Project Overview
FANTASY | ROMANCE | DRAMA
The Wind of Thebia in the South, the Fire of Drarius in the East, the Waves of Merris in the North and the Earth of Terah in the West. That is how Eos was formed. But now, centuries later, the empires are at risk when a goddess gets a vision of a mythical staff that could shift the balance between the gods and their mortal followers. She must not only find and destroy it, but even more importantly, convince other gods that this is a threat they all should care about.
RULES
Clear microphone: you don’t need a professional microphone, just make sure there is no background noise or peaking.
Each line must be said two - three times.
Use emotion
Be committed - the series has 10 episodes and sims machinima take a long time to make, so the project will go on for a while.
Have fun - play around with the lines and make them yours. If you think you have a way of making a character sound better by changing some words or the line completely - do it. The characters are as much yours as they are mine.

(*: Most of the characters in the series have LGBTQ identities, however everyone is free to audition regardless of their orientation. The series will include occasional swearing and alcohol, as well as sexual themes, however it won’t be explicitly shown and definitely WON’T be anything you’ll need to voice.)
This casting call features 11 characters, however there is a lot more of them, that I didn't include, so I might ask you to voice one of them. I will also need a lot of extras.

PHARAOH OF THEBIA GODDESS OF LIFE PROTECTOR OF WOMEN

The daughter of the most beloved ruler that Thebia has ever had is trying her best to continue her mother’s legacy. She uses her power of life to create a sanctuary for women - a garden where, in exchange for becoming her servants, all women can stay and live life in peace, never ageing. She is strong and powerful, however those opposing her love to bring up that she has not found a husband yet.
(determined) I’m not here to entertain. I’m here to rule. You’re not the pharaoh anymore, stop trying to make decisions for me.
(soft) You can stay with me, if you want. I can protect you. I promise you that as long as you stay in this garden, no man will dare to lay a hand on you.
(bittersweet) I’ll make you proud, mother. I promise you.

GODDESS OF DEATH

Astarte’s older sister, who was banished from the palace after being accused of killing their mother - something that people think wouldn’t be too out of character for the cannibalistic goddess of death. Now she keeps to herself in the underworld and has grown tired of trying to prove her innocence.
(bitter) Even when facing death itself you’d rather pray to my sister than address me by my name. Pitiful humans.
(distant, retelling a prophecy) I saw a war. A war so big and devastating that words can’t describe the horrors it would bring. All nations of Eos were turned against each other in what seemed like the end of the world.
(affectionate) Oh, my dear little sister. (cold) I’ll rip my heart out of my bare chest and test it on that scale before I set foot in that place again.
YANFEI (she/her) (YEN-FAY)
DRAGON QUEEN, EMPRESS OF DRARIUS, GODDESS OF LOVE & BEAUTY

Yanfei is an infamous goddess from the dynasty of dragons that is known for her unorthodox ways of getting what she wants. Even though she is actually very smart and calculating, others underestimate her because of her beauty. One of the only ones that sees her as their equal is Astarte - perhaps that is why she holds a special place in Yanfei’s heart.
(taunting) Isn’t it funny that the goddess of life doesn’t have a child of her own? Not even a husband?
(seductive, half whisper) I know exactly what you want right now. And I can give it to you. But first, I need you to tell me everything you know about the prophecy.
(sincere) I trust you, I always have. But … where do we go from here? Where do we even start?
NEFERU (she/her) (Neh - feh - ru)
VEZIER OF THEBIA

Neferu was supposed to become the next pharaoh, but her plan was ruined when her parents found the goddess of sun - the first goddess Thebia has had in years - and decided to raise her as their daughter. Neferu was given the position of a vezier and helped lead Thebia together with her sister and after her passing even sat on the throne as the pharaoh, while she was waiting for her niece to grow old enough to rule. Because of Astarte’s powers she has managed to stay alive for centuries, despite being a mortal. She acts as a motherly figure in her life and always does what she deems best for the empire.
(stern) You’re over 200 years old. I think it’s time you stop playing games. You’re a pharaoh, a fertility goddess and yet you still don’t have a husband? Is this some sort of a joke to you? What will people think of you? Of this empire?
(intrigued) I thought the staff was a myth. Are you saying it actually exists?
(furious) I always knew you were too dangerous to stay in the palace. Look at what you’ve done! A cannibal! A monster! Don’t you dare set foot on this holy land ever again!
ERIS(she/her) (EH-ris)
GODDESS OF CHAOS

