Hidden Town (ORIGINAL ANIMATED YOUTUBE SERIES)
Project Overview
(Still a WIP casting call, I still have much to add.)
Hey! Hidden Town is a solo-animator project that I'm gonna be putting up on Youtube! Oh but of course, I'm gonna need voice actors. If the show makes any money, I will happily pay anyone who's involved! But for right now, it's just a passion project I'd love to work on. There area LOT of characters and roles that need to be filled, so feel free to audition for multiple!
IMPORTANT INFO:
- Only one person writing, storyboarding, and animating a whole show will take a VERY long time. This is a long-term project. If you audition expecting to get a role, please know that you must be in it for the long run.
- You must have Discord. If you absolutely cannot get it, then I at least need a surefire way to contact you.
- Please have a decent microphone.

Misty is a main character. She's a very cheerful, highly religious 17 year old who is being manipulated by a fake God. She's always very happy, but you must be able to encapsulate sadness and other emotions too.
It doesn't matter if she has an accent or not!
(Happy lines)
(1) Toryn! Salutations! Lord Rafael asked us to burn this Bible. Quick, find Hailey and Wilbur.
(2) Father, you're so silly! Always worrying so much... I can handle myself, I promise.
(3) No no, you don't understand quite yet. First you must substitute pleasure for pain, because there's so much to earn from that. Then can you open up your mind, therefore opening up your heart! Amen!
(Confused lines)
(1) You're REALLY God? Truly?
(2) You... Tricked me. Why would you? I put all of my trust into this. Into YOU. What did I do wrong? Please forgive me.
(3) I don't see how this is useful, Lord. Are we not just hurting people...? That is not your intention, right?
Rafael is the main antagonist of the series, having precognition and tricking multiple people into thinking he's a God. He needs to have a voice that can be serious, goofy, menacing, and soft all at once. It's a tough one!
It doesn't matter if he has an accent or not!
(Menacing/persuasive lines)
(1) Do you not believe me? I predict you'll die in 3 days in the most likely reality... I can change that outcome. Don't you want to live?
(2) Misty, I need you to do something for me. Grab Bodie and Tinsley, and your weird humanoid guard dog too. I'm going to become the ruler of everything.
(3) You're unhappy, aren't you? Yes, I can see it on your face... You need to get away.
(Goofy lines)
(1) What!? No! I am NOT the guy in the trees, there's no guy in the trees here! What even ARE trees? Wh- LISTEN TO ME WHEN I'M TALKING TO YOU!
(2) Tinsley... WHY IS MY ROBOT ON FIRE!? Fire was NOT in the requirements! Fix it!
(3) Oh well, time for you to face the consequences of your actions! Bye bye!
(Soft lines)
(1) Vivian...? I thought I'd never see you again.
(2) You hate me. You hate everything I've become. And trust me, I do too...
Wallace is the goofy old mayor of the town, who is secretly the antagonist mastermind. His voice should be silly, but you must also be able to switch into a serious tone.
He MUST have an English accent!!
(Goofy lines)
(1) Ah, welcome to my lovely Hidden Town! Yes, it is the light of the NATION I presume! But enough of that jibber jabber, let us take a tour, shall we?
(2) What's wrong, chap? Turn that frown, SIDEWAYS! Or however the saying goes!
(3) Lad, don't do that! Just think about it for one second.
(Serious lines)
(1) Silas, son. I want you to slay that godforsaken beast that lives in these woods. The one aiding that little girl, Anderson's lass. If you tell anyone, I must say, then you may not see your 19th birthday.
(2) So you found out. And? Vivian, we both want the same thing! Some of us are just more determined. Some of us will do ANYTHING. Unlike you.
Vivian is a main protagonist, Rafael's childhood friend, and basic overseer of the town. She's a blind recluse, too. She must have a very soft and calming voice, but you should be able to be loud just in case she needs to yell.
It doesn't matter if she has an accent or not!
(Soft lines)
(1) Twila. It's going to be okay. Nobody will hate you, and if they do, I'll make sure they never say it again. Okay love?
(2) The rain is nice. It gives you a moment to think about how you'd like to improve yourself.
(3) These days it's hard to find people you trust, but opportunities can bend. It's a little bit of magic to end the world.
(Stern lines)
(1) Rafael! What on Earth has gotten into you? You're better than this.
(2) No. I said, no. You can't charm your way out of this one. We know what you've done, all of us. I've suspected it from the start. I hoped and prayed that it wasn't true, but here we are...
Silas is Wallace's son, and sworn protector of Hidden Town. He's usually angry and stern (not necessarily yelling) when he speaks, but again, you should be able to embody other emotions with him too.
It doesn't matter what accent he has!
(Angry/Stern lines)
(1) I won't rest! It- HE needs to be gone! It's my job, I've trained, if I don't do my job then who am I? As long as he's alive, I'll never rest.
(2) What's your name? Wilbur, you said? Wilbur, that show was pathetic.
(3) You LIED to me, father! For years! All I'm being used for is... is some kind of WEAPON! Who even are you?
(Still has that angry tone of voice but it's soft now)
(1) I don't know, for some reason I just felt... drawn to you. You sucked on stage, and you definitely weren't impressing anyone with your stupid little bowtie, but I just knew you were trustworthy. I can see now that it's surefire true.
(struggling to say 'sorry') (2) I'm s- s... soorr.... ssssssss-! SORRY! I'm sorry. For how I acted toward you. I guess I am just a dumb brute after all.
Toryn is a main anti-hero and the ancient beast that is basically Misty's bodyguard. He's very loyal, but he can be a bit goofy sometimes. He should sound like a goofy teenager, really, but he also gets angry so make sure you can do that.

