Hello there and welcome to my second Genshin Impact Fandub Casting Call!
IMPORTANT NOTE - DO NOT PERFROM ANY IMPRESSIONS OF THE ENGLISH CAST!
Last time I didn't specify this and got a lot of auditions in the form impressions. I LOVE impressions, but this project allows us to experiment and try new things with the character's voice. So I would rather reference was not taken and you gave the characters your own spin! As such, unlike the past two times, I will also not be providing references, but will instead describe the characters' voice...unless I don't know them too well! My interpretation might also be different from the ENG VA, but it's all about preference.
Also, I've not really kept up with all the stories and vo in the game. I don't have time in my personal life to sit through hours of dialogue. And for new characters I get, I tend to stick with my old teams that I've had for a few years now. So most of the characters' voices I not familiar with...especially since my pulling luck has been very poor!
ALSO! Usually I just stick with playable characters for these videos, but the final character is a boss character from the Third Act. So if you haven't gotten to that part, spoiler warning!
What is Genshin Impact? - Article taken from Wikipedia
Genshin Impact is an action role-playing game developed and published by miHoYo. The game features an open-world environment and action-based battle system using elemental magic and character-switching, and uses gacha game monetization for players to obtain new characters, weapons, and other resources.
Though the game may already have English voices, this is merely a passion project made just for fun.
About this project
1. What is the project? - This project will be a 5 - 10 minute video showcasing several of the character's attacks from the game. Characters from the game will be open for auditions, and our voices will be used in the video instead of the original voice actors' voices.
2. How long will the project be? - Hopefully it will only last a month. I have all the footage gathered. So all I need is the roles cast and lines sent in! So I guess it'll depend on the speed of the cast!
3. Mic Quality - Though an expensive microphone is not required, it would be more ideal if you had as best as quality as you can manage. Please try not to record in an echoy space, or have too much background noise. Other things like pops are also preferred to be kept to a minimum.
4. Acting Ability - As this project WILL require shouting, it is imperative that you display your ability to shout in your audition. Line 3 for all characters is short specifically to demonstrate your ability to shout. Please note that you do not have to scream the place down, but as long as you can show that you can comfortably shout, that would be great! And obviously, no whispering! Lines 1 and 2 need not be shouted, they are just simple audition lines so I can get a feel of your voice!
5. Cast for multiple roles? - If I think you are the right fit for more than 1 role, then yes! Audition for as many characters as you like!
6. Communication - I have a Discord group set up so please have a Discord account so you can join, and an active email address for back up.
And finally, be sure to have fun!
Please note that more characters may be added over time. And some characters may be missed out. While I could easily find all the footage online, it is more fun to use one's own footage rather than someone else's.

Finally, I possibly might self cast for a role myself, but I will wait until I have cast all the roles, and I may not even need to self cast!
The casting will take place by April 1st. If the deadline needs to be extended after that, it will be extended for another week. And then we will see how we have gotten on with casting from there.

Some characters have only 2 auditions and I’d like a few more.
I’m not rejecting any auditions, but some characters haven’t quite got what I’m looking for.
So hopefully another week is all we need!

I've extended the deadline for an extra week and added Mika as an extra character to audition for.
I may add Baizhu and Kaveh soon too, or they maybe cast separately depending on when they are coming to the game. Though I would like both to be in this video, so we'll see what happens.

As Ather is the protagonist, please put your own spin on the character in terms of voice, but keep in the lines of being the strong and silent type with a medium range.

Personally I find Collei's ENG voice to be a little too high/shrill.
While I'd like her to still have a high pitched voice, I would rather it was closer to the medium range, but still sounding youthful and innocent.

Thankfully I hated his ENG voice the moment I heard it, so please do not sound a THING like it.
I'd like to hear a voice that can make me love this character.
Honestly, I don't like his personality - I'd rather he was a little more soft spoken, reserved but not in a rude sense. Also, as he has a female JPN voice, I am happy for anyone to try and voice him!
For those with masc voices, a high or medium pitched voice, with a soft spoken edge.
For those with fem voices, draw inspiration from Xingqui in terms of pitch. Or, a deep young boy's voice - like N from Death Note.

I actually quite like her ENG voice, I'd go for something similar.

I like Cyno's voice, just not the way the lines are read.
I'd like him to have a medium, to medium-deep voice, but with the lines read in a sharper tone, not softer and mysterious like the dub. Just my preference.

I'd like Nilou to have an elegant and soft spoken voice, but with a slightly older feel to it. I'd rather she didn't sound like a child as much...I don't know much about her, I haven't got her or played her quest.

I'd like her to have a deep, more casual sounding voice. With a tomboyish and warrior feel to it as well. Sound hardcore, but smooth.
Most mercs are looking to make their fortune and leave their mark. They take on the hardest jobs they can find, hoping to earn as much Mora and prestige as possible. Some are lucky enough to survive and become legends, while others disappear into the desert before anyone's learned their name.
What you see is what you get, and whether you take on the challenge is entirely up to you.

I'm not a Venti stan, I like her! I wish she was playable - I want her to be playable! She was the best character in the game, I stopped caring as much about the story after she stopped appearing. - I am serious about all those things!
