It's Emm Dragoness once again, and I thought I'd make this for a few factors:
1. I've seen my fair share of the comic dubs that have been going around on YouTube
1.2. They such a blast to watch and listen
2. I honestly think it's a very cool and amazing mini series (yes I finally got to reading all 4 issues)
And 3... I'm joining the Scrapnik Island dub bandwagon!!! 😊
And yes, extremely much like the casting call I did, I have for everyone the exact same rules/requirements are in effect, such as these:
You need a good, great or at least decent microphone. (Recording on a decent sounding cell phone/smartphone mic is optional as well, not all static-y and kinda muffled please.) Little to no unnecessary background noise or static.

Agh, I don't know why I keep being lazy about coming back to this page but... anyway. I wanted to mention that I'm starting the casting process. And whoever is casted for their respective characters must find time in your schedule to be active to work on my voice direction for the project, with me, voice lines for each issue, and everything else! Keep in mind of the rules for communication methods!
Almost forgot about this project so before I inadvertantly forget again, I just wanted to thank everyone who took the time to audition for this interesting project I'm hoping to realize on my YouTube this October— yes. You heard me. October. I don't have a date when exactly I wanna upload the full dub yet, but I think it should probably line up with the upcoming season, if you know what I mean... 😉
So while I figure out who to cast, I will inform that whoever get chosen to be Sonic: Just know that in the fourth and last issue of the miniseries, there will be a scene that depicts Sonic (assumedly) screaming/yelling in pain, due to the attempted body swap. So for that part, I will need you to to sell the intensity of it, the agony, all that jazz!
As for the actor I cast as Mecha Sonic, there is a famous line in that same issue that he screams out in rage and fury at the Scrapniks, so for this one, makes his cold composure start to crumble before the very "I'll crush you" line. Thanks, and I look forward to hearing from you!
Sonic the Hedgehog is a blue anthropomorphic Mobian hedgehog who possesses the power of super speed. He uses this ability to defend his world from the forces of evil, most notably against the tyranny of evil scientist and longtime nemesis, Dr. Eggman. He and the doctor have fought for some time, with Sonic always thwarting every world-conquering scheme the "omelet dictator" has put forward.
In this miniseries, Sonic is substantially less active in his main, usual heroic duties, his ability to run compromised due to damage from his left ankle as a result of a plane crash and wearing a metallic foot brace because of this, but is still very much present in all four issues. You could say he, in a way, becomes a sorta "dude in distress".
The Sonic voice references in this one to go by are more flexible, so a Ryan Drummond-like, Jason Griffith-like, or Roger Craig Smith-like performance style is completely up to you. But if you would rather not use any of the three and go for more of your own personal take and vocal interpretation on his voice that suits you best, you're free to do that too, which is the most encouraged. Heck, either all four ways are welcome!
[Calling out to him] Taaaiiiils! Where are ya, little bro? Oh, Mr. Proweeer!!
[This line has Sonic sounding fairly confused and pretty disturbed/frightened.] Maybe I didn't wake up from that crash. Maybe this is all just some crazy night–– [He comes to an abrupt pause when he bumps into something behind him. This where he hesitantly finishes the sentence after, with the same aforementioned emotional state.] ––mare.
[Sarcastic and yet annoyed at Mecha Sonic upon returning] Oh, hey there, gruesome. Welcome back.
Miles Prower, more commonly known by his nickname, Tails, is an anthropomorphic Mobian two-tailed fox and best friend of Sonic the Hedgehog.
In this miniseries, Tails and his longtime friend/brother figure Sonic wind up on the island after a very intense storm strikes the plane, forcing an extremely rough crash landing. Now stuck on an island inhabited by abandoned and rebuilt robots, he and his friend fight to survive the kind of mechanical horrors that await them.
Halfway around the series, Tails steps up to the plate to save Sonic after an incident happens involving one of the Mechas, but he doesn't go on the rescue mission alone...

