Rudo Surebrec is the main protagonist of Gachiakuta. He’s a member of the Cleaners in team Akuta.
He originally lived on the Sphere as a Sphereite among the Tribe folk but was thrown into the Pit after being falsely accused of the murder of his foster father Regto who was in actuality killed by the Angel, he’s later recruited by Enjin to join the Cleaners as a member of Team Akuta until he collects every single piece of the Watchman Series which will allow him to return to the Sphere.
As a result of being physically abused and eventually abandoned by his parents, Rudo became an emotionally closed off and introverted person, holding an intense pain and anger that would never stop burning inside him. Due to being the son of murderers, he's been isolated at a very early age, with the only people who do not see him as a bad person being Regto and Chiwa. Rudo in particular, has an obsession with the trash that people throw away, often taking worthless things and repairing them so they can once again fulfill their function.
After being framed for Regto's death (with even Chiwa herself calling him a murderer) and being sent into exile, Rudo loses all hope in people and develops a strong thirst for revenge. He makes an oath that he will return to Heaven, kill every single one of the Celestials, and make them regret calling him filthy before throwing him away into the Ground. Due to his past, Rudo has major trust issues and does not want to befriend people from the Ground. At first, he makes it clear that he is only willing to cooperate with them in order to achieve his goal of returning to Heaven. However, Rudo slowly begins to develop bonds with the people he's met in the Ground, such as the Cleaners.
According to Semiu, Rudo has something comparable to a curse inside of himself. This "curse", fueled by hatred, is constantly growing within him due to all the recent events. This is seen most clearly when, after being released from Amo's ability, he immediately begins to beat Amo up in retaliation. Rudo is immensely emotionally attached to those he sees as his friends, so when someone he cares about is in danger or injured, he feels guilty and powerless for not being able to protect them, for instance, when Jabber Wonger seemingly killed Griss, Rudo went into a depressive state until he realized Griss actually survived. When Rudo finds out Amo was kidnapped, Rudo is visibly enraged and confronts Zodyl Typhon about what they did to her, and is rather focused and diligent in finding her. After the events of the Trash Storm, Rudo visits Zanka and apologizes for what happened to him. These traits are the result of being neglected and abused during his childhood, therefore, while Rudo treasures the bond with the Cleaners and will do everything to protect those bonds, due to his trauma, he has habit of believing that he's the one to be blamed for the things that happened to his friends that he cannot control or is not responsible for.
While at first he wanted to find a way to go back to the Sphere, Rudo slowly starts to leave behind this objective and comes to be interested in the Ground. After he learns about his ancestor, Canis Surebrec, and that he was from that place and not from the Sphere, Rudo becomes curious and develops a new goal, which is to search and investigate about his ancestor and his conection to that place along with his true origins. And after his private conversation with Arkha Corvus, the leader of the Cleaners, Rudo takes as a personal mission to discover all the secrets and mysteries of the world, also, he fully embraces being a cleaner by calling himself "Rudo the cleaner", not feeling anymore as an outsider from the Sphere. This change in Rudo is seen during his first job as a cleaner alone. While taking care of a trash beast, he is adamant in facing the beast by himself, trying to protect others like Follo keeping them safe.
Rudo is also a bit inept at relating with others. He lacks social cues, which comes from being isolated from an early age. Rudo doesn't understand things like indirects or reading people's feelings, this can lead to misunderstandings with his peers, like when Rudo rejected the new uniform Follo made for him, while Follo took it like he disliked it, Rudo meant that he didn't want Follo to get out of his way because of him. He also has a hard time expressing himself with words, so, when he doesn't know what to responde without hurting others he tends to merely respond with short words or keeping himself in silence and responding with gazes. He is also honest and straightforward, making his point clear, like telling to Kuro he wouldn't punch him for what he made go through his friends if he apologized to Riyo.

Enjin is the deuteragonist of Gachiakuta. He’s a member of the Cleaners as the leader of team Akuta.
Enjin has a bright, fun personality most of the time. He is not incredibly high energy either, seeming to be quite chilled and laid back. Enjin refers to himself as “just your average janitor”, showing he’s pretty humble despite his incredible abilities.
Enjin's name was given to him by someone who he states he "owes a lot to". He goes on to describe how his name is derived from an ancient word meaning "fated one", and he seems to take pride in this title. As the fated one, he feels that it is his responsibility to act as a symbol that brings everyone together, and he further attributes this trait to his umbrella, which stands out from the crowd and serves as beacon to those who may be lost.

