Justice in Unity: Redux ~ Part One / Teil Eins ~ [Final Call 3, EN & DE]
Project Overview
NOTE: This is the third round of auditions for this call. Any roles that are marked as "cast to offsite actor" were cast in the previous call, found here.
. . . Can you hear me? I can't see anything . . . I want to wake up. Please . . . Somebody, wake me up.
Justice in Unity: Redux is the resurrection of an older project, called simply Justice in Unity. Made in RPG Maker VX Ace, but less of an RPG and more of an interactive story with sleuthing elements, JiURe features two storylines beginning in two separate centuries before eventually joining into one by the end.
One storyline, set in near-modern-day France and America, stars French-American Det. Elliot Mortensen, a man plagued by his own inner demons and an overwhelming fear of the dark. The other, set first in Victorian-era England before shifting to the mid-2010s, stars Dr. Mordecai Cheshire, a prideful psychiatrist who is torn between whether he wants to lead a calm or exciting life until the decision is made for him, one way or another.
As the story unfolds, the player can watch as their choices either make or break Elliot's relationships, friendships, and sanity, as well as deciding the fates of important characters along the way. There are currently four routes to choose from, ranging from good to bad, with each side having an extreme: Elliot Pure, Elliot, Dark, and Dark Pure. It is planned that the game will have five parts, developed one after another and released as they are completed.
This particular part of the game, Part One: Light of My Life, stars primary protagonist Det. Elliot Mortensen, and takes place in 2008 – 2009 France. However, the final segment of this part, which is a preview for Part Two: A Game of Trust, is set in (Victorian) England in the years 1838 - 1846. Most of these roles are open to various voice types. See character descriptions for character-specific information (obviously).
Some of the roles in this casting call are in German: yes, this game has an ongoing German dub in process. If you speak German or know someone who does, please feel free to audition, as we are dangerously low on German actors.
Despite being made in VX Ace with resources for said engine, JiURe also features a lot of resources from RPG Maker XP, including pieces of tilesets and edits of sprites made by Sithjester and Mack, among others. In addition, the game features several scripts, such as ones by MOG, Khas, and Yanfly, including a few somewhat heavily modified with custom traits.
The story for the game is progressed in a somewhat linear fashion, by solving cases and completing objectives, and there is no combat, experience, or equipment. It’s simply the player character following the flow of the story and making their own choices when applicable to see how the context or path itself may change.
As the game is primarily being developed by solely one person (with writing being assisted by two others), it will likely be slow to release. However, we appreciate all the help we can get to make this passion project flourish.
Once completed, the full game (and any demos/playtest copies we happen to put out) will be available for free download on itch.io, GameJolt, and IndieDB.

We hope you find a role here that interests you. If not, keep an eye out for future casting calls for this project. Thank you for reading.

RULES:
- This project will take a long time, and actors will likely have to wait a long time between scripts (especially for characters in multiple Parts). Please don't audition if you can't remain dedicated to the project for a long time!
- Scripts will be sent through e-mail. However, you may also request to have scripts sent through Discord instead by sending me a private message or e-mail. (People who are cast will receive an invite to the project’s Discord server, but joining it is not mandatory.) E-mail: noelle.jiu.jiure @ gmail . com
- Actors with decent-quality microphones are preferred and are more likely to be cast. The more work I have to do to clean your clips up to balance them with the other actors', the less likely it is that I'll cast you.
- Ad-libbing is fine for this project (for most roles I actually encourage it), but try not to add too much to the line or change it too much.
- Be lively! I don't usually cast actors who are monotone, unless, of course, the role calls for that.
- This is a serious project, but feel free to have some fun! Bloopers are encouraged. We might make something of them later.
When you are logged in, you can comment, add submissions, create projects, upvote, search open roles, and way more. Login here.
There are various languages we would love to localize the game into, and we would like some help translating. The goal is eventually to try casting actors for dubs in these languages, if possible.
Part One: Light of My Life has approximately 31 scripts, of varying lengths, that need translating. However, only character dialogue and text used in-game need to be translated. Translations will be done through Google Docs, with content needing translation highlighted.
Translations can be done from English or German, as the scripts are available in both languages.
Any language translations appreciated, but here are some ordered by personal priority (sort of):
- French (Currently has zero (0) translators)
- Japanese (Currently has zero (0) translators)
- Spanish (Currently has one (0) translators)
All other languages are also appreciated and accepted for translation.
(Note: we might not be able to use translations in languages that are written from right-to-left (ex. Arabic, Hebrew) simply due to the way RPG Maker is coded. I do have a script that tries to force RTL text, but it's not entirely reliable...)
If you're fluent in another language (even one that already has a translator or two assigned to it) and are interested in helping us, either PM me or fire an e-mail to noelle.jiu.jiure @ gmail . com.
Multiple people will be cast for this role, and will likely be "unofficially" cast early: due to the way CCC works, everyone chosen will be "officially" cast when the call is closed for good, otherwise the role may appear closed when it's still open. If selected in advance, I will comment telling you to send me an email.
Say something you think would fit
We are looking for pixel artists capable of mimicking RPG Maker XP-style character sprites to make variants of character sprites for certain actions (e.g. sitting, sleeping/wounded lying down, aiming a gun, talking on the phone, smoking a cigarette, etc.) throughout the game. The base character sprites will be given to artists, along with instructions of what’s needed for the particular assigned set.
Please audition with links to samples of your spritework, or simply e-mail samples to noelle.jiu.jiure @ gmail . com.

