Project Overview
Hey! I'm ItWasRed representing the Let's Dub Project for this dub of Fate/Extra!
About the Let's Dub Project:The Let's Dub Project is a growing amateur fandub group consisting of over 60 actors and actresses. We have hundreds of videos of our dubs of visual novels such as Dangan Ronpa, Ace Attorney, and 999. This Let's Dub will be directed by PacoSlimee and ItWasRed.

About the Fate/Extra Let's Dub:Fate/Extra is a game in the popular "Fate" series. Known for the Visual Novel Fate/Stay Night. As well as the anime series of the same name. Fate/Extra is a RPG/Visual Novel hybrid featuring a large cast of colorful characters. We will be dubbing the "Rin Route" of the game. Lines are submitted on a biweekly basis and edited on top of raw footage. The completed video is then posted publicly to the Let's Dub Project's YouTube page.
Plot summary from the Type:Moon wiki:"Waking up in a strange virtual world with no recollection of the past, the main character finds themselves forced to fight for survival in a war they do not understand for a prize beyond value; the opportunity to have one’s wish granted. With only an enigmatic “Servant” by their side, Hakuno... will have to face both friends and foes in battles to the death in order to not only gain possession of a mysterious object known as the “Holy Grail,” but also to find the answer to the most important question of all: “Who am I?”."
Notes:- Mic quality is an important factor. It should have little to no background noise or reverb.- Language warning: the game does feature some harsh language and hurtful words. If you are uncomfortable saying these things, this may not be the right project for you.

Director’s Notes: Issei is strict and straight to the point. Due to him being an AI who was programed to relay only necessary information.

(From the Type Moon wiki) “The Master of Lancer and a descendant of the Tousaka lineage of magi, though not a legitimate member of the family. An individual with superior hacking skills and an affinity for all five elements, she takes on the role of a popular and exemplary student at Tsukumihara Academy, though she actually finds amusement in cruelly toying with her opponents. Her primary motive for participating in the Holy Grail War is to stop the Harway plutocracy from halting human progress. Her personality heavily reflects her Fate/stay night counterpart, most notably from her cynical behavior and reluctant, yet earnest desire to help the essentially clueless Hakuno throughout the game.”
Director’s Notes: She is outwardly confident almost to a fault, but this is primarily a front. She does mean well, she just doesn’t like to show it.

(From the Type Moon wiki) “The Master of Rider and good friend of Hakuno from the preliminary testing round. While he is popular because of his good looks, he is known for having a twisted personality and has few friends. He considers Leonard Harway to be a rival because of his sudden popularity. Though his avatar suggests he is the same age as Hakuno, Shinji is actually an eight-year-old gaming prodigy and hacker.”
Director’s Notes: Shinji is immature and extremely arrogant. He is simply a child who thinks he’s playing a video game. And as such he thinks he can get away with anything. Because he is using an avatar instead of his actual body, he should sound age appropriate for his avatar. Disclaimer: Shinji says some pretty unpleasant things at times. If you don’t think you’d be comfortable saying such things, this may not be the character for you.

Out of his desire to make the world a better place, he participates in Holy Grail War to secure the Holy Grail, which he believes is dangerous to humanity. Because he is confident in his abilities, he does not even conceal the identity of his Servant. However, his upbringing has prevented him from experiencing human emotions such as despair until he is defeated for the first time.”
Director’s Notes: He is confident much like other masters, but he is more sincere and innocent. He just hasn’t considered the possibility of defeat due to his sheltered upbringing. He can be played by a male or female.

(From the Type Moon wiki) “The Servant of Shinji Matō, in contrast to history, is a hedonistic woman who lives entirely for the moment and finds value only in ephemeral aspects of life... In addition to her accomplishments in circumnavigation, she is known for her role in defeating the Spanish Armada, which gave rise to the Age of Exploration for England. As a pirate, she favours using pistols in combat and is notably cunning.”
Director’s Notes: Francis Drake is amused by this whole situation, not taking it very seriously. At one point demanding that her master pay her to complete a task. The game makes a point of saying Francis Drake was a male historically, even going as far to state that it isn’t sure why the Holy Grail materialized him as a female.

Director’s Notes: Gawain acts as an older brother to his master rather than a servant. Being protective and hoping to see him grow and learn from defeat.

Director’s Notes: Shiki is a separate entity in the program. She is listed as being of the Monster class. She is no nonsense, but not in a cold way. More so that she doesn’t have time for games.

His appearance and presence are actually data transcriptions of a man who once participated in the Holy Grail War; thus, he is knowledgeable about the Holy Grail, the Moon Cell, and SE.RA.PH. in general. Kotomine apparently has the same power as his Fate/Stay Night counterpart, to be inferred from comment in the game that if he were the player's opponent, Hakuno would already be dead.”
Director’s Notes: Even though he’s a priest and a helper AI, he gives off a condescending and suspicious vibe when he speaks. In reality he was a villain, but the AI is only set to oversee the war while administering tips and advice.

Director’s Notes: Polite almost to the point of being robotic. She is much more forward about being an AI than any of the others. During glitching out her voice becomes more robotic when reciting error text or commands.

An NPC, she has no direct role in the progression of the war, but is noted to serve a role by one of the other NPCs.”
Director’s Notes: Another AI designed to aid the competitors in the war, however she notably has much more personality than the others. She is also a bit of an airhead and clumsy.

(From the Type Moon wiki) “The rebellious Servant of Dan Blackmore, Archer's origins as the anonymous outcast son of a druid were gradually conflated into the many legends of a chivalrous outlaw thief from Sherwood Forest. Archer excels in guerrilla tactics, including the use of poison, traps, and other underhanded tactics to achieve victory. Despite bitter complaints that he is unable to win in a fair fight in response to his Master's severe opposition to his methods, it is implied that Archer's reason for participating in the Holy Grail War is to act and be recognized as a true hero.”
Director’s Notes: In contrast to his master, Robin Hood is pretty laid-back and believes there are no rules when it comes to winning fights.

