Full Course | A Horror Visual Novel
Project Overview
Full Course is a psychological horror visual novel about Mio, the “natural center” of a rising idol group, who has spent two years being told who she is. When a gentle stranger starts leaving her strawberry milk, the thing that’s been consuming her becomes literal. The player is Mio, and their choices lead to multiple endings.
The horror is quiet. The scariest lines are the sweetest ones, so this is for actors who enjoy subtle, restrained performances.
This is an unpaid project. You’ll receive full credit in-game and on the project page, plus a finished copy of the game. (Edit the last part if it doesn’t apply.)
Content notes: eating disorder themes, stalking, dissociation, misogynistic commentary, and figurative cannibalism. Nothing is graphic, but it’s emotionally heavy. You can withdraw from any role or line at any time.
To audition: read the lines for the role you want and send a clean, dry recording. If you’re unsure whether to go bigger, go smaller and sweeter.
Lead role. Mio is a soft-spoken idol who has been agreeable for so long she can’t find what she wants. Voice-acting range: 18-25 sounding. You’ll perform two registers.
“Approved Mio”: sweet, even, laughs and pauses placed perfectly. Pleasant and slightly hollow.
“Real Mio”: clumsy, quick, a little ugly, no polish. Rare and precious.
The best performances make us feel the gap between the two. Heavy on narration and interiority. The horror comes from politeness, not screaming. If you’re unsure whether to go bigger, go smaller and sweeter. Around [NUMBER] lines, with alternate takes for branching endings. Deliver as separate WAVs, dry and unprocessed. Dark themes (eating disorders, stalking, dissociation). Full content notes available on request. Full credit.
(Note: not required, but bonus if you can sing.)
- female young adult
“I like to wake up slowly. I usually have tea first, then something small, like toast.”
“Thank you, I’m so glad.”
“No. ...No. I’m not drinking it.”
Major supporting role. Mio’s girlfriend: warm, playful, a little rough. She mutters to her guitar and laughs with her whole face. The arc matters most. She starts real and vulnerable and ends with a “smoothed” smile, so we need to hear the shift. Range: 18-25 sounding. Around [NUMBER] lines. Deliver as separate WAVs, dry and unprocessed. Dark themes. Full credit.
(Note: Not required, but bonus if you can sing.)

“I’m not mad. I just wanted to see you.”
“Squeeze twice if you’re in there.”
“Okay. Okay, I’m coming.” (Read this one smoothed, perfectly pleasant.)
Supporting role. Dramatic, funny, and hungry for recognition. She jokes constantly and hides years of rejection underneath. Range: 18-25 sounding. Around [NUMBER] lines. Deliver as separate WAVs. Full credit.
(Note: Not required, but bonus if you can sing.)“

I thought of citing my sources in the shower.”
“Thank you, I’m still going to get fat.”
“Bass is less about the notes and more about the shape of the silence between them.”
Supporting role. Deadpan. She delivers everything, jokes and heartbreak alike, in the same flat “rehearsal has moved studios” voice. Kind in a sideways way, and the first person to notice something is wrong. The restraint is the performance. Range: 18-25 sounding. Around [NUMBER] lines. Deliver as separate WAVs. Full credit.

“Rehearsal has moved studios.”
“It was perfect and nobody was in it.”
“That’s not somewhere. That’s just later.”
Supporting role. Bright, earnest, endlessly polite. She bows to the staff. Her sweetness is real, which makes what happens to her worse, so please don’t play it as fake. Range: 16-20 sounding. Around [NUMBER] lines. Deliver as separate WAVs. Full credit.
(Note: Not required, but bonus if you can sing.)

“Is it the strawberry one? I meant to buy one after school, but they were sold out!”
“Thank you, thank you so much!”
“Oh. Hello.”
We need original music for a psychological horror visual novel about an idol group: bright idol-pop tracks (including the comeback single and a guitar solo), plus quiet, unsettling underscore that gets slightly “wrong” over time. Around [NUMBER] tracks. Please send 2-3 samples, including something pop and something ambient or dark. Unpaid, full credit and the right to share the tracks in your portfolio.

Most of the horror comes from small sounds: a flickering bulb, a push bar that sticks, a carton straw, a ring light buzz, and cues that arrive “a half second late.” Looking for someone who enjoys subtle, uncomfortable detail. Please send a sample or reel. Unpaid, full credit.

Five idol characters (plus a few adults) as expressive sprites, with a style matching our existing cast illustration (soft anime, pastel, detailed). Mio needs two expression sets, “approved” (perfect smile) and “real” (flat, tired, and honest), and her double, the Girl, should be a near-mirror. Around [NUMBER] sprites. Please send a portfolio with sprite or expression work. Unpaid, full credit.

Locations include a dressing room, conference room, stairwell, apartment, studio with a pink sofa, train, and alley. Key CGs include the stairwell, the livestream, and the view through the glass door. Mood: pastel and pretty on the surface, quietly wrong underneath. Please send a portfolio of environments. Unpaid, full credit.

The UI is part of the horror: fan comment overlays, “gray font” messages, and approved-profile cards that appear when Mio can’t answer. We need a clean, believable social media look that can get subtly creepier. Please send UI or game GUI samples. Unpaid, full credit.

YOU ARE A PROGRAMMER FOR THIS ROLE. Implement branching choices, flags for multiple endings, text overlays that can appear “before” the expected cue, and audio hooks. Experience with Ren’Py preferred. Please send a link to a previous project or code sample. Unpaid, full credit.