We’re looking for musicians to finish the game’s soundtrack. While no more tracks are required for Part One or Part Two, future Parts still require some tracks, and we would like them to be completed in advance. The general genre for the tracks depends on the Part or the track in question, but typically they fall between dark “jazz”-influence and an antiquated classical feel. As of writing this, there are currently about 7 tracks remaining for the full soundtrack.
Please audition with some sample tracks of yours, or simply send an e-mail with samples to noelle.jiu.jiure @ gmail . com.

Medium-pitched voice with a standard North American accent preferred. Looking for an actor who can sound outgoing and boisterous, but also cold and aloof (character is quite dynamic), and pass as a youthful 28-year-old. Has a few screaming/crying lines. Approximately 24 scripts in Part One; character will return as a Lead role in Part Three and a Major role in Part Five.
Having been raised in an excessively Catholic household with his mom (a psychic), his father (an exorcist), and his not-so-bright twin brother, Simon was initially very jovial and outgoing as a child. He enjoyed caring for his brother and seemed to gravitate toward good-natured people. However, after a fire destroyed his family home and nearly took his life at the age of six, he began to see the world in a much bleaker light. He became cold and hateful, resenting his parents and their Catholic teachings, and wanting nothing more than to get away and learn about the world for himself.
As soon as he was old enough, he left the house on his own, leaving his parents and his twin behind. From there, he made his way to Lyon, where he decided to train to become a police officer. He remained calloused and embittered until he met a confident waitress named Charlotte, who brightened his days with her outgoing, shameless demeanor. He married her not long after, and the two had a daughter together, named Gaëlle, who Simon cherishes dearly, hoping to never have her lose her innocence and childlike glee like he did.
Sometime after that, Simon met Det. Elliot Mortensen, a colleague of his, and his wife, Émilie. They became fast friends, with Simon being one of the few who got to see past Elliot’s stoic, grumpy façade by bringing out the dorky nature in him. Now, Simon enjoys bringing comfort and humor to his friends and new family, opting to think as little of his upbringing and past of misery and contempt as he can. That said, he still takes his job seriously, and may only be a series of unfortunate events away from falling back into his old nature, despite his best efforts.
(wry)
I guess you could say those pancakes were to die for.(a bit somber/trying to relate/opening up)
Did you know I used to be miserable? Yeah, I know, hard to believe, right? But it’s true. When I was a teenager, I hated everything. My family, my school, the people I passed on the street . . . and I don’t use the term “hate” lightly.(dark/hostile)
Point being, I’m gonna fucking make you wish you were never born,
(roared)
so tell me what I need to know!
Medium-high to high-pitched voice with a standard North American accent preferred. Looking for an actress with a soft, child-like voice, able to pull off a happy and pampered 6-year-old. Has a few crying lines. Approximately 8 scripts in Part One; older versions of the character will return Minor roles in Parts Three and Five.
Daughter of Simon and Charlotte, Gaëlle is an outgoing little girl who enjoys the simple aspects of life, as a child would. She loves her mom and dad, and the little stuffed rabbit her dad gave her a few years back. However, she is a little bit spoiled, though she tries to be polite like her dad tells her to be.
She also enjoys the company of Elliot and especially his wife, Émilie, who she sees as her uncle and aunt respectively. Despite this, she is a little intimidated by Elliot at times, while she’s closest by far with her mother. She doesn’t do well with stressful or frightening situations, where she prefers to hide and cry until someone she trusts comes to her aide.
(giddy/happy) [asked to be good for a babysitter]
I will, daddy!(sad/doesn’t quite understand)
Uncle Elliot, when will Auntie Émilie* wake up? I made her a drawing so she’ll get better.
[ * Read as "Emily" ](scared/about to cry)
I tried to run, but there was another loud noise . . . A girl with red hair turned toward the sound and told me to run, and then she tried to run toward the sound, but then there was another one and she fell over, and . . . !
