Project Overview
Introduction
Hello! This casting call is for an upcoming Halloween game in Minecraft to be released around Halloween of 2020. We are creators of some of the most popular games in Minecraft, such as Cops and Robbers with over 5 million downloads. This story tells the tale of 5 friends who venture into a haunted story and the player (the 5th silent character in our story) must complete a series of puzzles to help everyone escape from the story. This is an original story and production.
We are casting for a total of four voices to be used at the beginning of the game for the first major cutscene. Anyone cast for main roles will need to be available for group calls with all voice actors and our animators and story writers to perfect the storyline. These calls will take place in Discord, so please make sure you are available. Our team is based in the United Kingdom, but we have a smaller studio in the United States, so we can flexibly host these calls in BST and EST time zones.
All roles are in the English language. Voice actors must be comfortable using the language/vernacular of current American teenagers.
For the roles, we are paying $100 per character for the project. All payments are made through Paypal or Bank Transfer via Transferwise.
Voice Actors will be credited on our website as well as getting to have an Easter-egg (individual reference) within the game.
Deadlines and Auditions
The deadline for auditions is the 31st of July 2020. There are currently no plans to extend this deadline as we are on a rather short deadline to meet a release time of Halloween 2020. We need to receive all lines back from voice actors by August 14th, 2020. This is a hard deadline if you are unable to record and join group rehearsals during the time of 1st – 14th of August then please do not audition.
What to expect
You should expect to be welcomed to our small studio. We have 15 employees (although we are more like a family). At this point, you will be part of our family too where you’ll get to interact with our team, all of whom are highly creative and love working and offering advice on creative projects.
We communicate primarily on Discord. If you are unfamiliar with this application, you can still audition, however, we really, strongly insist that you use it for this project to allow all voice actors to communicate and have a table read of the script together.
What we ask of you
- The most important thing for us is that you have fun. We pride ourselves on the fact that we get to wake up everyday and create games for millions of play and we hope you will too!
- Please make sure to submit clean recordings on prosumer mics (no background noise – we don’t mind performing noise reduction on recordings) Please let us handle the post-production. Don’t add effects to your lines.
- Feel free to cut and edit your favorite lines. We love having a few options available to us, but please remove the ones you don’t want us to use to save us time in the future!
- Please submit voice recordings as a .wav file to us. Other formats have degraded quality and compression. We will work with casted members to get them to us!
- We do occasionally ask for re-dos. We will only do this if we absolutely have to and will attempt to fix in post-production before making you spend extra time fixing the issue!
- Lastly, we are incredibly fortunate to be always working on new IP and bringing back old popular IP. If you are cast, we would love it if you are able to stick around for the long run, and should we bring your character back in a future game, we would love for you to be part of that journey!

*Which means… no taking your hands off the board, not until the spirit says “Goodbye”. If we let go of the board, we could release the spirit into this world.*
Katie can be described as a curious person, she always wants to know what you are up to and what's behind each door. But, she is also rather uncaring towards others and will often treat people indifferently.

Liz is an emotional and overdramatic spirit. Best described as the center of attention, and if she's not the center she's going to get there!
