Knight Fall comic dub
Project Overview
Hello Everyone! I'm holding auditions for the Youtube dub of my webcomic, Knight Fall. Knight Fall is a graphic novel about an art student living in tokyo, Japan (Erin), who saves the life of a vocal vigilante. Mysterious powers paired with the vigilante's life debt give her the ability to control his destiny.
Requirements:
· Decent microphone
· Enough time to record
· You need to know English and need to be able to speak clearly and concisely (some accents will be a nono depending on which character you’re auditioning. For example, Erin is from Seattle, so she wouldn’t have a southern accent or a British accent) Knite and Kori are more up in the air.
· Email/skype capability so you can send me the recordings
· NO prior acting experience needed, but it is encouraged
· This is unpaid work, just for fun. However you will likely be used for this dub as long as you would like to contribute and will be credited for the work. If you want to get into voice acting it’s good practice :3
· I’m looking for people who know how to convey emotions well with their voice, you will need a good understanding of how to do that and a good understanding of my characters

Some voice reference!
Eyy, so I've began narrowing down some of the auditions I like (no spoilers though ;)), and I know I've provided some voice reference in the descriptions of each character I thought I'd provide some vidoes in case some of you would like to do some re-dos/alternate auditions. These are just generally going to be fairly close matches for what I had in mind for each character. This could completely change if your audition is fitting ^ ^ Erin As stated in her bio her voice is somewhere between Caitlin Glass’s Haruhi Fujioka, and Janet Varney’s Korra. Her voice is lower middle in pitch. Haruhi Reference: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t_cRuUcO2uw Korra Reference: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mr9hoTvENJU Knite Knite is a bit more up in the air, he’s very much a shounen hero architype but his voice is a bit more rational, but still passionate, still goofy. The best match I’ve found is Jason Liebrecht. He voices both Yato in Noragami and Hei in Darker than black. I think the contrast between the two performances capture both sides of Knite’s personality. I could see him being serious or a bit looser with his voice. He does have a notably wise way of speaking which sounds very cunning and calculating, it’s not completely free of inflection though. Voice reference wise the closest I’ve come to a match would be Ren from RWBY, or maybe any of Micah Solusod’s more collected characters (So more serious/mature version of Yukine or Soul Eater Evans, not super familiar with some of his more serious roles)? This dude is honestly hard to define voice-wise. As I said, Yumi is very upbeat in cheerful with how she acts, especially with her voice. She’s very polite and kind, but can be almost savage when she wants to. Two characters come to mind that have similar personalities. Caitlin Glass’s Winry Rockbell and Bryn Apprill’s Hiyori Iki (I’m so sorry all my examples are from Noragami rip). Troy Baker’s Greed (Fullmetal Alcemist: Brotherhood), Ian Sinclair’s Daikoku (Noragami…so sorry all these are from fma or noragami or RWBY), and Vic Mignogna’s Qrow Branwan (RWBY). I would imagine Erin to have a fairly mature voice; the range would probably be somewhere in-between deep and feminine. Think Korra from LOK or Haruhi Fujioki from Ouran High School host club. Her speech pattern is slightly scatterbrained but she’s very coherent and even a little eloquent when she is focused. She’s pretty nerdy so we can have know-it-all moments occasionally. She also usually has fairly passive aggressive speech inflections when she’s irritated. Personality: Brave, indecisive ,creative, artistic, bold/blunt, insecure, overthinks things, can find almost anything to be hilarious, doesn’t sleep, caring/compassionate, protective, the mom friend™ when she has money (which she usually doesn’t) loving, responsible, respectful. (Whispering/thinking) It’s a pretty desperate move to rob this place; it’s not as if they keep much cash on hand. What are they even after?

Knite –main character/male| 26 yrs old| Arienthillian| born in Arienthil (fictional world)
Knite is the typical shounen boi, only, yaknow, older (cause all shounens in highschool). He would definitely have an adult male voice, similar to Erin his voice isn’t super high pitched or low, somewhere in the middle ground, maybe with an ever so slight raspiness as if he’s always a little tired. Think older Edward Elric (Vic Mignogna), or a not-so-eccentric Yato (Jason Liebrecht), maybe even a little space dad (josh Keaton), you have a great deal of freedom with his voice since I’ve never really found an exact match for what I imagine. He has a very confident way of speaking, he rarely stutters or trips over words, he also speaks very loudly. He’s the kind of person who would interrupt someone just because he speaks his mind and apologize 10 times for it. He’s a cinnamon roll ™, but also lowkey emo. When he’s angry he screams a lot, when he’s chill he has a well-rounded sense of humor and has a fairly calming voice. Personality: Confident, decisive, bold, paranoid, impulsive, hyper, strategical/tactical, a bit of a loner, not great at communicating, a little childish/irresponsible, fun-loving. (Surprised/Shock/Remorse) It’s the girl. That bullet was meant for me, she jumped in front of me, she-she saved me.
(Impatient) All the more reason to remove the homicidal maniac from the situation; I didn’t spend a week of interrogating street trash to let Teno slip through my fingers again. This is the first solid lead we’ve had in a while.

Kori is cold, calculating, and strategical. He has a wise voice that is typically very matter-of-fact and always looking for information. He isn’t very emotionally inclined so his voice doesn’t say too much about his personality other than that he keeps walls up. The only person he really lets his guard down is Knite, so he would have slightly more inflection and caring in his voice when talking to Knite. For voice reference think maybe Kyoya senpai from Ouran high school host club? Or basically ever cold and calculating shounen glasses character ever. (Apologetic/ shock) His aura must not be ciphered like mine is, that’s the only way he could be this strong. I’m sorry, I should have accounted for this. I knew he could have been a summoning. I should have seen that this would be a likely outcome.

Yumi is a sunshine child, very pure despite her troubled home life. She’s very helpful and caring so she would have a very cheerful and approachable voice, fairly average voice range for a girl. It’s fairly average for an anime girl, she has a particularly kind inflection though. It’s the kind of voice that makes you happy just to be around. She’s pretty perceptive and inquisitive so that inflection should be in her voice. Personality: Kind, cheerful, daddy issues ™, loving, inquisitive, perceptive, social skills af, lowkey emo ™, somewhat ditsy, poor boundaries, tells you what she thinks even if you don’t wanna know, creative, artistic, just wants to make people happy, handles rejection very poorly.You can download the audition script here---> http://sta.sh/01a9m9efq7nj

Voice wise- I imagine he’s a mix between daikoku from Noragami and Greed from fullmetal alchemist (Troy Baker). So pretty much a deep confident voice, fairly raspy, really cocky; his voice in general just mocks you. Very villain. However, he can speak very intelligently and conservatively when he wants to, he just generally doesn’t. Personality: Strategic, VERY impulsive, he thrives off danger and unpredictable situations, smart mouth, cusses a ton, rude/cocky, unconcerned with collateral damage though he does follow orders. It’s pretty nice being a summoning: Almost nothing fazes you… electrical shock feels like a cat nap, and bullets barely leave a scratch. Too bad the same doesn’t go for you.

Jackhlaid is roughly 28 years old, and a high ranking villain in the organization opposing the protagonists. She is stern and logical but she has an extremely quick temper that gets her into trouble. She despises many of her colleagues including Teno.
