IDW Sonic Fan Spin Off - FRACTURED CHAOS
Project Overview
Hi there!
I'm primarily a Camera Operator and Video Editor, but since getting into the Sonic Fandom Properly around January 2025, I've found a new appreciation for AU writing and Story creation within the bounds of the Sonic World. So over the past several months, ideas have developed in my head to where I have a full AU story to tell. I've had many commissions made of my characters and how they operate within the Sonic landscape and now I want to give those stories a voice!
I've had a comic cover of one of the early main arcs commissioned from the ever amazing @raeblu.bsky.social and I thought this would be a good starting point as i intend to have more done as the year goes on, the idea is to make short Radio Trailer-esque promotions for each respective arc and then edit together with the covers so as to draw more attention and interest in the AU as a whole.
That's where I need you guys! I want my characters (Both OC and Canon) to have voices, the Canon ones I'm looking to be as Authentic as I possibly can find, whereas the OC ones are more flexible and I am up for discussion of what fits them the best.
As I'm still working on the story as well as character designs, only the core cast will be available to audition for to begin with, but as things get moving I hope to add more of the canon characters as well as more OCs that are to be designed in future.

Marshall is the main crux of the Fractured Chaos Series. He doesn't appear in the story until the end of the first Arc. He is a somewhat Introverted Person to start with as he had a turbulent upbringing similar to tails. He was treated as an outcast due to a "weird vibe" other kids around him would get (rumours of disembodied voices and him talking to himself), But Marshall wasn't one to let his childhood loneliness get him down. One thing that kept him going was his love of music and how it unites people no matter who you are, so he grows up to become a musician and goes on to perform to large crowds under an Alias he calls "INFINA-T" which boosts his confidence to go out and be a presence for people. But over time he soon finds out that his "alt sona" is actually another entity occupying his body and it leads to him finding he has hidden powers that will set him on course to being one of the few things protecting the sonic Multiverse from absolute chaos

*Nervously* Ya know... I wanted to be more, I wanted to be something people could see themselves in... But what if I'm losing what made me.... me?
*confused* Y- you're telling me.... that I can make walls... out of sound?
*concerned* Surge! What's wrong? What happened?! Are you ok?!
In this AU, Surge had their first big fight with Sonic, but then on the fall down, they accidentally hit their head and caused a massive blackout which gave them severe amnesia. After waking up and wondering how they got there, they venture out to try and figure out what has happened to them. Ending up with new threads and a new look, they cross paths with Marshall and this sets her on course to finding a new goal in her life, other than the desire to destroy Sonic.

*mentally Exhausted* After everything I've done..... you're really going to take me back?
Opal is a Fox who couldn't catch a break. After losing her parents in an Eggman attack, she was a smart kid WAY ahead of her classmates and was chastised because of this. It wasn't until people in high places got wind of her vast intellect that she was given the "monumental" opportunity to work for the Esteemed "Dr Ultio Nebulous" for the purposes of bringing "peace" to the world. However, this wasn't as it was made out to be. Opal was tricked into assisting the "good Dr" into finishing his greatest Creation: Metal Surge. Upon discovering this, Opal sabotaged the final prototype and tried to flee, but she couldn't get far before Nebulous found her on her way out. Captured and restrained for the time being, Opal was kept locked up while Nebulous was focused on fixing his Creation ready for a test. It's not until Marshall and Surge come knocking, that paths will be crossed and a team set to protect the multiverse will be formed.

Eon (or 3.ON - The 3rd Generation Operational Neurodroid) is an experimental project from a far off parallel timeline that is aimed at bringing peace to the chaos being brought across the Multiverse, however, his creators have set out Marshall and Surge as targets that are threatening the stability of the multiverse. Upon arrival in the main timeline, Eon is initially hostile to our heroes until Opal's bravery proves to be the turning point. Over time, Opal and Eon develop a very close relationship; Opal will spend many days and nights working on improvements for the Cyborg, while Eon tries his best to learn to be more personal so that he can be a better protector for her as well as serving as a good teammate to Marshall and Surge as they continue to try and defend the multiverse from whatever threat may leer it's ugly head.
Voices do not have to be Robot-ized as I haven't narrowed down the right sound yet, but if you want a try, then I will allow it, but it may affect how I view your audition.

