Light of a Guardian Pilot

Story:
Opal Clareandare always knew she’d become the next Queen of Vara (Var-a), but that wasn’t meant to happen so soon. As her mother goes off on a mysterious quest, Opal’s entire life changes, from a pleasurable life shared with her friends to being in the middle of an intergenerational war. She finds herself unwillingly in the center of what her parents started, more crucial to the story than she could ever comprehend. Follow her, her friend and the people they meet along the way as they face a shifting world and an ever-growing threat.
Requirements and Notes:
This is a casting call for specifically the pilot. Your role is not guaranteed for a variety of reasons, and this is a trial period for both the actors and the directors.
Please submit auditions in AAA BBB CCC style
The recording deadline is a week (7 days) and is strict due to the nature of this project.
All actors must attend a "table read" of the pilot episode - negotiated and scheduled once cast.
There will be a live talk-back, and the actors' attendance is suggested and would be appreciated. More details once cast.
YOU MUST be 14 years old or older.
Please have good audio quality. If your audition has blurriness or background noise in it, you will not be considered for the role you auditioned for.
We may ask you to retake many lines. Please be willing to do so.

These are all unpaid roles. If we ever get to the point that the project makes money, we will distribute the profits with the entire team in regards to their roles and the number of lines they have done.

(Relaxed, Content) The two brothers are relaxing in the training grounds after sparring for a bit. Talking about miscellaneous things, both important and not.
(Fast Paced, Narrating Fight scene) Justin throws another impressive blow. Ryan stumbles back into the bar counter before throwing one of his own. His hit misses. Justin tries for another but instead grabs his opentents shirt. Ryan takes the opportunity trying again to hit him. Landing each one of his swift punches.
(Dialogue, Conversational, Bargaining) It’ll return to me once you’re done with it; but as a condition to seeing this, you need to help me further.
Personality:
She’s the Princess of Vara, rather spontaneous and sweet. She has a rebellious side to her and tends to fall into it. Trying to keep her head on her shoulders she is logical and rational while still being emotional. She tries to treat others how she wishes to be treated.

(Sorrow, Bittersweet, Grief) I wish he was here to witness this; I am sure he would’ve rather had a book in hand than to actually come… but it would’ve been nice.
(Determined, Reckless) You know what- (Pause) Let me know if there is something I can do, because to your surprise, I will do anything to get him back.
Personality:
Thought of as cocky. He is lawfully good and was trained as a knight in Vara. He is an orphan peasant who was found by the royal family of Vara (Queen Elinna, King Christopher, and Princess Opal), who took him in and raised him alongside Opal as a ward. The thing he cares about the most is Opal.

(Argument, Mocking, ‘Are you stupid’ kind of moment) And Henry?! You’ve barely had any ‘feelings’ about him and we thought he was dead!
Personality:
Ingrid is our lead villain; she used to be really sweet and pure, but with everything seemingly turned against her has become twisted. She’s actually mentally sick due to time travel. She’s meritorious, scheming and evil. Think a disney villain on steroids.

(Twisted, Unattached, Being Strategic) - Completely Broken No, that’s not all - Rachel has proven that she’s incapible of, well… anything at this point. I want you to give her that helping hand; set things in motion.
( Losing her mind, Going Crazy, Last strand of sanity) - Shattering So it’s alright - I know how strong you are, how flawed you are. I will still love you after this mistake, it doesn’t change anything.
(Soft, Caring, Sweet) - Whole Could Sir Clare- I mean, Sir Christopher stay at the castle for the meantime? We wouldn’t want to send him right back, would we?
Personality:
He's a bit brat-like sometimes but generally a little socially awkward. He’s the second son of the Galfring household, making him a royal. He loves books and tends to prefer to read. He’s warming up as a person, though.

(Admiring, Appeasing, Comforting I saw what you did in there. Storming out of that council meeting - that took some guts.
(Esentric, Criticing) I feel like she’s brain washed out. Is that in her power… no, it couldn’t be… has she brainwashed me into brainwashing you?!
(Appaled, Upset, Disgusted) That’s not funny. That’s downright insensitive. You’re telling me they pulled you into that meeting - at the crack of dawn, not even acknowledging the grief you’re facing?
Personality:
She’s quick to stand her ground and yell when she’s comfortable. She is also quite smart and picks up on things easily and has a strong belief when it comes to what’s right. She likes to challenge beliefs, but as her best friend and twin brother Henry is such a bookworm, she never seems to leave the castle.
Notes:Semi deep voice, loud, but gets timid when nervous.
Princess of Geaef (Gar-if)

(Angry, Sassy) No, I don’t understand. I really don’t. Sorry that you can’t pick up on my thing called sarcasm.
Personality:
Having a past full of the want for adventure, she settles down and has a family, becoming more calm in nature and motherly. She’s a soft and fair ruler, but she can struggle with her desire for justice and to keep calm.

(Mentally holding back, very sad, but staying strong) I am so sorry, Christopher. I wish there was more that I could do… but…
(Young Voice, hushed, worried) Either way, can we just hurry? I don’t want to be caught by the guards.
(Determined, concise) It’s what had to be done. I want to protect my family and I will pay any cost for that.
Personality:
Christopher is knowledgeable, and one of the big things he believes in is family. He’s all for it, wanting to have his own children and wife and being there. He’s a noble who likes to read but lives in the woods, raising his best friend's royal son away from the public and other things.
Notes:Deeper voice, still slightly in the medium range. Studious and serious but at the same time calming and soft.

(Pressing, Worried, Outspoken) That should be a worry for today. What do we do? What if it happens, how would we explain it to the world, how would we prepare the world?
(Narrating to himself) View only fades back in when I am woken, and I am woken by a young woman. Brown hair with her bangs pulled back, blue eyes, a few freckles on the bridge of her nose, it’s a button nose. She’s quite charming, if I say so myself.
Personality
Faith is energetic and happy even though her past is painted with death. She can often be seen as oblivious even though she’s just trying to keep looking at the world the way she sees it. She tries so hard to keep up the front of laughs and hold her friends together. She is a lovely person and loyal to the point where she fears change.

(Defensive, Self-righteous, Argument) Can’t I deal with my own problems outside of this relationship? Can’t I question things because of external reasons? Or am I expected to only have one thing going on: this relationship.
Personality:
Justin is the odd one out; he’s very insecure about who he is after being told he’s worthless for the majority of his life. He is a noble by birth and is always living in the shadows of his twin brother (Joshua), at least with his parents. He was happy to get away, falling in love with the young Faith. He tries to voice his opinions but doesn’t always know how. He tends to be quick to act and always wants a challenge, even when he knows he can’t win.

(Standing up for himself, Angry) You can insult me all you want, but that woman, even though she’s made mistakes, deserves to be treated well. After all, she’s the mother of your children, let alone, she puts up with you.
Personality:
Rachel is most of the time seen as a little Ingrid. She’s not a villain by any means, but because she has been raised that way she tends to come across like that. She cares about two things, her sister and approval after being treated like shit and not being good enough for her stepmother.

(Frightened, Taking risk, Hesitant) Mother, I don’t mean to question your judgement, but I believe there are things even you can’t do.
Personality:
Edgy. He is edgy. Elijah is a teen, it’s expected but he has even more of a reason. Losing his family before he can even remember, he gets taken in by the villain, hating her from the start and blaming her for the removal from his parents - even though he doesn’t know what happened. He is actually a really good kid, just grew up in not the best situation.