A minor goddess of wisdom that became a threat to Eos, when she promised her followers a weapon that could give them divine powers. She was sentenced to death by the Council of Gods, however she never truly died, because part of her life force is hidden in the mythical staff she created. Hundreds of years of being imprisoned in the underworld have turned her to insanity and fully transformed her into the goddess of chaos.
(mischievous) We didn’t know we’d have visitors. Our dearest friend! What do you want from us?
(scatterbrained) You’re oh so busy. We both are. We, for example, have to keep counting the rocks inside our cell. (gets distracted) Where were we? 100 226 …or was it 7? No no no that’s all wrong. You interrupted us and now we forgot! We must start again. 1,2,3,...
(before she became a goddess of chaos, sad) I gave them knowledge, so they could research the world and improve it, but they wanted more. So I gave them alchemy and they praised me for it. But then they kept wanting more. So I tried giving them a part of me...
TIBERIUS (he/him) (tai - BEEUH - ree -uhs)
KING OF MERRIS, GOD OF LIGHTING

Tiberius is one of the most popular gods in Eos, not just among people of Meris, but also other empires. Everyone knows of his latest adventures and you are likely to find him in a local tavern in any part of the world. Some think he is just a carefree ruler with too much time and money on his hands, but in reality he is creating a web of alliances.
(charismatic banter) I was a bit disappointed that you didn’t write to me even once. Of course, I did get but a few letters from your advisor… I suppose that’s who wrote them, however not even one of them was written by you personally, was it? That’s not a way to treat an old friend.
(trying to hint that something is happening) It’s important to keep in touch with our allies, especially in times like these.
(cold) We’re in public. Can’t you see how people are looking at you? Stop before you make a fool out of yourself.
ZHONGWU (he/him) ("judge" + "law" + "sing" + “WOO”)

Yanfei’s younger brother is the leader of the Drarian army. Even though some people wish that he was the ruler instead of his sister, he loves the lack of boring tea parties and the amount of freedom he has as a general. Less administrative duties mean he can spend more time doing the things he loves: fighting, flying and meeting up with a certain other god.
(rambling, slightly nervous) *small laugh* The empress certainly knows how to make a spectacle. Last time she hosted the Council, the opening ceremony lasted for days. Half of the gods got too intoxicated to even participate at the meeting. Now that I think about it…. You must’ve been one of them.
(hurt) You’re here… with your wife? I am sorry I need a moment to process this.
(aggressive) I asked you to do one thing for me. One. But you can’t even do that.
SHAI (she/her) (shy)
ASTARTE’S SERVANT

It’s been less than a year since Shai joined Astarte’s garden, after running away from an abusive relationship. Even though she didn’t care about the goddess before, she immediately became infatuated with her once she met her in person. She would do anything to become her equal.
(confused) Why would she visit me? Because… I’m her favorite.
(sincere) Majesty, please tell me what’s bothering you. You know that you can trust me.
(jealous) I don’t understand what she sees in her. Just because she’s a god, doesn’t mean that she’s better than me.

HEPHET’S SERVANT

Aya was the first servant to join Astarte’s garden, after her husband asked her to pray to her to fix her infertility. She never wanted kids, nor a husband, so she decided to stay with Astarte. She is like an older sister to most of the servants and usually gives them crumbs of insider information they can gossip about.
(pretending like she didn’t do it) Well, it isn’t very lady like to listen in on-
(sincere) I-I don’t think you’ll want to hear about this.
(bittersweet) If only I could stay in this garden forever. A part of me wishes your powers were too weak to cure me. Because that way, I wouldn’t need to go home to him at all.
HECATE (she/her) (HEH-kuh-tee)
QUEEN OF MERRIS, GODDESS OF THE NIGHT

A descendant of Eris and the new queen of Merris, Hecate is constantly questioning about her place in the world. Should she really be siding with the gods who decided to murder her mother? Was her mother in the wrong for wanting to share godly powers with her followers? She doesn’t feel appreciated by her people or other gods, except for her friend Mei.
(sad) Ruling over the land of alchemists who think they can compare to us … sometimes I feel like I have no powers at all.
(stern) I know this was a marriage of convenience for both of us, but I did expect you to at least think about me, before going off and fooling around as soon as someone is willing to spread their legs. Do you even know what our people are saying behind my back?

DRAGON PRINCESS, PRINCESS OF DRARIUS, GODDESS OF SPRING

The youngest member of the Drarian royal family has always been sheltered by her siblings. Not being able to transform into her dragon form, her small horns and fake dragon wings she proudly wears, all make her appear weak. Despite her weaknesses, she tries her best to fulfill her duties as a goddess and is loved by her followers. It might be because of her powers or delicate looks or most likely because of her musical talent.
(excited) A moon festival? That sounds so wonderful! I would’ve loved to come! It must be so nice to see the people that pray to you all gathered together.
(nervous) This is my first time attending the council. I can’t wait to experience it, but I must admit that I am a bit nervous. What if I say something wrong and make a fool out of myself? I’d have to live with that for eternity.
(hopeful) You’ll come visit me again soon, right?
