RECAST. LATE 20'S/EARLY 30'S. Flirtatious and confident. Femme fatale-type.
"Everything’s negotiable. You got enough cash, I’ll sell it to you right now."
"Kinda gotta plane to catch there, hero-man."
"Look at what happened tonight. Look what you did.
I can’t take your money. "
EARLY/MID 30's. BRITISH ACCENT. A bluntly honest, usually sarcastic woman with a long history as a professional spy and superhero. In the context of this comic, she's heartbroken and in her feelings - it manifests in anger she usually has control over.
[Professional, acting as mentor to a young woman to get information out of her]
"I don't want to talk about him anymore. This isn't about him. This is about being an Avenger. And last night, an Avenger may have been wrapped up with a murderer. An Avenger might be in a mess where he's inadvertently aiding and abetting. So Kate, I need you to ask yourself --
Are you an Avenger or not?"
[Angry, tapering into restrained sadness]
"Shut up. It's not that you clearly thought... sleeping around, was acceptable? It's not that I meant so little to you that you felt so *compelled* to sleep around... It's that... I will bet, with everything I have, that it never *once* occurred to you that sleeping around would hurt me. That you thought we were just...
...having some laughs."
[Spiteful, trying to hurt ex's feelings]
"You're so wrapped up in hating yourself that any time anybody starts to care about you or god forbid you start to care about them... You push them away. You did it to me. You did it to Bobbi. You bailed the second it got difficult."
EARLY/MID 30'S. AMERICAN ACCENT. A laid-back, good-humored and confident spy. Typically guarded, plays off most of her earnest feeling with indifference, using action as a distraction. Non-confrontational, somewhat maternal.
[Bantering with ex-husband, checking out a vehicle parked across the street that her husband calls [" A Van and not just a van"...]
"Clint... even for *you*, that makes no sense. Let me--
Oh wow. You're right. That is completely and 100% a van."
[Carefully approaching an emotionally heavy subject with some humor, hint of remorse...]
"Well, there you go, Clint Barton. You're... officially divorced. Happy Valentine's Day."
[To herself, quietly concerned...]
"Clint Barton, what on Earth have you gotten into...?"
EARLY/MID 30'S. A stoic, serious spy.
[Using information as intimidation technique.]
"Darlene. Penelope. Wright. From what do you run, Darlene Penelope Wright? And what the hell does it have to do with Clint Barton?"
[Defending her partner's vulnerability.]
"Clint Barton's the last man I'd call a regular guy."
[Responding to a claim that they're in over their head with this particular threat, a little offended]
"Like hell. We're The Avengers. Earth's Mightiest Heroes.
Grumpy, depressed, elderly man from Queens.
[With indifference, swigging beer]
S'just water, boy. Let it all wash away.
EARLY/MID 30'S, POLISH. A stoic and sociopathic clown-themed assassin.
[Menacingly...]
I told you. I came from hell.
MIDDLE AGED-SENIOR ROLES for various New Jersey male extras.
Be cool -- Everybody be cool...
'Zat a bow and arrow?!
They ain't goin' nowhere though, least till the cops get here.
MID 40'S. Chinese American Crime Lord
Tch.
Fine. Let him get his whole family killed barking up a tree.
Wealthy female extra. Stuck in a building, waiting out a storm.
Kate... How much longer do we have to stay? My mom's in pretty rough shape. She needs her meds and-- Mom won't last that long.
...Kate?
KATE!!