*Official address* Marshall the Cat, you have been found to have caused major disruption to the stability of the Multiverse, please surrender!
*confused* I... don't understand.... why are you protecting these criminals?
I like to think that I am "better"... my Brain and my heart are still organic... The previous two versions were fully robotic... they proved... lacklustre in their testing
Dr Ultio Nebulous, is an Alternate version of Dr Starline from the same timeline as Opal. Nebulous is incredibly vain, but still has his wits about him. But compared to his main Canon-IDW counterpart, when he saw the signs of Eggman not living up to his own expectations, Nebulous dropped him like a dead weight. Now, Nebulous is one of the highest regarded minds on the planet, but he still comes up short in certain areas, so he builds a small workforce of similarly skill-set scientists to try and compliment, without overshadowing his own feats. After the Metal Virus is eventually quelled, Nebulous moves onto his own true passion project, a robotic fighter, intended to be better than Metal Sonic. This results in the creation of "Metal Surge".
Nebulous is also on "The Council", a group of alternate versions of many Sonic Characters from various timelines, all led by Omega Sage, who are all on the task of bringing about a great purge of the multiverse by a natural phenomena called "The Entropy Field". But as long as Nebulous can take pride in defeating anything that he unleashes Metal Surge upon, then he doesn't care much as to what happens to the multiverse, in his mind, it's all for science!

In this universe, Marshall after joining the Restoration develops a family style relationship with the Diamond Cutters, becoming a Sibling figure for Whisper, Tangle, Lanolin and Silver who all regard Marshall as a younger brother to them.

In this story, Sonic is not the Centre of the story... but he may as well be the centre of the Multiverse. This Multiverse revolves around the tale of the Speeding Blue Blur in all forms across Infinity, but he his default version will be a key ally to Marshall and Co as things get chaotic across Time and Space.
Aim for any previous Sonic Voice or anything close to it without sounding corny.

When Marshall joins the resistance, he finds an instant desire to join with Tangle, Whisper and Lanolin in what will become "The Diamond cutters". But Lanolin is reluctant based on his lack of experience, but over time, she comes to find him endearing and admirable. She develops a protective fondness of the Cat and is unsure why, but she knows that he is incredibly pure of heart and deserves all the support he can get.

*building anger* Don't you DARE blame this boy! He's trying just as hard as any of us! As hard as Sonic, or Silver, or even... *gasps* .... Tangle.... *sobs*
*Commanding* Marshall, You, Surge and Opal take a look out at Sunset City, there's some disturbances happening that might just be up your alley!
Silver is trapped, in the past, with all of the Cast. His future is unstable, much more than he's ever known it to be. Something to do with the Multiverse being tampered with means that he is unable to find a point that he can safely return to, so he continues to work with the Diamond Cutters until he can confirm a destination to travel to.
Over time, he comes to appreciate Marshall as a younger Brother in his life, accepting of his future time behaviours and mannerisms as well as supporting one another with their problems.

Omega Sage is the Leader of "The Council", A Group of Sonic Character Variants from Across the Multiverse who have gathered together in order to join forces and act upon the need to bring on "The Entropy Field", A natural Multiverse resetting phenomena that essentially acts as a do-over for when the Multiverse gets too large and overcrowded. However, Omega Sage and the Council wish to take control of the Field and rebuild the Multiverse in their own image.
Omega Sage was a Version of Sage who became TOO intelligent. Their beyond comprehension Intelligence eventually led them to calculate probabilities and become pre-cognitive, and there for able to predict any opponents moves before them. Their Probability calculations lead to them to gradually piece together that the Multiverse was real and how to traverse across the timelines. Now she seeks the crème of the crop of Allies from across various timelines in order to enact her greatest desire; A single universe that only she can control.

*Comforting* Shade... What we are doing is ensuring that the new world we will usher in isn't delayed further than it needs to be... we are putting an end to uncertain chaos in the multiverse... Is that not enough?
*building Frustration* Don't mess with me Doctor... The Chaos Matrix was activated... How? We gave you specific orders NOT to use it until plans were set for your invasion, Why was it activated?
*Seething* ..... *sighs* That... CAT, has been a thorn in my side for far too long... Is Zavoc 205b ready? I think he will pose a much more credible threat to them than Nebulous ever could hope to be....
Dr Eggman is very chaotic across every Multiverse iteration, But for this story, he's more of a comedic Hinderance than an Actual threat, but that doesn't stop him from trying his hardest to cause problems for our heroes.

*Maniacally Laughing* HAHAHAHA! You really thought I would leave a compound like this unguarded?
*Frantically Concerned* It wasn't me! T-their 'Tech wiz' must have tripped a safety protocol while they were messing around inside my code!
*Not Caring* We don't need Back up plans! The Virus is doing it's job and that's all we need to worry about for the time being, Sonic will eventually succumb to it and THEN we might actually think to finding a way to controlling the Zombots!
The Final member of the "Defenders of the Multiverse". A lone survivor from her world, destroyed by Dr Nebulous in a fit of rage, Zoe dug into the rubble of Restoration HQ and put together what she could to help her survive. After finding old Blueprints from Tails Archive for a new Hammer model for Amy, Zoe constructs what she calls "Old Faithful" and vows to bring down punishment on Nebulous to avenge her fallen friends and neighbours. Zoe, by the nature of her universe, is a typically calm and collected individual, her world knew many years of peace and serenity before the inevitable happened. Now she tries her best to control her emotions, but occasionally, she will lose herself, especially if her new found family is threatened. She now spends her time as a big Sister to both Marshall and Opal.