"“To consistently take care of the things you care about.” There are plenty of people who can’t even do that much. Those are good gloves. Never forget how much they mean to you."
"If you’re so eager for an education, then I’ll give you one."

Zanka Nijiku is a character in Gachiakuta. He’s a member of the Cleaners in team Akuta.
Zanka was born into the prestigious Nijiku Family and was expected to become a Hell Guard like his older sister and brother. To fulfill this expectation, he enrolled in the Central Hell Guard Training Academy in the Kamutari District as a trainee, where he quickly rose to the top of his class. However, his dominance was short-lived when another trainee, Hyo, joined and surpassed his abilities, Zanka realized that he couldn’t hope to compare to a genius like her. Disheartened, Zanka ran away and met Enjin, who inspired him to become a Cleaner and become strong enough to surpass geniuses.
On the exterior, Zanka often keeps a calm, neutral composure and even when upset keeps a seemingly still face. On the interior, he is chaotic and quick to lose control of his emotions. Whether it's anger or disgust; he will let out these emotions in quite exaggerated outbursts, which he sometimes reveals to the outside world. Even feeling happy or excited, he is quick to cover up said emotions and prevent himself from smiling. Compared to his more quirky teammates, Zanka is usually serious and no-nonsense on the job, but tends to gets caught up their flow and joining in their antics. Tomme Mima considers Zanka as one of the people that can "knock any sanity" into their more awkward, whimsical members. Zanka carries himself with a confident and polite demeanor, though he can be very blunt, sarcastic, and unabashed in stating his opinions.
Zanka has his own unique view of other people, categorizing them as either “average” or a “genius." As member of the noble Nijiku Family, Zanka has a lot of pride, but doesn't show-off or treat other people badly, despite being a bit arrogant in his thoughts. In the past, he used to think of himself as a genius, but getting outperformed by an actual genius, he acknowledged as average and humbled himself. While he does feels resentment towards “geniuses” and saw them as people not needing to work hard to be great, he doesn't behave negatively or it take out on them, as Zanka is cordial with Rudo and tried to hide his jealously towards Hyo.
He’s accepted himself average and strives to improve himself to surpass geniuses with hard work alone to demonstrate that average people can be just as great. As Enjin puts it, Zanka fights against his own weakness, which makes him mentally strong. Zanka also states he doesn't blame his shortcomings or failures in battle on others and dislikes receiving pity. Zanka shown to be very observant and a critical thinker, such when ponders over the increasing mysteries surrounding Rudo and other various strange happenings. Zanka's general maturity, intelligence and capability makes him well-respected around the Cleaners, as even his boss Arkha Corvus comes to him for insight on the Hell Guard.

Riyo Reaper (リヨウ・リーパー , Riyō Rīpā) is a character in Gachiakuta. She is a former hitman and currently a member of the Cleaners in team Akuta.
Riyo lives with a 'carefree' mindset, even when facing a seemingly unbeatable opponent remaining free-spirited and calm. Riyo can be considered somewhat childish and unprofessional. Riyo gets excited at the prospect of a challenge, stating a 'strong opponent gets her fired up'. Riyo is known to have bad manners, whether it's sneaking away to meet Rudo or even her personal fighting style with the ripper. Riyo shows a particular interest in hair, playing around with Rudo's and asking if it's dyed or giving Trash Beasts a haircut, acting as a hairdresser.
Despite her rather warm personality, Riyo has demonstrated darker aspects of herself, where during her fight with Noerde, after hearing that no one can hear them, Riyo showed to be rather ruthless, pulling off a gun and incapacitating Noerde, and would have no hesitation killing the Raider except that Enjin banned her from killing, showing a rather cold and pragmatic side to her. When Noerde came back later, Riyo happily remarked that she should've killed her after all, showing no qualms about murdering someone. These traits of Riyo come from the fact that before she became a Cleaner, she had been working as a hitman.