Saver exists as the final boss of the game and is distinct from the other seven classes of Servants.”
Director’s Notes: He’s the last boss, but he shouldn’t sound evil. Compassionate and wise, he helps Pieceman out of concern for the state of his soul rather than agreement with his ideals.

A prominent scientist in the late 20th century who pioneered the science of digital hacking, he was killed in a terrorist attack and his data was recorded into the Moon Cell and later became self-aware. Though he despises war, he believes that it is necessary in order for humanity to progress.”
Director’s Notes: He is polite and mild-mannered in his normal speaking but takes on an air of conviction when delivering monologues. He, much like many of the other masters, is intent on completing his mission by any means. But unlike the others, he takes no pleasure in it.

Director’s Notes: The more energetic of the Aozaki sisters. She is bubbly and somewhat airheaded. She doesn’t get along with her sister.

Director’s Notes: Dan wants to believe he is doing this for chivalry and his country, but rather he is actually being selfish. Hoping to steal the wish to bring back his dead wife. He is hiding his real motivations under a layer of false pride. He is however aware that he is lying to himself.

Unlike most Masters, she does not desire to acquire the Grail, but to follow her teacher's instruction to find a ‘special person.’ Her conditioning has resulted in her lack of understanding of what acceptable social conventions are.”
Director’s Notes: Rani will be a little tough to pull off, as she is somewhat emotionless, but not entirely monotone. She is a puppet but it is important to remember she’s also an actual person in this world.

Her Servant claims that she is his "wife" and her insanity makes her beautiful. She wishes to obtain the Holy Grail to make all of humanity like her.”
Director’s Notes: Alternates between a high, goofy voice and a low, sinister voice. She’s also completely insane so have fun with that.

(From the Type Moon wiki) “Similar to Artoria Pendragon, Nero is female. While she was notorious as a tyrannical emperor and for her arrogance as an artist with supremacy comparable to the gods, Nero is a kindhearted individual who wanted what was best for her subjects.”
Director’s Notes: Nero is proud and can be quite boisterous. Unlike the more popular King Arthur version Saber, she isn’t very humble and believes others are privileged to be in her presence. She is said to speak in a fairly masculine fashion.

(From the Type Moon wiki) “The initial protagonist for the prologue is an unnamed male at Tsukimihara Academy. He is close friends with Shinji Matou, who frequently comments that he seems very boring. He has no idea how they became friends, and only recalls meeting in spring of their freshman year. He believes himself to be a nobody without goals, and thinking about the future overwhelms him. He thinks as long as he keeps prodding along, he will reach a totally average future like everybody else.”
Director’s Notes: The Initial Protagonist is quite literally a generic npc. In the context of the Fate/Extra universe he is actually an AI designed to be a non noteworthy student. He begins to question his existence only hours before the beginning of the Holy Grail War. This will make his performance a tad difficult, as his personality is unmemorable early on but frantic later.

He is actually Leonard's brother, who hacked into the profile of the original Kuzuki, and secretly protects his brother by killing his opponents both in real and virtual world. Throughout the game he hacks into SE.RA.PH's system to suit his needs, even going so far as to assassinate other Masters.”
Director’s Notes: His goal is to ensure the victory of his family by any means necessary. While he is undercover he doesn’t change his personality all that much. Has a breakdown near the end of his part in the game and becomes very over the top. Very intimidating and intense.

In his arrogance, Lü Bu believed himself to be incomparable as a warlord; his downfall came when his strategist Chen Gong turned against him. His military acumen qualifies him to be summoned as Lancer, Rider, Assassin, Berserker and Archer.”
Director’s Notes: Being a Berserker, Lu Bu speaks entirely through screams so whoever is cast in this part must be able to scream convincingly and have equipment capable of handling volume.

(From the Type Moon wiki) “The Servant of Alice, an irregular Servant who is actually a projected Reality Marble, shaped from dreams of her Master as a mirror image of Alice. Because of the genre of nursery rhymes were so beloved, Nursery Rhyme gained her own existence as a "hero of children" from the foundation of the nursery rhyme, Alice in Wonderland, that the author Lewis Carroll improvised to sing to the daughters of a family friend.”
Director’s Notes: The current plan is to cast Alice and Nursery Rhyme to the same person unless two people with similar voices do the characters well. That said, they do have different personalities. Compared to Alice, she is rather emotionless and detached-sounding and often acts as the instigator for fights with other servants.

Director’s Notes: He believes in morality but also that there is necessity in evil. He does not see the difference in justice and evil. He values rationality above all else. He’s also a bit dramatic, prone to yelling for no reason in particular.

Director’s Notes: Similar to his Master Run Ru, Vlad is also insane. Vlad however revels in it. Over the top and dramatic as fitting as someone who was the inspiration for Dracula. He is very, very theatrical.

As a Master in the Holy Grail War, they are able to choose Saber, Archer, or Caster as a Servant, which doesn't affect which opponents the player will encounter in the game.”
Director’s Notes: Heavy narration. In fact, the character speaks primarily in past tense recalling the events from a future point in time. Meaning almost all of the dialogue is narrated. She is the only competitor in the Holy Grail War who doesn’t know why she’s there. As the initiation process results in her losing her memories.

Normally somewhat shy, Alice becomes more playful during battles. Due to her age, she doesn’t really understand the concepts of fighting and death so try to get that naivety across in her lines. Also, she and Caster both speak in third person and refer to each other as Alice.
