Hazbin Hotel Pilot: The Happy Hotel Dub
Project Overview
What is this?
This is going to be a fandub for the pilot of the animated series, Hazbin Hotel. Stick around for the long run if you're cast folks because we plan on dubbing the series as we go along.
For those of you unfamiliar with the series, Hazbin Hotel is the story of Charlie, the princess of Hell, as she pursues her seemingly impossible goal of rehabilitating demons to peacefully reduce overpopulation in her kingdom. She opens a hotel in hopes that patients will be "checking out" into Heaven. While most of Hell mocks her goal, her devoted partner Vaggie, and their first test subject, adult film star Angel Dust, stick by her side. When a powerful entity known as the "Radio Demon" reaches out to Charlie to assist in her endeavors, her crazy dream is given a chance to become a reality.
Requirements:
1. Please make sure your microphone is capable of recording your voice without picking up overwhelming background noises or excessive peaking/clipping.
2. You must have a Discord account, as the project will be going into production over there.
3. Your voice files must be sent in a .wav format, though if it ends up too big, .mp3 files will do as an alternative.
4. You need to have a very clear idea of both the character you're auditioning for. Watch the pilot again if you need a refresher.
5. Open Ethnicity, POC Actors HEAVILY encouraged to audition.

Charlie Mange is the Hellborn princess of Hell, the founder of the Happy Hotel, and the protagonist. Charlie is compassionate and empathetic to a fault, feeling genuine upset at the idea of harm coming to others. Although she isn't unaware that Hell is populated with souls that have committed egregious acts in their living lives, she still views their yearly extermination as a senseless waste and makes it her mission to help them avoid it via self-betterment and eventual redemption, something she is seemingly alone in believing is possible. Charlie's idealism, while setting her apart from many of her hell-born peers, can also make her naïve to many of the harsh realities that appear to stand in the way of her potential success - something her girlfriend, Vaggie, tries to remind her of, only to be cheerfully ignored in favor of a more blinkered, sunny optimism. This can also cause her to rush headlong into the initial stages of her plans without much preparation. Charlie has a love for musical theatre, song, and dance, and will often convey her emotions and ideas through show tunes and ballads. Despite being sweet and lacking 'street-smarts', this doesn't make Charlie a pushover or stupid. When people insult her or openly mock her ideas and plans, she has no hesitation in standing up for herself.

Vaggie is Charlie's girlfriend and the manager of the Hazbin Hotel. Vaggie is a pragmatic and cautious young sinner, who devotes a great deal of her time towards attempting to support Charlie with her vision for the hotel, as well as guide her away from as much trouble or humiliation as possible. It's unclear whether Vaggie fully buys into Charlie's proposed concept for redemption, but she passionately defends it from more skeptical sinners nonetheless. Vaggie appears to be fairly prudent in business, trying her hardest to fill her designated role as hotel management, even with an initial lack of resources and a very run-down property to operate out of. Loyal and kind to those she cares for, but short on patience and trust, Vaggie tends to be very reactive and often takes an immediate defensive stance (with an offense at the ready) when it comes to dealing with potential threats, towards either herself or Charlie. She is also relatively easy to bait past the point of irritation and into more rash explosiveness, as others are quick to discover.

Angel Dust is an adult film star in Hell who was elected to be the first patient the Happy Hotel attempts to redeem, Angel's selfish actions of using the hotel as a rent-free living space threaten to jeopardize Charlie's dream. Angel is brash and sarcastic, with a quick, sharp wit. He will often use these traits to deflect criticism or insults, and side-step responsibility. He will switch between playful and destructive as he pleases, and his humor tends to be crude and crass, with an emphasis on dirty jokes and innuendo, which he feels is expected of him and actively plays into. He is stylish and performs with an excessive amount of confidence with his public persona, being wildly flirtatious and interested in receiving positive attention for his looks and the profile he has made for himself in Hell. As a result, Angel can often appear flippant and callous, but in reality, he is preemptively defensive and hides much of his true, more sensitive, and insecure, self for his protection, not expecting those around him to show him kindness. Angel does have friends, and while he cares about them and will sometimes show signs of wanting to reach out, he keeps many walls up between himself and others, being very protective of his true feelings and avoiding holding overly emotional relationships. He holds cynical views on the idea of redemption, although he seems to still hold onto a small hope it may be possible for him.