**British accent MANDATORY**
Medium to medium-low voice preferred. Looking for an actor who can pull off a soft, fatherly type of voice, capable of screaming. Emotional, loving, and brave, with decent self-confidence. Approximately 1 script in Part Two; character will not return in a later Part.
Father of Dr. Cheshire and husband of Lorelle, George is a well-paid and open-minded physician who owns a manor/estate in the small village of Catshill. He is only seen during Part Two’s prologue scene, where he is fawning over his and Lorelle’s newborn (and only) son, Mordecai. He has a big heart and is very family-oriented, despite his family’s overall small size. He isn’t afraid of showing his emotions or taking on any threat to his family, though he isn’t much of a fighter. He was born and raised in London, but moved to Catshill to get away from the hectic nature of the city – to be somewhere much quieter. It was in Catshill that he met his wife, and they married after only a few months of courting, but regardless he loves her to death.
Side information for the sake of padding: though this is not seen in-game, only referenced, after the events of the prologue, he falls into a deep depression and becomes addicted to alcohol, drinking himself to death five years later. As such, his son, unfortunately, has little respect for him, as he feels abandoned by him – during his bouts of alcoholism, George could barely bring himself to look at Mordecai, as the sight of him reminded him of said events, so he was rather neglectful, instead leaving the dwindling number of servants in the estate to care for his son. He felt guilty about it until the last.
No sprite yet.
(to Mordecai; loving/soft)
We are so blessed to have you, Mordecai. After nine tense months, here you are . . . and even more beautiful than we expected. I will do my best to be a perfect father for you. Goodnight, my precious boy.(gentle/worried)
Lorelle? You’re still unwell . . . Childbirth took a lot out of you, my love. You should rest.(firm/stoic/masking his fear)
Stay away from him, you vile trespasser!
(terrified/desperate)
No! Mordecai!
**British accent MANDATORY**
Medium to medium-low voices preferred. Looking for an actress capable of pulling off a gentle motherly voice, one a bit sickly and weak. One screaming line. Approximately 1 script in Part Two; character will not return in a later Part.
Mother of Dr. Cheshire and wife of George, Lorelle is a sickly housewife who enjoys knitting and other forms of tailoring. While she has always been prone to illness, she does her best to maintain herself, and her husband was vowed to care for her when she needs it. That said, she is a little less of a dreamer than her husband, though she tries not to let her realism ruin his optimistic disposition.
After giving birth to her son, her first one with George, Lorelle’s health takes a decline. She doesn’t regain her strength all that well, though she doesn’t regret it one bit. Cherishing her son, she loves him, yet restrains herself from interacting with him too much, as if aware of some impending misfortune that may separate her from him, and not wanting him to get too attached. Though, the misfortune that befalls her may not have been what she had in mind . . .

(overcoming the urge to cough/gently reassuring)
I am fine. Do not mind that.(to George; loving/light teasing)
Don’t stay up too long. We must let Mordecai rest as well.[frightened scream/shout as she’s attacked by an intruder]
High-pitched voices preferred, though clips will likely be filtered. Looking for an actor/actress who can manage to sound like a cockatoo mimicking human speech, whether naturally or through editing. Also needs a few squawks of pain or fear. Unknown number of scripts in Part Two, but likely won’t have very many; character will return as a Minor role in Part Five.
Dr. Mikkelsen’s pet cockatoo. Whether or not each iteration of it is the same bird is unclear but unlikely, as Mikkelsen seems to have a habit of ending its life for dramatic effect or for “practicality”.
Either way, Finny is a suspicious and intelligent little bird, capable of simple speech. It remains perfectly obedient to its master and is even able to put up a fight with its wings and small, taloned feet. When it’s not riding on Mikkelsen’s shoulder, it tends to sit on tables or other surfaces, whistling odd melodies to itself or repeating certain phrases that its master must repeat around it often . . .