[It's recommended to have him sound like he's attempting to hold back an excited squee bubbling up in him; Very enthusiastic] A whole civilization made from recycled machines and spare parts?! THIS IS INCREDIBLE! 😍

E-117, codenamed Sigma, is a character Sonic and Tails encounter and meet in this mini-series. They are a Super Badnik and formerly one of Dr. Eggman's early E-100 series robots that was left abandoned, much like their Scrapnik allies. They now take residence with them on the island of the series' namesake, along with Mecha Knuckles and Mecha Sonic.
Since this is a character that doesn't make a canon appearance in the games, I strongly encourage you to do your own interpretation for how you believe they would sound. Rule #5 applies for this character. If you'd like to apply filters that are based/inspired by Sonic Adventure's Gamma, you are free to do so.
[Introductory] Greetings, Sonic the Hedgehog. I am E-117 Sigma. You were placed under observation, due to the ankle injury you sustained. Having no knowledge of your situation resulted in an elevation of your stress levels, I surmise. Our intention was not to frighten you. Your forgiveness is requested.
[Inviting] Welcome, gentlemen... to Scrapnik Island!
[Remorseful; blaming himself] Mecha's systems are very... robust. My knowledge of his software's nuances is limited. When I rebuilt him, I attempted to rewrite Dr. Eggman's original programming to the best of my ability. But it would seem my errors are insufficient. His old protocols and subroutines must've reawakened somehow! They are warping his cerebral processor. This is my error, not Mecha's. He is not thinking clearly, Tails.
Despite being the hedgehog's iconic and staple villain of the Sonic franchise, he doesn't really physically appear as himself in the miniseries. At most, he only makes a cameo as a scary, glitchy, distorted memory from Mecha Sonic that merely talks him down with minimal lines.
A Mike Pollock-esque voice portrayal is the preferred way to go, but feel free to do your own take of the character if you want.
[This is his good ol' usual Dr Eggman laugh.] HO-HO-HO-HO!
At L-L-Long last. You are COMPLETE, M-M-Mecha Sonic! You are my greatest creation to date.
[Disappointed and serious] Trash...
Mecha Sonic Mark II, or to be referred simply enough, Mecha Sonic, is one of the various robots made by Dr. Eggman that was crafted to have the likeness/image of his longtime nemesis, Sonic the Hedgehog. At the prime of his creation, he was once praised for being his most prized and most remarkable creation to date. But however, sometime after the events of Sonic and Knuckles/Sonic 3 took place, he eventually ended up on the shore of a junk-filled island. He was eventually fixed, and reprogrammed to not be hostile, by E-117 Sigma. Unfortunately, a fateful encounter in this story has..... an unexpected result for him that should spell trouble.
He now takes residence with them on the island of the series' namesake, along with Mecha Knuckles and E-117 Sigma.
Since this is a character with their only video game appearance being in Sonic and Knuckles/Sonic the Hedgehog 3/Sonic 3 & Knuckles, I strongly encourage you to do your own interpretation for how you believe he would sound. Rule #5 applies for this character.
But if you want to base his voice on Cooler voice clips (something reminiscent of Super Mario Bros. Z), you are free to do so! 👍
[Talking through the Miles Electric.] On the contrary, Sigma. My mind has never been clearer.
[As he talks about being left behind, his voice should have a tinge/small hints of sorrow.] After I was rebuilt, I waited for him. I was so certain he would come find me and we would try again. But instead, he abandoned me... left me here to rust on this 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐬𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐧 𝐣𝐮𝐧𝐤 𝐩𝐢𝐥𝐞. A grave error on his part... [This time for the following sentence should have him sound blatantly vengeful and angry.] ...and now, that error shall be 𝙘𝙤𝙧𝙧𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙚𝙙.
[This will be his reply after Sonic angrily questions what Mecha did to Tails. Also he should sound threatening here.] He's... where he belongs. Don't worry... You'll be joining him 𝙨𝙝𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙡𝙮.
