As the name implies, this is the child version of the more mature adult seen in other parts of the story. She is carefree, friendly, and despite her age, she displays surprising maturity, going so far as to have an adult conversation with her adoptive mother, Raine. She is believed to be no older than age 5.
"Uncle Laguna! There's someone here to see yoo!" - Excited as she runs onto the scene, eager to tell Laguna he has a visitor.
"Raine? Aren't yoo gonna marry Uncle Laguna?" - (A bit more concerned here; confused even.) She can tell Laguna and Raine like each other and wonders what's going on between them.
"But I really like him! Raine, Elle, and Uncle Laguna should all be together!" - Ellone is almost pleading here. She has grown fond of Laguna and just wants them all to be a family.
Young Squall is the child counterpart of our leading man, Squall Leonhart. Much like his teenaged counterpart, he is quiet, sullen, and always seen alone. He has a close connection to Ellone and is noticeably affected when she leaves one day. It is this event that brought Squall to close himself up from the world and create the wall he has around himself during the events of the game. He is speculated to be about 5 years of age.
"...Sis... I'm...all alone. But, I'm doing my best... I'll be okay without you, Sis. I'll be able to take care of myself." -- Young Squall heartbroken that his older sister has abandoned him. He is alone, staring at the ground, wondering what he might have done wrong while resolving to grow strong in her absence.
Young Seifer is a lot like his teenaged counterpart and is seen mocking Zell even in their youth, which plays into their time as teenagers during the events of the game. He is officially Zell's self-proclaimed "archenemy" and enjoys making fun of him at every turn.
"Cry baby, Ze-ell! Go back to bed!" - Seifer antagonizing Zell after the latter threatens to tell on them.
"Haha! What a baby." -- A bit more snide on this one. Seifer sees Zell crying and is only more inspired to continue.
Unlike his teenaged counterpart, young Irvine does not display much of a romantic side. He is a lot more casual and innocent as a child, but still harbors feelings for Selphie.
"Sefie, whatcha' playin'?" -- (Excited; curious.) Irvine has just been invited to join a game with Selphie and her friends.
"Come on, Seifer. Leave him alone..." -- (Upset; a little nervous) Irvine is watching Seifer mock Zell, but stands a few feet back, refusing to get too involved.
As a child, Quistis was always the "older sister" of the group and is said to be "bossy", thus "difficult to deal with" as noted by others. Nevertheless, the other orphans look up to her and affectionately refer to her as "Quisty".
"Wait for us!" -- Quistis is running to catch up to Irvine, whom has run ahead of her and the others.
"Will you two stop it already?" -- (Annoyed, and a bit angry.) Seifer is mocking Zell, making him cry, and Quistis is trying to stop it.