Wake up! Good boy. Wake up!
[whistling/humming the melody to “Rock-a-Bye Baby”]
[angry attack squawk]
Any voice type allowed, though French accents preferred. Looking for any actor/actress that can sound like a generic, relatable civilian. So, any voice, we suppose. All Extra actors will be given the same scripts; some lines will be specified to be children NPCs. Rather than full scripts, actors may simply be given individual lines/batches of lines to record. Approximately 14 scripts in Part One; extras cast for Part One will likely also be assigned as extras in Part Three.
Generic civilians, children, police officers, high school students, forensic scientists, churchgoers, etc. from France. Elliot, Simon, and other playable characters will be able to interact with these people, whether in passing or as witnesses to be questioned about a case. These extras are mostly all open-books, able to be whatever their actor wants them to be in their respective contexts.
Sprites will be assigned upon a voice being decided for each NPC (actor may be able to decide certain factors of the sprite themselves, such as skin/hair/eye color).
Multiple people will be cast for this role.
If he really was poisoned, I feel bad for this café. Can you imagine the rap it'll get?
I’m thirsty, but I don’t like any of these drinks . . .
(nervous)
I--I’m not in trouble, am I? If she did something wrong before . . . that, I--
Medium-high to high-pitched voice with a standard North American accent preferred. Looking for an actress with a soft, child-like voice, able to pull off a happy and pampered 6-year-old.
Any voice type accepted. Looking for a dry sort of voice, kind of monotone, as if bored with their life.
Desk clerk of the apartment complex on Rue du Chariot d’Or. He’s rather cold and sarcastic, uninterested in dealing with anything that doesn’t concern him.
No sprite, as we never actually get to see him.
Any voice type accepted, but sophisticated, aged voices preferred. Looking for a voice that would suit a butler-type of character, with a high-class air to them.
The headwaiter at the newly opened classy restaurant, Le Jardin des Anges. Suiting the air of the restaurant, he might come across as a bit snobby and pompous to some. That said, he means well and will do what he can to help out law enforcement should we need to.
No sprite yet.
(formell)
Any voice type accepted, but something in the medium range preferred. Looking for a serious but welcoming voice, perhaps a bit sultry.
The head receptionist at the Fantome d'Or Casino. She takes her job seriously, but might be a bit of a party animal in her personal life. Despite her dedication, she enjoys keeping tabs on workplace drama and rumors. Her personality is mostly up in the air besides this.
No sprite yet.
(begrüßend/geschäflich)
Hallo, willkommen im Fantôme d’Or.
***Southern/Cajun (New Orleans) accent preferred.***
Medium-low voices preferred. Looking for a voice suiting a somewhat-casual, kind-hearted businessman.
The owner of the Fantome d'Or Casino. He's originally from New Orleans, but came to France to try his luck opening a casino since it didn't go so well back home. He loves his job and his employees, and is an honest, responsible man. He doesn't take the murder of one of his dealers so well, seemingly overcome with grief that something like this could happen to someone under his watch.
No sprite yet.
(etwas unsicher)
Also, ich kann es versuchen . . .
I'm basically looking for a Gordon Ramsay impression. Hit me with your best shot.
A chef who's temporarily running the Fantome d'Or Casino's restaurant kitchen. An aggressive man, his patience has been tested by lazy, unmotivated cooks and other drama, and he doesn't give a pig's left arsecheek about your feelings. Basically, he's no-name Gordon Ramsay. He only has two lines, as his appearance is meant to be little more than an inside joke.
No sprite yet.
(grummelig/ungeduldig)
Do schau her, a Schandi! Geh her, was host etzad du inara Kuchn zum Suacha? G’herst du do nei? Ha?{Schau einer an, ein Bulle! Sagen Sie, haben Sie was in einer Küche zu suchen? Hmm?}
(ungeduldig/gerufen)
Na schleich di, du oida Gschaftlhuaba!{Dann sehen Sie gefälligst zu, dass Sie raus kommen!}
Medium voices preferred. Looking for a dull, lifeless, monotone voice. Basically, this: https://youtu.be/pXOlJ4KFuNA?t=37
Another inside joke character. The Sous-Cook (not "The Sous-Chef", for obvious reasons) works with The Cook and says only one thing, ever: "I'm the cook." But now that he's the sous-chef, he instead says "I'm the sous". Because it sounds bloody ridiculous and makes, like, no grammatical sense whatsoever.
No sprite yet.
(monoton/Statement)
Ich bin der sous.
Medium to medium-low voices preferred. Looking for a voice that's suave, cool, and collected. Also, generally unsympathetic and a touch cruel.
A regular patron at the Fantome d'Or Casino, and a big fan of Texas Hold 'Em style poker. Not from France; probably moved there for the women. He's a self-absorbed womanizer with little sympathy for others. He seems to treat love (and life in general) like some big game, calculating every move for his own benefit and no one else's. He's unfazed when Det. Mortensen questions him regarding a murder case; might even take it as a challenge to prove him wrong.
No sprite yet.
Einen Moment noch, Kommissarchen. Weißt du, wie man Texas Hold ’Em spielt?
(leicht beleidigt)
Howdy, Kommissar. Bereit für noch ne Tracht Prügel?
Medium-pitched voices preferred. Looking for a casual, generic female voice, with a bit of a French inflection.
A prior customer at the classy restaurant, Le Jardin des Anges. She’s a little posh, but more or less just a normal person. Not much to say, as she only has a brief conversation with Det. Mortensen over the phone, talking about her visit to the restaurant. Most of her character is therefore up to the actor.
No sprite, as we never actually see her.
Medium-high to high-pitched voices preferred. Looking for a soft-spoken female voice.

