireteams. I would suggest a largely cautious approach."

  • "I believe you're already aquainted with Sergeant Phodros?"

  • "Flying fighters was my dream for a long time. I visited Camp Khettyit during my Pilgrimage - you know, the Salarian one?" [ passionately ] "Got to see their LK9 Mealot fighters in action. They were just absolutely wonderful to watch, the handling was so graceful..."

  • "Sierra Zulu, this is Sierra 1. I'm seeing unidentified movement... bipedal target, 430 metres. Western colony. Please advise."

- A highly confident and assertive military tactician. She should sound bold, in-control and calm.

  • "That depends on the ground presence. Any more than five when intel's dicey and you wanna back off. Singularities have a nasty habit of being quite obnoxious, both in visual and audial terms. They don't often go unnoticed."

  • [ disapprovingly ] "Are you really going to carry that bulky hunk of metal for the next six hours? WITHOUT whining about the weight?"

  • [ quietly, focused ] "Two targets... one o'clock. Three metres left of the Serrice Council sign, you got him?"
