General Info:Hallownest: Soulsong is a fan redub of Hollow Knight inspired by the module, Hallownest: Vocalized. The recordings will then be edited over new gameplay footage, provided by me.
Will casting be gendered?While casting for Hallownest: Soulsong will not be strictly gendered, sometimes gender is part of the voiceprint that makes a character recognizeable. For example, The Last Stag has an extremely gruff, low voice, and an actor's vocal range will factor heavily into the consideration - hence, why we have gendered voiceprint tags. Most of the time, however, the voiceprint tags are just a suggestion. Feel free to give it a try even if you don't think you have a high chance!
Why are there MSVAs and BSVAs?In addition to dubbing the game, we will also be doing 'with lyrics' covers (ex. Grimm - MOTI ft. Alex Beckham). Any boss with a unique theme will receive a 'with lyrics' cover!
Woah! That's a lot of characters...Good observation! Our goal is to cast people for multiple roles so that it's not impossible to organize. That means that YOU ARE ENCOURAGED TO AUDITION FOR MULTIPLE CHARACTERS. I cannot stress this enough. If you audition, please do so for several characters! Since we are mostly a VA fancast, this takes way less long than singing fancasts!
What are these tags with names about?Originally, the game is voiced in gibberish, mostly be members and friends of Team Cherry (characters will say things like "habdabas geo!" and "garamas!", or "bapanada" instead of English). Because the cast size is so huge, plenty of the original actors also play multiple characters. These tags are there to help you identify characters with similar voices!
William Pellen: William plays mostly silly characters with versatile cartoonish voices that don't always sound "realistic", per se. If this sounds like you, go for some of his roles!
Ari Gibson: Ari plays characters with low, gruff voices. If this sounds like you, go for some of his roles!
Makoto Koji: Makoto plays characters with higher, sometimes more childlike voices. If this sounds like you, go for some of her roles!
There are other voice actors in the original cast but these three make up a majority of the original voiced characters. That being said, not all characters were originally voiced!

Ze'mer, along with Ogrim is one of the last two remaining Great Knights. Her fall from glory combined with the loss of her lover resulted in her new epithet, the Grey Mourner. She wants nothing more than to deliver one last Delicate Flower to her lover's grave all the way across the kingdom.
Personal headcannon: I imagine Ze'mer having a Nigerian/Igbo accent, but I will accept any non-natively English accent (anything that isn't American/Canadian/British/Irish/Australian/New Zealander - if there's an easier way to phrase this please let me know).