No sprite, as we never actually see her.
Ja, das ist richtig. Wer ist da?
Tja, leider nein.
Medium-low to medium-pitched voices preferred. Looking for a somewhat rough female voice with a French inflection.

Medium-low to medium-pitched voices preferred. Looking for a soft-spoken male voice.

Ouais, wer ist da?
War ich, ja, gegen halb acht.
Einen schwarzen De La Chapelle Roadster.
High-pitched voices preferred. Looking for a snooty-ish female voice.

(friendly)
Allô allô?(ein bisschen überrascht/besorgt)
Äh, ja, ja, war ich. Warum? Was ist passiert?(ein bisschen überrascht/besorgt, ehrlich)
Doch, ja. Es saß so ein . . . Mann darin, der hat nur gewartet. Ich hab ihn aber nicht genau gesehen.
Medium to medium-low voices preferred. Looking for a friendly, mature male voice, one that could belong to a caring, open-minded director.
The general director of the local shadow opera house. He's passionate about his job and the performances he directs, but cares more than anything about his actors' well-being. A prideful, high-class type of man, but also humble.
No sprite yet.
Medium to medium-low voices preferred. Looking for a voice capable of expressing madness and desperate-ness.
The costume designer for the local shadow opera house. He makes a short appearance at the end of case five. Having gone mad from his obsession with Elaine Bellerose, he's taken it to the next level by deciding to force her to love him or die. There's no talking him down; he's gone full "yandere" stalker mode.
No sprite yet.
. . Das ist alles, was ich will![wahnsinniger/zur Weißglut gebrachter Schrei]
Medium voices preferred. Looking for a nerdy kind of voice, possibly a bit nasally. Something that kind of grates on the nerves a bit?
The hazzan at a Jewish synagogue, and also the weary son of a fortune teller. He's eager to help people convert to Judaism . . . perhaps, a little too eager. He tends to come off as a bit forceful, using an overly friendly form of peer pressure to convince people to put on yarmulkes, etc. He's also quite worried about his mother's occultic habits, though it does often give him chances to get people to pray and repent to God.
No sprite yet.
(professionell/einladend)
Medium voices preferred. Looking for a kind voice, fatherly and welcoming, but also capable of being stern when necessary.
The father of Simon and Frank Callahan, married to Héloïse. He's an exorcist by trade, though not directly affiliated with the church. Out of the four in the family, he's arguably the most Catholic of them. He takes his wife's side in most conflicts and is always there to comfort her. He's less family-oriented than her, but still cherishes his family. He takes his wife's paranoia of demonic possessions seriously, sometimes taking drastic measures to protect his children, just in case.
No sprite yet.
(väterlich)
Simon!
Medium to medium-low voices preferred. Looking for a soft, timid kind of voice, one that’s shy but also capable of capturing moments of childlike wonder. Returns as a Major role in Parts 3 and 5.
The twin brother of Lt. Simon Callahan. Heavily nurtured by overprotective parents, he’s quite shy, soft-spoken, dim-witted, and naïve, almost to the point of seeming like a child in a grown man’s body. He idolizes his brother to the point of wanting to do anything to join him in Lyon, blissfully unaware that the brotherly love is only partially mutual.
No sprite yet.
(verwirrt, aber freut sich, ihn zu sehen)
Simon, was machst du hier? Ich dachte, do wärst in Lyon.(dankbar/ehrlich)
Low-range voices preferred. Looking for a mature, motherly sort of voice, one that can capture sympathy, anger, and despair, alongside friendly nurturing. Has a few screaming/crying lines.
Mother of Zacharie, Francine is the principal of Collège Beaufort, a local high school in Lyon. She’s dutiful about her job, but nurturing to the children she helps mentor and is especially protective of her son. All that said, she is a genuinely kind-hearted, compassionate woman despite her defensive streak and interest in keeping the school’s public image up, and how she does her best to not take any sass from her pupils or others.

