Minecraft Roleplay ~ Keeper of the Lost Cities

Minecraft Roleplay ~ Keeper of the Lost Cities

Project Overview

(I'VE CHANGED THIS TO AN AUDIOBOOK BUT HAVE DECIDED TO KEEP THE NAME THE SAME BECAUSE IM GETTING A LOT OF AUDITIONS NOW LOL SORRY.)

DISCLAIMERS: I DO NOT OWN THE COVER ART NOR HAVE ANY ASSOCIATION WITH THE BOOK ITSELF. I AM MERELY A LOVER OF THE SERIES AND THOUGHT IT WOULD BE AMAZING AND HELPFUL TO CREATE A "PROFESSIONAL" AUDIOBOOK.

FYI 1: NOT ALL CHARACTERS HAVE BEEN ADDED TO THE CASTING CALL YET, JUST THE ONES INVOLVED MOSTLY IN THE FIRST FIVE OR TEN CHAPTERS. SO IF YOU DO NOT GET CASTED, THERES A CHANCE I HAVE YOU IN MIND FOR A CHARACTER I HAVE NOT ADDED TO THE LIST YET.

FYI 2: ALL EXTREMELY DETAILED PICTURES ARE OF THE CHARACTERS WHEN THEY ARE A LITTLE OVER A YEAR OLDER; FOR THE FIRST BOOK, THEY LOOK AND ARE YOUNGER. NONE OF THEM ARE MY ORIGINAL WORKS EITHER.

Requirements

•You need to have a decent sounding microphone or at least a condenser that you can put over a phone microphone, with very discreet to no background noise.

•You must be able to really express emotion that is convincing and real.

•You must be within the age range of a certain character. This way, you will have an easier time with your auditions.

•You may audition for more than one character. However, if cast, you will only be cast for one major role, and possibly a side role. This is to keep every character voice distinct and unique.

•You must have Skype for easier and quicker communications.

•You must be able to send me audio files of your lines if cast, meaning no videos.

•If cast as a major role, you must be available at least once a week and will have two weeks to do your lines.

Have fun!!!

Text Narrator (MAJOR ROLE)

Unpaid

As the narrator, you need to be a female with an at least mature sounding voice (age does not matter if your voice is mature).  You also need an American accent, and to be sure to read your lines slowly and clearly, but still with emotion. This will be the largest role for the audiobook.

  • *Say anything in the voice of a narrator*

  • Twelve-year-old Sophie Foster has a secret. She's a Telepath--someone who hears the thoughts of everyone around her. It's a talent she's never known how to explain.

  • Alden rushed to the door and called Fitz. Sophie couldn't focus as Alden explained what was happening. She was too busy tying to figure out what she would say to her parents. How was she going to tell her family goodbye?

Sophie Foster (MAJOR ROLE)

(Sophie is almost 13 years old.) Sophie Foster is the main character in the series. She is very insecure yet and doubtful yet optimistic, and everything in the new world she is now living in is extremely new to her. Because of her extreme smarts causing her to slip several grades, she has always been the outcast and the freak, in the human world, and now in the Lost Cities as well. She's never felt like she's belonged. But she's just trying to do her best for everyone around her including herself. She is also a telepath, she has been since she was five. And once she meets Fitz, her first ever friend, she learns that that he is one as well and begins to feel like she belongs, especially when she starts a new life in the Lost Cities.

  • (Baffled, angry, anxious) "You're insane--and I'm insane for trusting you."

  • (Tearing up, meaningful, serious, holding back sobs) "Please, please know that I love you. I can't thank you enough for everything you've done for me. I have to go now, but I will never forget you."

  • (hurt, holding back tears, angry) "There's nothing to talk about. You don't owe me anything. I'm not your daughter." (DON'T READ ITALICIZED LINE ->) "Sophie . . . "(Same emotions from before) "No, it's fine. I thought we were a family but I guess I was wrong. I can't replace Jolie and I guess you don't don't want me." LINE 4*She is transmitting this telepathically, by the way* (Frantic, yelling, scared) No! We're not dead. Please, someone hear me. We need help!