(1) [Yawns] Wow, that was a good 2000 year nap! Just five more minutes, please?
(2) Alright, attagirl Misty! I love fire! Who are we gonna kill? Anyone? What about this little human? I've got good teeth- [Gasp] LET'S SACRIFICE HIM!
(As if you're trying to scare someone) (3) Oooooh, it must be ghosts! Spooky! Don't let 'em eat your brains out, heheh...
(Angry lines)
(1) What did I do to you!? Leave me alone, or I'll knock you so hard your spine'll come outta your ears!
(2) Wilbur? You... You helped him? You're helping him KILL ME? Agh, I knew I shouldn't have trusted anyone other than Misty! I hate you! I hope Rafael is right, and you die within the next few weeks!
Hailey is a main character and the local drunk/forest dweller. She aids both sides of good and evil, simply because she's "bored." She always sounds like she doesn't care.
It doesn't matter if she has an accent or not!

(1) Eh, whatever, what's the worst that could happen? You're only young once I guess. Anyways, who are we suiciding again?
(2) Hey, do you ever wonder about things?... Yeah, me neither.
(3) I'll help you if you got money. Viv, c'mon. I've been setting things on fire with some 8 year old girl. I have standards.
Wilbur is a main character, and a very skittish and lawful person. He's very stuttery, and I expect him to sound about his age, which is 16. He also usually sounds nervous, but again, please be able to emulate any emotion.
It doesn't matter if he has an accent or not!

(1) W-wait, you didn't like the show...? As expected... I don't know why I believed in myself this time, heh. They all just looked at me like I was delirious or something!
(2) Misty, are you sure that's safe- TORYN OH MY GOD!?
(3) Wait, I.... I wanna help! I know I don't look like someone who could help, but I want to try my best. Maybe this is an opportunity.
(Sad/angry lines)
(1) SILAS! STOP! Please, d-don't hurt him! I'm sorry, I can't let you. If you take him, you take me, a-and that's a fact!
(2) I don't know, sometimes it just feels like... Sometimes it just feels like nobody takes me seriously. I spend all my effort trying to look good for other people, I never even look good enough for myself.
Tinsley is a main character, and someone Rafael tries to manipulate. She works with Gooden in his shop, and loves making mechanical robots. She is always happy even though he has the worst luck in the world and many bad things happen to her. She's mainly a comedic relief character, but she's still sad sometimes.
It doesn't matter if she has an accent or not!