Low to medium-low range voices preferred. Looking for a mature, professional, and unbiased voice, one that sounds befitting of someone reporting a heavy news story on live television. May return with some lines in Part Three.
A newscaster on a local Lyon news station. He reports with the same cadence as a typical newscaster: unbiased, composed, and straight to the facts. Outside of that, most of him is up for interpretation, as he is only ever heard in-game reporting a news story or two.
No sprite, as we never actually see him.
(berichtet/ernst)
Low-range voices preferred. Looking for a stern, mature-sounding male voice, one capable of capturing paternal overprotectiveness and defensiveness, but also sorrow and empathy.
Father of Maci, Célestin is a lonely man, overprotective of his teenage daughter. With no wife to speak of, he maintains that Maci’s mother is dead, and there’s no way he wants to risk the same fate befalling his beloved little girl. He tends to be strict and brusque, though he’s loving to his daughter and would do anything to keep her safe.

Medium-low to medium-range voices preferred. Looking for a casual, outgoing female voice, one capable of seeming hip, trustworthy, and compassionate.
One of two gym teachers at Collège Beaufort, a local high school in Lyon. Courtemanche is a candid woman who enjoys her job, but does tend to get so caught up in fun sometimes that she forgets little things, like where she’s left the keys to the back room of the gym. That said, she’s aware of this fault of hers and isn’t afraid to admit it. She cares about the students she tends to, and sort of sees them all as friends.

Low-range voices preferred. Looking for a cold, sort of smug-sounding male voice, one that can encompass sarcasm, defensiveness, and playful spite.
One of two gym teachers at Collège Beaufort, a local high school in Lyon. Unlike his female counterpart, Dufort doesn’t seem to care much for his job, nor the students under his wing. He doesn’t take any disrespect, though may be quick to dole it out himself. He can, however, be amiable to like-minded individuals like Det. Mortensen. He’s quick to tell the truth, whether it’s hurtful to others or not, and generally keeps to himself whenever possible, not sticking his nose in other people’s business.

Mein Schlüssel hängt immer fest an meinem Hosenbund.
(ehrlich/ein bisschen verunsichert)
Aber Madame Courtemanche . . . sie verliert ihren andauernd. Vielleicht sollten Sie sie mal fragen.
Medium-high voices preferred. Looking for a cocky, snarky voice befitting of a high school bully, capable of encompassing rage, sarcasm, but also veiled pain at the loss of his girlfriend.
Son of one of the vice-principals at Collège Beaufort, a local high school in Lyon. Denis is known to his fellow students as a hot-headed jerk, who has made his name by beating up fellow guys and insulting guys and girls alike. He was often accompanied by his girlfriend, Nathalie Poirier, who was just as nasty as him before her sudden “suicide”. Then, upon being considered as a suspect when her case becomes seen as foul-play, he expresses his anger by screaming at Det. Mortensen, while also admitting he misses his girlfriend and can’t believe she would leave him in such a horrible way. Therefore, despite his brash outward demeanor, it seems he may actually be a caring guy inside . . . though certainly not toward anyone who gets in his way.

