Lycanthrope

Lycanthrope

Project Overview

Lycanthrope is a short story I wrote that I would like to see voiced! It's about a paranormal investigator who goes into a town to rid it from an lycanthrope (werewolf). I'm trying to learn how to do audio editing, so I want to use this as experience for me and some actors who want to exploit their talents! The end result will most likely go on youtube, soundcloud/bandcamp and/or somewhere else as a non-profit story for people to enjoy :D

Things you should know:

*I will most likely be getting together with the chosen actors on Discord, it's free, easy to use and light on cpu.

*I will keep auditions up until the deadline unless I find a perfect actor for the role.

*Low background noise is preferable, and medium is tolerable. Please do not submit clips with too much background noise.

*If you audition, make sure you have the time to do the voicing of the character you chose.

*If you do not feel comfortable submitting clips here, send the audio files in a zipped folder to [redacted]

*The full story is on Google Drive to read at your leisure.   https://docs.google.com/document/d/1iDAnta_YkkDuoS_VSnyBAbQVh5R9Q0FqtcD77ZEBQ9g/edit?usp=sharing

*The story is still having some finishing edits done to it, so if you notice a typo or a grammatical issue, please email me so I can sort it out.

*I will need to contact you if you are chosen, so please give me an email so I can get a hold of you if you get chosen for a role.

*Some smaller roles may be completed simply by the audition. If you still want into the Discord group, that is possible as we may need backups or another fun addition to the group :D

*Please say all of the lines in the audition.

*You may play (audition for) multiple roles.

*You may notice that none of the characters have portraits. If you feel like making art for them, you can send it to me and I may put it up.

*So good

*I may add more of these things later.

EDIT:

Thank you all for auditioning! I can't wait to get started on this!

Narrator

As there is narration, there will need to be a narrator of sorts. There will most likely be no need for the narrator to tell what tone of voice the characters are speaking in as the characters will be voiced. Do what you think best fits the story.

  • Line 1: He'd dealt with vampires, ghosts, a corrupt deity and various other supernatural situations, but this was his first major lycanthrope case that he'd worked on without help.

  • Line 2:  He fell to the ground in fear as a horrific beast with the form of a man, but the features of a wolf barged out of the house.

  • Line 3: He woke up and darted his eyes around the room. The door had been tampered with and the bell was lying on the floor.

Stanley Crimson is the paranormal investigator hired by the town. He has been trained in their craft and due to his numerous exploits, he is personable and well voiced in social situations. Near the end, he becomes stressed and nervous, this side also needs to be protrayed. He is generally confident and calm and his smooth voice protrays that. He is one of the two main characters.

  • Line 1: We'll be armed with iron rods. If a lycan comes out, we'll hit it on the head to free them from their curse. (Serious, speaking as if reharsed)

  • Line 2: Did you hear that? (Whispering, excited and tense tone)

  • Line 3: I don't know, the whole ordeal just caught me off guard (Stressed, defeated, soft tone)

Anthony Grottoli is paired with the surprisingly silent Pierre Huot (Husband of Joanne Huot) and is the only one of which who talks. If you think a vocal version would be better with the frenchman, Pierre doing the talking, or both, be my gues and do the three lines however you wish. Anthony is skeptical about Stanley's methods, but accepts them as he is the professional.

  • Line 1: Where are the silver blades? (Questioningly)

  • Line 2: Are you alright? (Tired from running, stimulated and restless)

  • Line 3: O-okay... Have a good night... (Confused and caught off gaurd)

Daniel Sears owns the general store in the town. He does not feel confident going up against a lycanthrope due to his pacifist nature. He is friendly and generally soft spoken. He knows everyone in the town quite well. Near the end, another side of him, a "coach"-like side comes out. His voice is up to your decision, play them as you see fit from reading the story. He is the second of the main characters.

  • Line 1: That's the third one this week (solemn tone)

  • Line 2: Are you sure it's not just a clock and someone getting up to use the restroom? (Whispering, anxious and somewhat stimulated tone.)

  • Line 3: You can't be prepared for everything! Life sometimes throws us off guard and we need to get through it! (Exasperated, powerful and inspiring tone.)

Role assigned to: Jacob M. Keene

Alfred Durham is the mayor of the town. He is rough and hardy with a genuine quality about him. He is informal and likes too keep things as light and optimistic as possible.. in his own way. He has a rough and tough voice, however not angry. He gets to the point. He could have anywhere from a middleage to senior voice.

  • Line 1: So what's the plan Stan? (Hardy tone)

  • Line 2: We'll need three able-bodied people to go with him. Two per house.

  • Line 3:Stan, Tony, Daniel and Pierre, meet here at 9:00, don't be late.

Erin Joenson and Joanne Huot are in the meeting that starts the story. I may have them voiced by different people, or not. How you interpret them is up to you :D

  • Line 1: At this rate, the whole town will be empty by the end of the month! (Passsionate anger and sadness) (Erin)

  • Line 2: Hush Marie, he's only trying to help! (Scornfully) (Joanne)

The Lycanthrope

Role assigned to: emmyvoice

This role is mostly for the effects, the snarling, the growling, the noise a lycan would make while getting hit by an iron bar. I feel it's necessary, so if you thnk you can do it, put in an audition!

  • Line 1: (Snarl)

  • Line 2: (Roar)

  • Line 3: (An awful, ear piercing howl)

Marie Pearson

Role assigned to: yunoe

Marie Pearson is a widow due to the lycanthrope. She has become bitter and angry from the incident and puts the blame on the investigator since it's something she didn't want the town to do. I could see Marie being anywhere from a youn adult to senior range, however not too young, as she had her husband for quite a while. The character needs to be blunt and bitter, however has a line of desperate apology.

  • Line 1: Damn lycans and their curse, if my husband were still here, he would have done something about it, not hire that worthless investigator! (Angrily spoken, accusational)

  • Line 2: You're as worthless as I thought, (Condescending, firm tone)

  • Line 3: I-I didn't mean it that way! (Trying to take back what's been said, desperate tone)