Fitzroy (Fitz) Vacker (MAJOR ROLE)

(Fitz is almost 15.) Fitz is a very charming and sweet boy, with a distinct British accent. The author describes it as crisp, so if you need help with that, I would look it up on YouTube as an example. He was Sophie's very first friend, ever, and was the one to show her where she truly belonged. While he may not be a flirt he is definitely adored by most girls at Foxfire Academy, including Sophie. But there are a few people who believe he is Mr. Perfect and are not at all fond of him. His voice, while crisp, is also between low and hight pitch.

  • (Hushed, shocked) "Did you just  . . . hear that? *pause* You did--didn't you? . . . Are you a Telepath?" (uneased look from Sophie) (astounded, whispers)  "You are! I can't believe it."

  • (Heroic, serious) "I've got you! (Concerned, amazed) Are you okay? (Still amazed, somewhat laughing) You practically flew across the field! . . . (Serious, upset) You're not okay, you're bleeding . . . "

  • (Out of it, tearing up, shocked) "But you're dead . . . and I went to your funeral . . . "

Dex Dizznee (MAJOR ROLE)

(Dex is 13 years old.) Dex is one of the youngest of Sophie's friend circle, and definitely the most adorable. He is Sophie's best friend and gets jealous very easily when she chooses to hang out with people other than him. He's always coming up with new gadgets and creating ways to help Sophie any way he can. But sometimes . . . he's in over his head.

  • *Sees Sophie's "abnormally" brown eyes* (Amazed, curious) "Whoa! How'd you do that? I turn mine red sometimes--totally freaks everyone out--but I've never seen brown before. I like it."

  • (Was just crying minutes ago) "I'm so sorry, Sophie. I had no idea you'd react like that. I'd never--" *interrupted by Sophie* (A little relieved, still worried) *lets out a deep breath* "You're really okay?"

  • *In this scene he's arguing with Sophie* (Skeptic) "I don't trust them." (Loud, snappy) "Yeah, because you have a megacrush on Fitz." *snorts* "Whatever."  (talking back, angry) "Maybe if you'd talked to me first--instead of running to Wonderboy--I could've helped. But I guess I should get used to that. Once you're living there, you'll ditch me anyway." (extremely angry) *slams locker* "Good!"

Alden Vacker (MAJOR ROLE)

Alden is the father of Fitz, Alvar and Biana Vacker, and the husband of Della Vacker. He is very kind and generous with his hospitality, while also very hesitant with giving information to Sophie and her close friends. His heart is always in the right place and he has always been there to help Sophie become settled into the Lost Cities and find her place, and herself. He has the same crisp British accent as Fitz--it's the same with every Vacker .

  • (Calm, reassuring) "No reason to worry."

  • (Serious, stern) "You have broken a very serious law, Sophie. A tribunal will be held to decide your punishment."

  • (Extremely happy yet concerned, surprised) "You're alive! But how is this possible?"

Keefe Sencen (MAJOR ROLE)

(Keefe is 14.) Keefe Sencen is a bit of a flirt, and is a little overenthusiastic about himself, inside and especially out. He's got an obvious crush on Sophie and is always getting into trouble due to his mischeviousness. He never settles for boring--he always finds some way to bring humor or craziness or adventure into everything. He may just be the most fun person to be around. But he is often too joking in times of seriousness. But despite this, he is sill very sweet and caring. He does become  a main and crucial focus around the fourth book, and so on into the fifth.

  • (Amused, confident) "See, Foster? You're a natural. If anyone can do this, it's you."

  • (Stern, serious) "I don't care what happens to her." (DON'T READ ITALICIZED LINE -> Sophie: *wipes small tear from his cheek and shows it to him* "Then why are you crying?") (Quiet, choking back sobs) "I-I . . . "

  • (DON'T READ ITALICIZED->  Fitz: Come on, I know it's not her you're mad at. I've been there.) (Angry, snappy) "Have you? Because I seem to remember you having a bummer few weeks and then everything went back to perfect Vacker-Land. So where's my perfect fix? Why does it just keep spiraling and spiraling and spiraling?" (Serious, hurt, quiet) "You keep trying to fix everything. Sophie. You even fixed Exillium. But you can't fix me."