Medium-low to medium-range voices preferred. Looking for a sad, emotional, and motherly voice with a French inflection, capable of encompassing sorrow, grief, and anger. Has a few screaming/crying lines.
Mother of Nathalie, Vivianne is a protective, soft-spoken mother. After his daughter’s sudden apparent “suicide”, she is utterly devastated and wrought with grief, blaming herself for not seeing any signs that might’ve allowed her to save her daughter from this horrible fate. Having lost her husband years before, she feels lost now, alone after losing the final piece of her late lover in such an awful, abrupt way. She’s cooperative enough to talk to the police and Det. Mortensen about her daughter, but won’t accept any rude comments from either.

Oh mein Gott . . . mein Baby, ermordet . . . ? Oh Gott . . . Oh mein Gott . . .
(deprimiert/verunsichert/schuldbewusst)
oder hätte ich das sollen? Hätte sie das gewollt? Hat sie deswegen . . . ?
Medium-low voices preferred. Looking for a shy, soft-spoken male voice capable of passing off as a teenager, able to express restrained frustration, and a very quiet demeanor. Has a few screaming lines.
Son of Francine, the principal at Collège Beaufort, a local high school in Lyon. Zacharie is an introvert who has very few friends and often doesn’t feel like he fits in, or is even understood or listened to by his own parents. He had a crush on Nathalie Poirier, a girl in one of his classes, and was talked into asking her to prom by one of her friends, only to be humiliated in front of everyone when she rejected him and mocked him for even trying. Then, he was beaten up by her boyfriend, Denis Traverse, who he now harbors deep disdain for, especially since there’s no chance of him being suspended, due to him also being the child of one of the head staff of the school. All in all, he really just yearns for someone to listen to him, someone who will try to understand his side of the story . . .

Medium-range voices preferred. Looking for a youthful male voice with a French inflection, capable of encompassing guilt, remorse, and insistent sympathy.
Florian is a recent high-school graduate, who has been best friends with Irenée Sauvageon for years. However, all of a sudden, one day he learns that his friend is quite unsound, and may well be a psychopath, after he is wrangled into committing a heinous act with him: dragged along by force to form an attack on a local mall, L'Aimable Auréole. He regrets having gone along with the idea to begin with, having initially assumed it was only a dark joke, and feels immense guilt at what he was forced to do by his former friend. However, he’s afraid to snitch, as Irenée has threatened his life, and he fully believes he is being forced to choose between doing what’s right or keeping himself alive and safe from Irenée’s wrath.

Und dann, heute früh, da . . . kam er vorbei . . . mit Knarren! Es tut mir so leid . . . . . es tut mir leid.
Medium-range voices preferred. Looking for a smug, cold male voice, capable of expressing self-righteousness, sarcasm, and cruel wit befitting of a heartless psychopath.
A recent high-school graduate, Irenée had good grades, but ambitions not requiring post-secondary education. All his life, he’s yearned to make his mark on the world in ways most people would never imagine: he wants to have a “high-score”, in his own words, of bodies dropped. So, roping in the reluctant assistance of his best friend, Florian Lécuyer, he finds a method of acquiring firearms illegally and forms an attack on a local mall, L'Aimable Auréole. He feels no compassion nor remorse for his acts, only pride at having wounded and taken the lives of so many people. There is no fear of consequences in him, not a single shred of humanity beyond his own ego.

Oho!
Cheshire and husband of Lorelle Cheshire, George is a well-paid and open-minded physician who owns a manor/estate in the small village of Catshill.

(entsetzt/verzweifelt)
Nein! Mordecai!
Though, the misfortune that befalls her may not have been what she had in mind . . .

When it’s not riding on Mikkelsen’s shoulder, it tends to sit on tables or other surfaces, whistling odd melodies to itself or repeating certain phrases that its master must repeat around it often . . .

Wach auf! Guter Junge. Wach auf!