(1) Oh yes, my day was great! Other than the fact that my house burned down, then I got run over by a car, then I got mauled by a bear, then I got chased by angry skunks, then-
(2) Well, sir, I don't know what to tell you! It's a dancing robot, take it or leave it.
(3) Raph, my dude. As someone who has broken every bone in her body, I can tell you that it's nothing to worry about. See, I can still move it!!
(Confused/sad lines)
(1) I'm sorry. I just wanted to help!- Is the best I can do still not good enough?
(2) I just need to stop thinking this is happy... I'm- I'm not happy.
Bodie is a main character and someone who Rafael tries to manipulate. He's the neighbourhood romantic, he flirts with practically everyone. He's usually laid back and everyone loves him. You've just gotta sound like a huge flirt, really.
It doesn't matter if he has an accent or not!
(Normal/Confident lines)
(1) Awhhh, come on, honey. Don't you love me when I disappear, now!
(2) Tilly, you need to chillllll. No girls are gonna like you if you're acting like a fool all the time. You just need to look her up and down, and go... "Hey there." Works like a charm every time.
(3) Maybe this isn't such a good idea. I have a reputation to keep up, you know.
(Solemn lines)
(1) Don't you know why I do what I do? Ever since I can remember, I've had to keep up my good looks and good charm. Nobody... Nobody even knows who I really am. I've spent so long remembering every person in town's name, I've spent so much money buying flowers. When do I ever receive flowers, though? Maybe I want flowers.
Anderson is a supporting character and Misty's father. Like Wilbur, he's very nervous and stuttery, he can never make decisions either.
It doesn't matter if he has an accent or not!

(1) Gooden, you've always talked about this "Interpretation" stuff. It's untrue! There are two sides to every coin. Black & white, yes & no, night & day... Good & evil. And I fear Misty is on the wrong side of the coin.
(2) Well, Wallace, it's been a while old friend. Pleasure to see you! One question though, how did you get in my house-
(3) MY DAUGHTER IS RUNNING AROUND WITH A BUNCH OF HOOLIGANS DOING RITUALS!! WHERE DID I GO WRONG, LYDIA!?
Gooden is a supporting character and Tilly & Spring's father. He has a shop and make machines, Tinsley is his pupil. He's very goofy and a comedic relief character. sometimes he says things that doesn't make any sense.

(1) I don't want to get political or anything, Anderson, but I'm pretty sure your daughter is a Satanist.
(2) Welcome to my shop! Come in, come in. Please don't eat any of the attractions because that has definitely happened before!

Tilly is a main protagonist. He's very excitable, obsessed with Bodie, and can be kind of stalkerish at times. He's a very bubbly person, though, and it should reflect in his voice. You should be able to emulate any emotion!

(1) Oh my god, Haizel, did you see that girl look at me? Haizel she looked at me!! Bodie's advice is really working!
(2) What? Pff, no. No, no, no, it's ADMIRATION. Just because I have pictures and a shrine and I even made scented candles of him- It's admiration. Really!
(3) DAD HELP SOME EMO IS TRYING TO TAKE OVER THE WORLD AND HE HAS BODIE WE NEED TO HELP HIM!! Oh yeah, and Tinsley I guess. ...Maaaaybe I shoulda told you that part first-
(Sad lines)
(Mostly disappointed) (1) Yeah, no, she just sent back all 56 of my love letters with all of the spelling mistakes corrected... I cried for 4 days.
(2) Escaping myself? What? No, that's- I- I don't need anyone's validation, I promise! Not even Bodie's. I'll... I'll show you. Really.
Haizel is a supporting character, and Tilly's best friend. She sometimes speaks in accidental rhymes, and has anger issues. So you need to be able to sound angry!!

(1) No, Tills, that's not how you do it! You should do something romantic... Like write a poem. A sonnet, a ballad- [Gasp!] What about a Haiku!?

Twila is a minor character and someone that Vivian has taken in. She has a very shy personality and she's very quiet.

(2) Oh, I'm not sure. They may hate me. Maybe I'm better off in the Twilight Woods than the town.
Spring is a minor character and Tilly's sister. She's a sarcastic, tired person. She sounds very tired too.
