Haikyuu Fandub {Voice Actor Recast} {Audio Engineer Needed}

Project Overview

What is Haikyuu About?

Junior high school student Hinata Shouyou gains a sudden love of volleyball after seeing a national championship match on TV. Although short in height, he becomes determined to follow in the footsteps of the championship's star player, nicknamed the "Little Giant", after seeing his plays. He creates a volleyball club and begins practicing by himself. Eventually, 3 other members join the team by his last year of middle school, pushing Hinata to persuade his two friends who are in different clubs to join just for the tournament. However, they are defeated in their first tournament game after being challenged by the championship favorite team, which includes the so-called "King of the Court" Tobio Kageyama, in the first round. Though Hinata's team suffers a miserable defeat, he vows to eventually surpass Kageyama and defeat him. Fast-forward to high school, Hinata enters Karasuno Highschool with the hopes of joining their volleyball club. Unfortunately for him, the very person he swore to surpass appears before him as one of his new teammates. At first Hinata and Kageyama are unable to work together, causing the team captain to kick them out of the club. The two decide to challenge the elder members of the team to a match, hoping that if they win they will prove they can work together and be allowed to rejoin. The team captain accepts the challenge and working with another member of the team, Hinata and Kageyama win the match and are let back into the club. By combining the genius-like qualities of Kageyama with Hinata's sheer athleticism, the duo creates an invincible brand-new volleyball tactic. Their new combo allows them to get over their differences and creates a strange alliance between the two filled with fun and laughter for them and their teammates. Thus begins the Karasuno boys' volleyball team's journey to the top.

Why Did I Start This?

 Back in Mid-January of 2016, I loved Haikyuu and many others did too which made me sad when I heard that they probably weren't going to make a dubbed version which is why I decided to make a fandub!! It originally started on my Tumblr page and I have spread it to some VA communities such as voiceacting.proboards and voiceactingalliance ( When it was still up ) along with other social media such as Instagram and Reddit.

We currently have most of Karasuno cast along with some others.

Perpetually sullen and undeniably short-tempered, Kageyama originally came off as a typical overbearing perfectionist, caring only about winning and completely disregarding the opinions and well-being of his teammates. His habit of complaining about their performance and barking orders at them eventually led the other players in Kitagawa Daiichi to nickname him the "King of the Court", a constant reminder of the oppressive, egocentric attitude he demonstrated during his volleyball career in junior high. Since joining Karasuno, he has grown to be more respectful of his upperclassmen (Sugawara and Asahi in particular), as well as more accepting of people whose abilities and/or views differ from his own (like Tsukishima), and has come to once again understand the importance of teamwork and mutual trust in the sport he treasures so much.

  • You guys.
    You're not even on the bench.
    You think you're good enough to look down on your opponent?
    Don't ride the coattails of your school's reputation.

  • The last ones standing are the victors.
    Only the strongest.
    If you want to be the last one standing, become strong.

  • Dammit! I have no time to waste like this. I'm gonna make them let me in.
    {Hinata: You realize we're teammates now?}
    I'm a force to be reckoned with. That's reasoning enough for me to be on the team.
    {Hinata: Just what I'd expect from the King— Anyway, what are you going to do?}
    I'll challenge them to a two-on-two match. If we win, they have to let us in.
    If we team up, we'll appear friendly no matter how we feel. That will speed things up.
    {Hinata: We're going to challenge our senpais? What if we lose?}
    We won't lose. You have me on your side.
    {Hinata: Is this guy for real? Does he really mean what he says?}
    You just need to do the best you can... to not to get in my way.
    {Hinata: Huh? Do you think anyone would agree to that and be all I'll do the best I can"?}
    So what do you suggest? Keep gazing through that window?