Alastor, aka The Radio Demon, is one of the many Overlords of Hell. Alastor stands out from many of the more chaotic residents of hell for his well-maintained amiable persona. He gives the first impression of a good-natured and charming man, wearing a permanently wide grin on his face at all times. Alastor's behavior, mannerisms, and even his voice are similar to an old-fashioned radio announcer, and speaks with a transatlantic accent, often using quaint anachronisms such as "the picture show" and refers to Charlie as a "charming demon belle". This playful dandyish exterior, however, obscures a much darker side to him - one with high levels of self-importance - and he will not hesitate to use physical violence when others don't act in line with his very particular values or expectations. He values good manners, affability, and intelligence very highly in others, and will actively look down on those who do not meet his standards, however, he will often play fast and loose with these arbitrary rules in regards to himself and his conduct. His smiling is also a show of power and dominance, and miserable people are seen by him as weak. Alastor has an odd sense of morality, which is described as "not normal", and has been noted to be quite sadistic, even cannibalistic. He is noted to be narcissistic, not seeing many people quite up to his level. However, that does not make him reckless. Despite being extremely powerful, Alastor is aware that there are other demons and entities that rival him in terms of power, such as other Overlords. For this reason, he is wary around such demons, as they could potentially harm him if he is not careful. Despite everything, Alastor does genuinely seem to want to help Charlie run the Happy Hotel, albeit for his amusement, and hopes for its failure over siding with her idealism. Alastor also dismisses the idea that redemption is possible as laughable. He views the whole endeavor as a fun distraction from his decades of boredom.

Husk is the front desk clerk and bartender at the Hazbin Hotel. Husk is a grumpy, lazy, and apathetic old sinner, who is generally uninterested in most things that fall outside of his now very narrow interests; namely gambling, parlor tricks, and prolific drinking. He can be gruff, sarcastic, and even vulgar at times, with a propensity to swear. Despite this, he is said to also be surprisingly patient and able to take outlandish events in his stride, electing to drink his problems away later. He is also said to be something of a softy deep down, and even quite sweet.

Niffty is a Sinner Demon who works as both the maid and cook for the Hazbin Hotel. Niffty is hyper, spontaneous, and agile, being very quick on her feet. She is easily entertained, easily distracted, and easily excitable. She dislikes when there is a mess in any room and has a fixation on men in general.

Cherri Bomb is one of Angel Dust's close friends and a frequent partner-in-crime. Cherri is shown to be daring, bold, and determined. She is self-confident and constantly smiles broadly, taking pleasure in committing arson and other various crimes. Despite this wild and carefree persona, Cherri is shown to have a more sensitive side as well.

Sir Pentious is an inventor and his goal is to conquer Hell using his machines and army of Egg Bois. Sir Pentious is bombastic, flamboyant, short-tempered, temperamental, and persistent, his personality appearing to take cues from classic 'mustache-twirling' stock villains. He takes a huge amount of pride in his grandiose ideas of how evil and cunning he is. Sir Pentious is oblivious to sexual innuendo and tends to take the things said to him very literally.

The Egg Bois are Sir Pentious' minions. Each of them has a number written on their back to help identify them. They're known to be goofy, oblivious, and a little slow.

Katie Killjoy is the head anchor of 666 News, Hell's premier news station. Katie is arrogant, selfish, and narcissistic. She cares mostly about her own image, the hottest stories, and the latest gossip. She doesn't seem to care about, or even acknowledge Charlie's royal position in Hell, and openly expresses contempt for her and her ventures. She's also shown to be homophobic. Katie is aggressive and seems to always be on edge. At the same time, Katie does not tolerate insults in her direction.

Tom Trench is a co-anchorman at 666 News. Tom has something of a perverted personality, as he frequently makes sexual comments while covering stories on the 666 News.

Travis is the taxi driver who escorted Angel Dust after the latter sucks him off for a quick buck. Travis is a sleazy and crude demon who seems to dislike not having the last word. He is quick to sulk when people return his insults. He's portrayed as hypocritical and disrespectful, happily soliciting Angel's services while married, but still looking down on his profession, gleefully throwing targeted insults his way.
