Unlike his teenaged counterpart, young Irvine does not display much of a romantic side. He is a lot more casual and innocent as a child, but still harbors feelings for Selphie. 


Also much unlike his older self, he does not don a cowboy hat or said attire, giving no indication as to the kind of person he grows up to be during the events of the game.

  • "Sefie, whatcha' playin'?" -- (Excited; curious.)  Irvine has just been invited to join a game with Selphie and her friends.

  • "Come on, Seifer. Leave him alone..." -- (Upset; a little nervous)  Irvine is watching Seifer mock Zell, but stands a few feet back, refusing to get too involved.
