Ghostbusters | Comic Dub

Project Overview

Ghostbusters comic dub will include the NOW, IDW, Manga, and etc. I'll probably doing a lot of stuff with Ghostbusters, so if you don't see a character listed and you know they're in the comic then click on the link listed in this description.

I will be dubbing The Real Ghostbusters, some of the IDW, Manga, and one-shots. There is a slight difference between The Real Ghostbusters and IDW Ghostbusters.

You can read the first issue of The Real Ghostbusters and IDW Ghostbusters crossover here.

Crackle does have The Real Ghostbusters, Ghostbusters, and Ghostbusters II.

1. Have good mic quality(no pop, static, noise in the background, etc).

2. Impressions are great, but try and make the character your own.

3. Read up on the character, watch a few clips, and try to embody that character.

4. Double check your audition. If there is no life in your voice and it sounds like you're just reading cardboard then don't submit it just yet.

Tips

1. Try saying the lines in your normal vocal tone.

2. Try and speak clearly when saying the lines.

3. Audition for other characters.

If you want to audition for a character which isn't listed then click here.

(be sure to scroll all the way down on that page to the Audition For section)

Dr. Ray Stantz was one of the original Ghostbusters and was one of the most devoted to the pursuit of studying the paranormal. The Ghostbuster that most commonly wore a tan uniform with slightly darker tan trim. He sometimes earlier on wore gloves and Ecto Goggles. He came back in Extreme Ghostbusters, but instead wore a blue uniform and pink trim (Egon's old uniform).

Personality

Ray is the heart of the Ghostbusters. He sometimes will act a bit like a kid (he watches cartoons, reads comic books, plays with action figures, and in the episode "Mr. Sandman, Dream Me a Dream" it is shown that he believes that the Easter Bunny exists).

Ray's devotion to the company was obvious when he mortgaged the house his parents had left to him to provide the capital to begin Ghostbusters Inc. Ray was also a handy man and largely responsible for the repair and modification of the Ecto-1. He wasn't particularly religious, but did seem to believe in a spiritual realm of sorts. In the video game it is shown he believes in the concept of a soul. He also states that he played a game entitled Ghosts and Gargoyles while in the seminary, indicating he may have at one time considered becoming a clergyman.

Ray is regarded by Peter as the "heart of the Ghostbusters." Indeed, Ray displays a level of ebullience when it comes to Ghostbusting and paranormal science in general unmatched by any of his colleagues (One example is were Peter was slimed by Slimer is where he exclaims "That's great! ACTUAL physical contact!"). His mention of an undersea, unexplained mass sponge migration shows he's more than eager to go anywhere it takes to study the strange and unusual.

Ray is generally the most positive of the group in outlook, however bits of cynicism will surface on occasion.("Yuppie Larvae")

Winston Zeddemore:  I have sold my soul to the devil.  I have sold my soul to the devil.  I have sold my soul to the devil.

Ray Stantz:  Actually, Winston, Dib is a minor demon, not the devil per se.

Winston Zeddemore:  I have sold my soul to a minor demon.  I have sold my soul to a minor demon.

  • Ray Stantz: This way, gentlemen.

    Peter Venkman: Thank you.

    Ray Stantz: Nicely done.

Egon Spengler: I'm not sure going underground now is a good idea.

Ray Stantz: Come on, Spengs. Getting there is the fun part.

Personality

Peter is the de facto leader of the Ghostbusters, but in actuality his role is more along the lines of spokesman for the group. Although, he usually is the one who chooses whether the team will take a case or not. He has the same personality as his movie counterpart, almost identical. A good-natured, low-key slacker with a hint of con artist and womanizer thrown in.

Peter is a lot smarter than he lets on, and has almost as keen a grasp on paranormal science as Egon and Ray. He admits he generally adopts the guise of an easygoing slacker because it makes it harder for opponents to second guess him. He has on occasion come up with some particularly shrewd plans.

Peter does revel in the money and glory the job sometimes brings him. In fighting the Sandman it is revealed that Peter dreams of being rich and famous, with fancy cars and winning awards and accolades. It would appear that Peter needs such accolades as a means for self-validation, as it doesn't seem like he got much validation out of his family growing up. But the well-being of his teammates and the safety of innocents still comes first.

Peter is shown to be a con artist, like his father and a bit of a womanizer. He's usually the one who tries to hit on any attractive women in their adventures. Peter honed his gift for gab working his way through college as a carnival barker on Coney Island. Unlike his father, Peter does adhere to a notably higher level of personal ethics. While Peter will always try to get the best angle for himself and his team, he never uses his gift for gab to swindle or cheat others.

Ray Stantz:  I want a glass of water.

Peter Venkman:  [gives him glass]  Here.  Now get to sleep.

Ray Stantz:  [drinks; Peter nearly closes the door]  Oh, Peter.

    Peter Venkman:  What?

Ray Stantz:  Tell me a story.[Peter growls]

Winston Zeddemore:  He's just getting into the role.