Biana Vacker (MAJOR ROLE)

(Biana is either 13 or 14, I can't remember lol.) is the younger sister of Alvar and Fitz Vacker, who is very savvy and stylish. Her sense of fashion and upkeep with herself automatically declares possibly her the most beautiful girl in all of the Lost Cities--even though all elves are naturally very attractive. But nonetheless, she is savvy but a sweetheart, and she will always be there to help--even when you didn't ask for it. Her accent is also British and very crisp, like all of the other Vackers.

  • (Skeptical, curious) "We're friends? My dad didn't put you up to this?"

  • (Apologetic, sad, guilty, tearing up) *hugs Sophie tightly* "I'm so sorry for the way I've treated you these past few weeks, Sophie. It's just, with my . . . and everything . . . "

  • (Somewhat mad, betrayed) "You went without me? And you even took my brother? Why didn't you say anything? I would've been a lot of help, you know."

Stina Heks

(Stina is 12 or 13, it was never mentioned specifically.) Stina is your average mean girl, complete with the frilly hair, sassy attitude and snarky, unnecessary comments. She's always going out of her way to make Sophie's reputation at Foxfire Academy miserable--that is, when she's not trying to one-up her every chance she gets. She believes that Sophie is a freak whose only purpose is trouble and disaster. But Sophie will not allow Stina to get her way.

  • (Snarky, stuck-up) "Oh look who it is; the freak-show. Are you here to burn yet another place down? I wouldn't be surprised."

  • (Overdramatic, whiny) "Ow! She hurt me! Doesn't that make her disqualified?"

  • (Sassy, amused) *laughs* "I take it back. She won't last six weeks here before they send her to Exillium."

Della is the kind-hearted and gracefully beautiful wife of Alden Vacker, mother of Fitz, Biana, and Alvar. She is a little too sweet and loving sometimes--for example, her hugs can get pretty suffocating, But that doesn't make her any less of a wonderful and caring elf. Also has a crisp British accent, like the rest of the Vackers.

  • (Delighted, caring) *bear hugs Sophie* "Oh, I'm so glad to see you again! How are you, dear?"

  • (Quiet, hesitant, sad) "Grady and Edaline lost their only daughter fifteen years ago. She was only twenty when she died. It was a . . . terrible accident. *covers mouth to hold back sob*

  • (Stressed, anxious, concerned) "Alden has a lot of weight on his shoulders right now . . . The best thing we can do is support him and keep him happy."

Grady Ruewen (MAJOR ROLE)

Grady Ruewen is the husband of Edaline Ruewen and the father of the deceased Jolie Reuwen. Unlikes Edaline, he is very outgoing and cheerful, mainly due to his exciting job as an animal tamer in the pastures. He deals with all sorts of creatures, from feathered dinosaurs to small, stinky imps. He is very sweet and treats Sophie like family from the moment they meet, never forgetting to make her feel comfortable and belonging. While being a very fun and extroverted character, he can also be very quiet and serious when things are tense. He is on the right of the icon picture, and Edaline is on the left.

  • (Happy, casual) "Hey, kiddo. Edaline is downstairs making mallowmelt if you'd like some after dinner."

  • (Serious, shocked, stern) "Where did you learn that name? No one has ever said that name around you."

  • (Sad, hurt, serious) "Sophie, I understand you're upset. But we are still your guardian and you have to listen to us." (DON'T READ ITALICIZED LINE -> Sophie: "Fine. If you want to keep up the charade, I'll play along. Would you like a hug while we're at it? Should I tell you 'I love you' again?" Grady: (tearing up, hurt, quiet) "No. Just . . . have a good day at school."

