Lil' Char and the Gang Dub!
Project Overview
ABOUT:
Hey gang, I got a Pokemon Comic dub for you all. It's the infamous Lil' Char and the Gang. It's a sweet parody-like comic centering around a young Charmander, Squirtle and Bulbasaur who hang out and have little misadventures. It does have some darker themes, but still manages to have a sweet and fun atmosphere around it.
I want to do a simple dub of it, doing a couple of pages at a time, to post on my Youtube, So, I'm looking for people like you to bring these babies to life!
Auditioning Rules:
- Please have a decent sound. It doesn't have to be professional level, but please don't record auditions on your phone and call it good. I want to make this sound as best as possible!
- Have fun, of course the Pokemon have "official canon" voices from the anime, however if you feel you can bring something better to the table, please do!
- You can re-audition at any point, but please delete your original audition once you upload the new one.
- Please have a Discord, as that is how I want to be able to reach you.
- You may audition for any and all roles that you wish, but be warned that the main cast (the main trio and their families) voice actors will likely only have those roles, as I want to keep their voices unique and the same.
There are a LOT of extra roles, so feel free to have a go at them.

Charmander is a fun loving little lizard who loves to hang out with his friends Bulbasaur and Charmander. Despite his childlike attitude towards life, he is kind of the voice of reason here.
Now, Charmander is supposed to be around 7 years old in this comic. I'm not looking for an overly childish voice, but he should definitely sound young.

"Oh no, I don't know well enough if that's how it works or not. Maybe you're right?"
Squirtle is a silly turtle pokemon who is very go with the flow. He's very emotive, ranging from frantic to being able to laugh it off in a heart beat.
He is supposed to be about 7 years old in this comic. I'm not looking for an overly childish voice here, but he does need to sound young.

"The falling leaves that you get to step on... Hot chocolate and marshmallows! Pumpkin everything!"
"I will miss Bulbasaur when he dies though."
"He's part plant at least, right? So does that part die then?"
Bulbasaur is the baby of the group. Charmander and Squirtle are around 7, however Bulbasaur here is more around 4. He's very emotive, and can supposedly communicate, but for us, all he says is "Bulba", or "Buh".
So since Bulbasaur is so young, I will definitely need a young voice, though I'm not looking for a voice that hits the rafters in pitch.

"Buh! BuhBuh Buh!" (A greeting, as if he is saying Hey! What's Up?)
"Buuuuuuhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh" (Crying intensely, after being asked if you will die in the Fall as a plant-type)
(I am opening the last bit for actors to convey any range of emotions, but you MUST have it be in Bulba-speak)
Ivysaur is the older sister of Bulbasaur. She means well, and is a fantastic older sister to Bulbasaur, but she does have a pranking side. In the first chapter, she convinces the other kids that Bulbasaurs need to be buried during the winter.
Ivysaur is meant to be a teenager, so I will be looking for a more natural speaking voice.
This role is one of the few reoccuring, so please be prepared to be in this project for the long run.

Charmeleon is a piece of work. He is the older brother to Charmander. He is constantly pranking, constantly trying to spook the younger kids.
Charmeleon is a lot more expressive than his friends, so I need someone who can hit those ranges.
This role is also a reoccuring one, so please be ready to be here for the long run in it.

Wartotle is the too cool for school older sister of Squirtle. She is kind of the stereotypical cool older sister, however she does legitimately care about her family.
Wartotle is a teenager, so a natural sounding voice would be great.
This role is a reoccuring one, so please be ready for the long run on this one.

Charizard is the father of Charmander and Charmeleon. He means well, but he often can be found caring so little that he almost hurts. He is prideful, and spiteful, so you better not cross him.

Charizard is the father figure, so a more mature voice is what I am looking for.
This role is reoccuring so I need someone who will be here for the long run.

Venusaur is Ivysaur's father, and Bulbasaur's uncle. Regardless, he does his best to be a good father to both. He is the kind of guy who is just happy to be here, and doesn't even blink at Bulbasaur's shenanigans.
Venusaur is an adult, so a more mature sounding voice is a must. I personally imagine him as kind of monotone, but you give me what you think fits him best.
This role is a reoccuring one, so I need someone who will be here for the long run.

Blastoise is the best dad, he's sappy, caring and does his best. He is Wartotle and Squirtle's adoptive dad, and does his best to make sure they are happy, healthy and safe.
Since he is the father, he does need a more mature sounding voice.
THIS role is reoccurring so I will need someone who will be here for the long run.

Gengar is a ghost haunting the abandoned house that the main trio decided to enter. He is constantly trying to one up his brothers in scaring people the most, and the most often. He takes scaring very seriously.
I would like a voice that can turn from relatively normal to scary and intimidating in a split second.
Gengar, so far, is only seen in the Haunted House arc, so this will be a shorter role.

Haunter is the middle brother of ghosts, who helps Gengar try and spook the main trio. He however gets the short end of the stick often, and isn't afraid to vocalize his feelings about it.
For Haunter, I would like a voice that can go from normal to spooky, as the tone needs.
Optional: Can you add a sinister laugh to your audition?
This role, so far, is only for the Haunted House arc, so his appearance will be brief.

Ghastly is the youngest of the ghost brothers. While he wants to help his brothers, he is super insecure, taking Gengar's throw-away insults to heart.
Ghastly doesn't really get to be spooky, but if you want him to sound a little spooky, you wouldn't hear me complaining.

Zubat is a little cute devil, who was trapped by the Ghost Brothers, and is out for revenge.
Zubat is undefined in gender, so I'm willing to hear anyone out on it.
This role, so far, is defined only to the Haunted House arc, so the role is minor.

Articuno, along with the other Legandary birds make some rare appearances.
She is calm, and collected, often the sensible one fo the group.

Moltres is a piece of work. He isn't afraid to be himself. Too bad, "himself" is someone who is reaaaallllyyyy annoying. He thinks he is awesome, but that's up to interpretation.
Moltres is more of a cameo role, who appears now and then.

"I hear what you're saying and frankly I'm insulted. I'm not just some garden-variety fire-type who can't control their flames around dead trees. I'm MOLTRES."
Growlithe is a wild child, who wants to be, and might just be, better than you. As expected from a fire type, she is a wild spirit with a lot of gusto.
Growlithe is a smaller role, as she is only, so far, in the Cave arc.

"HEY CHAR" (For this I would like one in the voice you are auditioning, and one more like a roar, as Growlithe's are known to roar and this girl wants to be heard)

"We're pretty sure a crazy hobo lives there, so it's gonna be awesome."
Growlithe's partner in imaginary crime. The two fire types feed off of each other like moths to flames. He is always down for thrills and wants to continue the awesome party.
Flareon, so far, is only in the Cave arc, so it will be a smaller role.

Clefairy is a jaded old man who just wants some piece and quiet. Unfortunately for him, child exist and for this story, they are the main characters.
Think Phil from Disney's Hercules, he wants solitude, but he does develop a small soft spot for a few of the kids.
Clefairy is both in the Cave arc, and the newest one, Rock Facts, so you will have a slightly larger role than say, Growlithe/Flareon or the Ghost Brothers.