Peter Venkman:  He's gonna be in a body cast if he keeps this up.  [opens door; to Ray]  Once upon a time, there were four Ghostbusters who had a job to do but they couldn't do it because one of 'em couldn't go to sleep!  The end!  [slams door]

  • (Ghostbusters regroup on the main floor near the foot lockers.)

Peter Venkman: Hey, how come this mump gets all the new stuff?

Egon Spengler: He's out new "Experimental Equipment Technician".

Peter Venkman: He gets a cool title, too?

Ray Stantz: It means he gets to carry around a bunch of untested, extremely dangerous hardware that if not handled correctly could blow him somewhere into New Jersey.

Peter Venkman: Oh, this knucklehead lugs around our very  hardware that could potentially blow us into New Jersey? Thanks! Keep the title, kid. It'll work hard for you.

Further Character Information

Movie Version | IDW Version | Cartoon Version

Dr. Egon Spengler was one of the original Ghostbusters and was known as the brains of the outfit. He appears in all three animated series which are The Real Ghostbusters, Slimer!, and Extreme Ghostbusters. The Ghostbuster that most commonly wore a blue uniform with pink trim. However, due to low color pallets he sometimes wore green or cyan uniform in the comics and promotion items.

Personality

Egon is the brains of the Ghostbusters. He is of the four Ghostbusters, the most withdrawn of them and focuses on his experiments. On occasion has created a bit of trouble. In most matters, he only engages in the science of it.

Egon is bookish and socially awkward. In his spare time, he collects spores, molds, and fungus. He doesn't articulate his emotions well and has described himself as "always serious." His childhood may have been normal in many regards, but one strange fact is that he didn't play with toys. Egon said that his parents did not believe in toys. He was given part of a Slinky once, but he straightened it. And once, in Ghostbusters II, Egon flatly informed Mayor Lenny's porter that the Proton Pack was not a toy. Despite Janine Melnitz' subtle hints that she was attracted to him, he seemed to ignore her romantic advances, kept quiet, and their relationship remained platonic. Egon doesn't handle stressful situations well, as evidenced by his statement that he was "...terrified beyond the capacity for rational thought," when facing the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man. Egon is not without a sense of humor and has been known to be sly. Such as after the Ghostbuster's first case, when he holds up his fingers to show the amount of the bill to the Sedgewick Hotel, and during the court trial in 1989, when he chimes in from "Doe, Ray, Egon!" and then grins mischievously.

    Egon Spengler:  Transtator?

    Peter Venkman:  Check.

    Egon Spengler:  Field Generator?

    Peter Venkman:  Check.

    Egon Spengler:  Ionization Decaymeter?

    Peter Venkman:  Check.

Egon Spengler:  Plasmatic Refractor? Anti Ecto Plasm Destruct Mechanism? Bypolar Adjuster?

Peter Venkman:  Check, check and [yawns]  check.

    Egon Spengler:  Transwarp Drive?

    Peter Venkman:  Check.

Egon Spengler:  Ah-ha!  Caught you.  We don't have a Transwarp Drive.

Peter Venkman:  If we don't have one, then it can't malfunction.  If it's not malfunctioning, then nothing's wrong.  And if nothing's wrong, then it checks, right?

Egon Spengler:  I'm not going to talk to you again for at least a week.  It's not good for me.

Peter Venkman:  Hey, don't make fun.  This is how I got through college.

  • I'm getting some interesting PKE spikes here. Disturbances don't seem to be exclusive to the 12th floor.I'd like the chance to look around the building a little more.

Further Character Information

Movie Version | IDW Version | Cartoon Version

Winston Zeddemore was the fourth Ghostbuster hired due to heavy case loads. The Ghostbuster that most commonly wore a cyan uniform with red trim. However, due to low color pallets he sometimes wore green or blue uniform in the comics and promotion items.

Personality

Winston is still the straight man that continued from the movies but is more comical than his movie counterpart. He can explain Ray, Peter, and Egon's scientific explanations into common man's terms, also he can often come up with the common man's plan that is too simple for the others to realize, because of their scientific background. He is also a very good shot with the proton pack, so good he is the only Ghostbuster who used a scope in episode "Take Two" on a case.

Winston Zeddemore:  I have sold my soul to a minor demon.  I have sold my soul to a minor demon.

  • Ray Stantz: Anybody hear from Zeddemore?

(There is a rumble. Winston Zeddemore on radio. )

Winston Zeddemore: Uh, guys? I'm right outside. And so is something else.

Peter Venkman: Gosh we've missed you, partner. Glad you could make it. But first, how was Aida? Mhmm. Well, we had to make do with, uh, this new specimen here.

Winston Zeddemore: I've been trying to get here for over four hours, Peter! Traffic is a little blocked right now!

    (Ray hears a sound.)

Ray Stantz: Wait...I know that thud...

(Egon grabs the radio from Peter.)

Egon Spengler: Winston, what do you see out there?

Winston Zeddemore: It's big, it's clean and soft and white. And you aren't gonna like it.