Edaline Ruewen

Edaline is quite the opposite of her outgoing husband Grady--in fact, she is very quiet and tired most of the time. She tried to smile but the smudges under her eyes make it clear that they're almost always forced. Ever since the death of her only daughter Jolie fifteen years ago, she has sunken into a deep depression and cannot get herself to move on, which means she has left Jolie's room exactly how it was before she died, down to the half drunken bottle of Youth and the open powder compacts. But nonetheless, she is still sweet as a button and is very kind to everyone around her. She always tries to be there for everyone else, rather than keeping herself well. Dex is actually her nephew by adoption, which technically makes him and Sophie cousins. She is on the left in the icon picture, next to Grady Ruewen.

  • (Tired, calm, quiet) "It's nice to meet you, Sophie."

  • (Kind, sincere, quiet) "I know we aren't very close, but I am here for you. Always."

  • (Angry, hurt, scared) "She almost . . . died? *chokes back sob* You almost died . . . "

Elwin the Physician
open

Elwin is the school physician for the prestigious Foxfire Academy--though Sophie's weekly visits to him make him seem like her own personal doctor. He is very good with healing and keeping his patients at ease with either a witty joke or an explanation of how their treatment will go, assuring them it will be completely painless. He is super sweet and goofy, and without him, Sophie would not have lived to see another day after her allergic reaction to limbium.

  • (Amused, irritated) "This goes a lot faster if you hold still. *smiles and raises eyebrows reassuringly* See? Painless."

  • (Relieved-ish, worried) "Bullhorn screamed his head off when you came in. Scared the wits out of me."

  • (Teasing, casual) "Welcome back. You know, for a girl who hates doctors, you sure can't seem to stay away from the Healing Center."

(Amy is 9 years old.) Amy is Sophie's annoying little sister, who's always trying to make sure she seemed like the better child. As the author referred to her, she was only nine years old and had already mastered the role of the annoying little sister. But she and her parents' memories were erased by Washers and were given a new location and new identities after Sophie chose to leave her home and start a new life in the Lost Cities.

  • (Triumphant, snooty) "She's just trying to get out of trouble. How long is she grounded for?"

  • (Scared, shy, shaky) "Does Nightfall mean anything? That's what they said. They didn't know I was hiding here--one of them had talked about listening for thoughts, so I let my mind go dark and silent. And I heard them say, 'Take them to Nightfall.'"

  • (Mad, whiny) "How come Sophie gets to skip school and I can't? That's totally unfair.

William Foster is the father of Sophie and Amy. He only made an appearance in a few chapters of the first book, as wel as Amy and his wife, Emma Foster. But he seemed to be very down to earth, yet strict. He is now living as Connor Freeman, after having his memories of Sophie erased and being relocated by elves from the Lost Cities. He continues to live somewhere else with Amy and Emma, who are now known as Kate and Natalie Freeman.

  • (Stern, angry) "Where do you think you're going, young lady?"

  • (Casual) "What's wrong, Soybean? You always love Fettuccini night."

Emma Foster is the mother of Sophie and Amy Foster, She also made a very brief appearance only in the first book, and will possibly be reintroduced as Natalie Freeman in book 6: Nightfall, once it is released in November. She seems like your average mom, who is both formal and caring.

  • (Worried, frantic) "Where on earth have you been? We haven't heard from you in hours."

  • (Angry, extremely irritated) "Mr. Sweeney called us and told us you left the museum. He almost called the police!"

  • (Nice, casual) "Welcome home, Honey. Perfect timing--it's your night to set the table."

Mr. Sweeney is the first character introduced in chapter one, by getting after Sophie for zoning out--a real oaf, if you ask me. He is one of her high school teachers--assumingly her history teacher since he took his class to a history museum--and has a very nasal voice. He would not be considered as a very nice character in the series, but then again he only appears in the first chapter very briefly. He is still important though because his own dialogue is the opening line for the beginning of chapter one.

  • (Nasal, stern) "Miss Foster! Have you decided that you're too smart to pay attention to this information?"

  • (Nasal, rude) "Then perhaps you'd like to explain why you were listening to your iPod instead of following along?"

  • (Arrogant, underestimating Sophie, nasal) "Since you've decided you're above this lecture, why don't you give it? Explain to the class how the Lambeosaurus differs from the other dinosaurs we've studied."
