Jack Marlowe: Shadows Between Worlds

Jack Marlowe: Shadows Between Worlds

Project Overview

Shadows Between Worlds is an original noir-inspired supernatural audio drama.

The story follows Jack Marlowe, a hard-boiled detective in a rain-soaked city, who discovers that his latest missing persons case is tied to something far stranger — a hidden Dreamworld lurking just beyond reality.

This is a personal, unpaid passion project. All roles will be fully credited in the final production, and cast members will receive a finished copy of Episode 1.

What we’re looking for:

  • Strong vocal acting with emotional depth.

  • Comfort with noir-style delivery (sharp, grounded, occasionally stylized).

  • Clean audio recordings with minimal background noise.

Episode 1 includes multiple roles: lead, supporting, and smaller atmospheric parts. If you enjoy playing in a moody, cinematic world with mystery and supernatural undertones, this project is for you.

  • The Cast Has Been Selected! 🎙️

    Hey everyone,

I’m thrilled to announce that the cast for Episode 1 of Jack Marlowe: Shadows Between Worlds has officially been selected!

The auditions were absolutely phenomenal — every single submission brought something unique to the table, and it was an incredibly tough call narrowing it down. I want to thank everyone who took the time to audition, share their talent, and bring these noir-world characters to life. You all made this process exciting and inspiring from start to finish.

Now that the cast is set, we’re moving into the recording and post-production phase — bringing the rain-soaked streets, jazz clubs, and otherworldly shadows of this story fully to life.

More updates will follow soon as we head into the recording sessions, but for now — a massive thank-you to everyone who’s supported the project so far. You’ve helped make this dream real.

  • Bartender Role Still Open — More Auditions Welcome!

    Hey everyone,

First off, a huge thank-you to everyone who’s submitted auditions so far — the level of talent has been incredible! We’re still looking for the right voice for the Bartender in Jack Marlowe: Shadows Between Worlds (Act 2).

It’s a short but important supporting role — someone friendly, grounded, and casually matter-of-fact, like a person just doing their job on a late, rainy night. The Bartender delivers key information to Jack without realizing how significant it is, so the delivery should feel natural and effortless — not dramatic.

If you haven’t sent in an audition yet, there’s still time! The deadline is October 27, 2025, and we’d love to hear your take on this pivotal moment in the story.

    🎙️ Audition lines:

    “You Jack Marlowe?”

“Lady in a green dress asked me to give you this. Never saw her leave.”

“You want that rye or not?”

Bring your own spin to it — we’re excited to hear how different interpretations bring the scene to life.

Thanks again to everyone supporting the project and helping shape Shadows Between Worlds!

  • Shadows Between Worlds – Voices in the Rain (Audition Update)

    Hey everyone!

We’re currently going through all the fantastic auditions that have been submitted so far, and I just wanted to take a moment to say thank you. The amount of talent, creativity, and care that’s gone into each performance has been incredible — it’s been such a joy hearing how each of you brought your own interpretation and energy to these characters.

Auditions are still open until the deadline, so if you’ve been thinking about submitting or would like to take a shot at another role, there’s still plenty of time.

This project means a lot to me, and seeing so many talented people take an interest truly means the world. I can’t wait to see how the final cast comes together — thank you all again for being a part of it!

Role assigned to: Kate J. White

Vera Quinn is a mysterious, alluring femme fatale who draws Jack Marlowe into the case. Her voice should carry both elegance and danger — smooth, smoky, with an undercurrent of secrets. She appears vulnerable at times, but always with a sense that she knows more than she’s letting on.

This is a supporting lead role in a noir supernatural audio drama. Vera’s lines often shift between intimate whispers and sharp, commanding tones. The actor should be comfortable delivering both natural dialogue and slightly heightened, stylized noir delivery.

Role assigned to: Culli_VO

Captain Harlow is a seasoned, no-nonsense police captain. Gruff, sharp, and used to being in charge, he has little patience for Jack Marlowe meddling in his crime scenes. His voice should be authoritative, with a weary edge of someone who’s seen too much. A supporting role, but with a strong presence in Act 2.

  • “Walk away, Jack. Do yourself a favor.” (Low, serious warning — more personal than official, almost protective under the gruffness.)

Role assigned to: Koda_Catfeine

A mysterious and unsettling presence. The Cloaked Figure only has a few lines, but they’re crucial for setting the supernatural tone. The voice should be otherworldly — distorted, veiled, or layered with effects (post-production can enhance this). Delivery should be ominous, slow, and deliberate, like a warning from beyond. Gender-neutral.
