Hi everyone! I'll be starting a project (a manga dub) of the popular manga series Kaguya-sama: Love is War. Please be aware that the chapters I'm doing will be chock full of spoilers, so if you haven't read the manga or have read it but haven't caught up with these chapters yet I strongly advise not to proceed any further on these auditions. I, however, urge you to start reading it now, it's literally one of the best romcoms I've read to date.
Story
As leaders of their prestigious academy’s student council, Kaguya and Miyuki are the elite of the elite! But it’s lonely at the top, luckily for them, they’ve fallen in love! There’s just one problem—they both have too much pride to admit it. And so begins the daily scheming to get the object of their affection to confess their romantic feelings first. Project
I've been toying with this idea since last year but haven't had the time to pursue it until now. Initially the plan is to animate only the chapters, then came the idea of adding voice overs. I tried creating the video above using some of the panels I have already animated. (It's currently in Japanese, CC is available for English translations.) Please do take note anything that is shown in the video is not final and is subject for improvement. And of course the text will be in English using the fan translations.
This will be a one-time project. We will not be doing any more than these chapters. Commitment will be around 1-3 months. I will be asking you to start recording as soon as you were cast. The script is already written down, but I might adjust or edit it in case the flow of the narration and dialogue is not working out. I might also ask for retakes if needed. Communication will be mainly by email but feel free to add me on Discord for any questions you might have! (I rarely log on there though, haha.)

Animation will be kept to a minimum, please don't expect anything fancy or anime-like. Although I'm trying to add more visual effects whenever possible, I'm still trying to learn, haha. This is in no way meant to be a replacement for the anime, obviously.

One of the main characters of the series. Born on January 1st. A second-year high school student and the student council vice president at Shuchiin Academy. She is stunningly beautiful and the daughter of the Shinomiya Group, one of the top four conglomerates in Japan. Despite being an all-round genius, she is also a quintessential sheltered girl due to her wealthy upbringing. A bit naïve and ignorant because she was raised in a bubble, she has a habit of unintentionally looking down on others and trying to take advantage of people. Looks good with cat ears. Wants to make Miyuki Shirogane confess his love to her.
You probably have no idea.
I used to think that life was nothing but suffering. But our days in the student council have changed my worldview more than you will ever know. And the more I realized just how kind you are, the more I came to hate myself.
When I looked at other people, all I would think was, “Will they be of use to me?”
I saw them as nothing more than tools. I realized then how cold I was. I came to realize I was a terrible woman with a twisted, disfigured heart. The fact that someone like you could like someone like me makes me uneasy.
You're kind to everyone. What if you're just being nice to me as well, and I'm just misinterpreting things? Perhaps I'm getting excited over nothing.
If I were to be so conceited as to confess, it would surely destroy the relationship we've spent all this time building.

One of the main characters of the series. Born on September 9th. A second-year high school student, who is the student council president at Shuchiin Academy. For some reason, he seems to always be glaring. Lives with his father and younger sister, Kei, a middle school student at Shuchiin Academy. In a way he has an addiction to working hard and therefore a genius because of his hard work, which includes studying ten hours a day without fail and spending the rest of his time working at his part-time job. Looks good with cat ears. Wants to make Kaguya Shinomiya confess her love to him.
(groans) Hey, Shinomiya. Let me show you something special. I was planning to save this for a bit later, but oh well. You know, I wasn't trying to frighten you. I told you there was something I wanted to show you, remember? We've never been able to meet in the middle, or find the right words. So I figured I'd just give the most amazing present I could think of.
(in his thoughts) I don't have Shinomiya's natural resourcefulness, nor her ingenuity.
And our families don't even merit comparison.
I still clearly remember... when we first met. You hadn't the slightest interest in me.
So I worked hard. Harder than I ever had before.
You'll probably never know how happy I was when I finally beat you at your best.
I felt a glimmer of hope in my chest, that just maybe we could one day stand on equal footing.

In order to be loved, humans will act as an idealized version of themselves, hiding their dicontent. They are fundamentally deceitful creatures, which makes falling in love quite terrifying. From one deceitful persion to another, where nothing is certain or straightforward, they must put words to their feelings, or else they will never move forward.
… Even if it means losing.
