LONG, IF YOU ARE ONLY INTERESTED IN THE FEEDBACK, A SECTION HAS BEEN MADE FOR EVERY SINGLE CHARACTER DOWN BELOW.
Hello everyone!
The auditions close in exactly 1 week! It is insane how many auditions we've managed to garner up until now! We might very well get to 1000 somehow haha. However the more I think about it the more time I'll spend judging each single one of them so I'm less excited about that😅.
As a team we have been steadily growing, DOUBLING our team number to a whopping 40! Development has ensued with minimal issues so expect updates very soon!
CASTING DATE
I cannot be 100% sure when the casting will be finalized, however rest assured it should be 1 week max of waiting, most probably each character a full day to gather the optimal contenders and a day or 2 for a final decision followed by the official announcement. There will also be a live casting over at the discord server so make sure to join! Backups will also be cast.
FEEDBACK
Unfortunately, ever since the opening of auditions I have just been swarmed and too busy to give feedback to every single person. I still try to give some from time to time on the discord server but it simply isn't regular. However this last week of auditions I am 100% more free than the last 3 weeks and will be able to give feedback to anyone that asks! Join the official server for those.
As for the people on CCC only, I have followed some auditions for each character and have identified regular mistakes/flaws in performances that I will detailing down below. So for anyone that'd like some feedback and re-audition before the deadline ends, this will be insightful!
OBOKA
The most consistent problem in her portrayal is on her 1st line. Alot of you tend to be overexpressive. And the correct term would be that you are doing a rising intonation at the end of her sentences. When saying: "I don't know", most uptalk, you end your sentences with a rising pitch, making them sound like questions at times, which is not the intended feeling she should give. I have seen good performances however alot have trouble with this, she should sound as monotone as possible on the 1st line! This trait is vital to draw a picture of her state of mind at the start of the game so you must be able to convey that tone with no ounce of emotion being given. It's like there's a fog in her mind, she needs to think about her every word and it takes time for her to talk. She equally holds no opinions or judgement or any type of social cues, this should help identify the vibe that she has overall.
Her next lines is where the emotion needs to be used and where range will be showcased, they are metrics designed to confirm the amount of range you have. On the 2nd line I don't see as many problems. Many understood she is pretty much having a breakdown and acted accordingly which reassures me, I've seen great stuff and a good showcase of emotions on those parts! The unique add-ons equally give more flair to the auditions which is welcomed.
3rd line I have nitpicks, but that is mostly because I get very pedantic, but nonetheless I believe a few haven't completely understood. The laugh is supposed to be the most genuine laugh she's ever had in a long time. It needs to be vast and heartfelt. And followed by her line, many just jump straight to it without taking into account acting plausibility. Which is basically when you don't appear genuine (very problematic in Caelum auds). After her laugh, the calm in her voice needs to be brought in a realistic way. You should either wait a few seconds so she realistically is sounding like she's calming down before continuing speaking or just bring the laugh as she says her last line. These are just ways to make it work, there are definitely more, but the essential here being that some don't appear realistic and/or genuine.
If you need any more help when it comes to Oboka I suggest hearing out some auditions, not everyone has had problems with these so I encourage you to check some auditions out to compare!
CAELUM
Caelum is a much more problematic case. I won't go line by line here as the tone and emotion are admittedly easy to understand and simple to put into place for each line, but the global problem is acting plausibiltiy. Not many succeed in showing genuinity behind his words (and admittedly, his lines are quite long, lol). When Caelum talks, he speaks in a way that should bring people in, his excitement and genuine passion behind his interests are what makes him so charismatic and easy to talk to. He wants people he talks to to feel the same which is why he tries to impose himself and influence others with his excitement. Many seem to go fast and don't take the time to properly BE the character and feel what he is feeling, that is the overall problem behind his auditions. Yet again there are outliers and most have done a decent job, however there is much welcome improvement to be made!
If you need any more help when it comes to Caelum I suggest hearing out some auditions, not everyone has had problems with these so I encourage you to check some auditions out to compare!
ELIAS
Elias' auditions don't have many issues. The overall improvement that can be made however is the amount of emotions to his lines. Most of the time people lack the intensity behind his vibe so the performance falls flat. Elias is a very impulsive, very loud, emotionally reactive and snappy individual. Even when he's being genuine, he will often come to be flustered by it. These are his overall traits. The general performances I have seen are really not bad and I see some contenders already, however improvement can still be made!
If you need any more help when it comes to Elias I suggest hearing out some auditions, not everyone has had problems with these so I encourage you to check some auditions out to compare!
MIKHAIL
Mikahil's auditions are either very too forced or too underperformed haha. Mikhail is somebody that tales pleasure in provoking individuals. He seeks reactions behind his taunts. He is truly taking pleasure when he bugs people. 3rd line performances are mostly good however. Yet again, same advice as with Caelum, take the time to feel the character. There is much improvement to be made!
If you need any more help when it comes to Mikhail I suggest hearing out some auditions, not everyone has had problems with these so I encourage you to check some auditions out to compare!
LIVIA
Livia is very shy at the beginning and then GRADUALLY gets excited as she goes on and on about topic of interests. Many auditioners have her immediately excited with no prior buildup to that comfortability in talking about her likings. She is somewhat timid and has a hard time talking to people, those traits need to come up more in your performances! Overall her auditions have been pretty decent. There is just that caveat that I'd love to see improved!
If you need any more help when it comes to Livia I suggest hearing out some auditions, not everyone has had problems with these so I encourage you to check some auditions out to compare!
