Fire Emblem Heroes - Fates Retainers Casting
Project Overview
All of the Fates retainers in this casting call! Adding an extra week of casting as there's a lot of roles!
And here are our groundrules!
1. Good acting! - Now if you've played Fire Emblem Heroes you'll know that the skill quotes are very poorly done...it's embarrassing to listen to professional voice actors and actresses sounding so bored. So please, really go for these quotes and don't give us a half-a**ed attempt.
2. Accents! - As fun as it would be to give every series a different accent, I'd like all the characters to have nice North American accents. If you aren't American, fear not! As long as your accent is convincing enough I'll be happy.
3. No time wasting! - Ok, saying "Hey [insert name] here and I'm auditioning for the role of [insert character name] enjoy!" No, no, no! Let's get straight to the audition and not waste any time with boring intros!
4. Feedback! - If you'd like feedback can you please send me a PM.
5. Be nice! - This is to be a fun project. Don't be rude or disrespect one another, or get salty if you aren't cast.
And lastly, although all the characters have English voice actors, I''d like you to give an original take for the characters and not try and impersonate the English VA's. There's no point doing a fandub if we're just going to be impersonating the characters is there?
Also, with regards to casting - no limit to how many characters you can be cast as. Audition for as many characters as you like!
Do your best and stay positive :D

Felicia is super funny, so I want you to act all ditzy and funny and stuff like that. No seriousness, dullness or boring takes!
Felicia has a warm, caring personality, especially towards the Avatar. She is steadfastly loyal to them and readily follows them without a moment's hesitation, even fighting against her own tribesmen, her older sister Flora, and her father, Kilma. While typically sweet, she can get feisty if she feels like she is being talked down to, particularly in her supports with Subaki, Saizo and Takumi. Felicia is very clumsy and prone to making mistakes when performing her chores, much to her own embarrassment. Despite this, she strives to become a proper maid, like her sister Flora.
"Did you know that I'm from the Ice Tribe of my world? Now you do!"
"Happy to have this new power! I'll use it to do my best."
"For my master!"
"Didn't expect that, did you?"
"You're just a stain!"
"No mercy! Not from me!"
Jakob is a dutiful butler who serves the Avatar. On top of being great at housework and other chores, he is an excellent fighter. According to his supports with Azura however, this was not always the case. It was because of the Avatar's strong belief in him that he continued to remain in services. He is dutiful, kind, and courteous to the Avatar when speaking to them. He has an undying loyalty towards them to the point he ends up getting into a verbal spat for the Avatar's caretaking in his support chain with Camilla and even gets into a verbal battle with Frederick in the Before Awakening Xenologue on who serves their Lord/Lady better as a butler. Jakob's devotion is so strong that he, against his better judgement, aids Takumi in very dangerous archery practice just because refusing might disappoint the Avatar.
"This kingdom makes such exquisite teakettles. Prince Alfonse lent me one. I owe him thanks for such a kindness."
"Any butler worth his salt will master any and all abilities."
I could do no less!"
"Time to take out the trash!"
"You are excused!"
"I'll show you the door!"
In contrast to his brother Kaze, who is very calm, Saizo is brash and temperamental. He also becomes very frenetic when provoked, experiencing tremendous surges of passion that compel him to behave irrationally. This fact is made particularly evident in Chapter 17 on the Conquest route, where Saizo, guided by his feelings of seething hatred towards Kotaro, blindly throws himself into the heat of battle in a bid to exact vengeance on the man responsible for his father's demise.
"I appreciate that you do your patrols. But I don't respond well to being stared at. So don't."
"Now I'm more worthy of being fifth in a line of Saizos."
"You have breathed your last!"
"Die!"
"Saizo the Fifth, strikes!
"Time for mayhem."
.Kagero is predominantly defined by her fierce loyalty to Ryoma, where she will not hesitate to sacrifice herself in order to preserve his life. According to her supports with Kaze, this loyalty of hers sees her devoting the bulk of her time to training or fulfilling missions, leaving her with little time for leisure.
"I draw pictures of the local scenery in my diary. I'm afraid that they look a bit hellish. It's...just how I draw."
"I'll make greater gains with this power. I thank you."
"You have breathed your last."
"You are already dead."
"I'll finish this."
"Absolute annihilation."
Despite still being a flirt and very shy, he is more sensitive to other people's needs and emotions. Often times he uses flirting as a pretense to build stronger bonds between him and his comrades, rather than just shallowly chasing skirts. He is also considerably more mature and wiser, often giving advice to those in need. Most of his supports show a surprisingly sad and introspective side to him, likely due to homesickness. After becoming a father to Soleil, Inigo begins to understand why his parents protected him with their lives, much like how he wants to protect his own daughter. He is exceptionally loyal to Xander, demonstrated by his declaration that protecting Xander came first, and then Nohr after.
"You and I should run off on a little excursion at some point. I'd love to take in all the sights while I'm here."
"Ah! You've made me stronger. For that, I thank you.
"Don't make me laugh."
"Shall we dance?"
"Until next time!"
"Right where I want you!"
Peri has a peculiar personality, and, in the Japanese version, she often refers to herself in a third-person point of view (a trait associated with children, very immature people or someone who wants to look cutesy) ever since her mother died. She acts mostly like a spoiled child and has childish enthusiasm, especially in terms of causing bloodshed. She has sudden, if not sometimes random, impulses for killing people as a result of witnessing her mother's sudden murder when she was young, and often comes off as scary to other people due to her immense bloodlust toward basically anything that angers her, including her allies. This is shown in her supports with Felicia, where Peri attempts to kill her because of her clumsiness. While she enjoys killing, she enjoys a challenge and respects those that fight well, where she asks Felicia to come over to her mansion to train her servants, stating that "there's no fun if they fall apart after one hit."
"The commander is pretty. How does she get her hair so red? Maybe with the blood of her enemies!"
You made me stronger, so I'll get stabby with anyone you want!"
"Bye-bye, intestines!"
"Killing is now!"
"Right where I want you!"
"Time to play!"
Despite holding the position of a priest who is expected to represent the values of benevolence and compassion, Azama defies such expectations, as he adopts a demeanour of breezy apathy in his regard of others, heavily employing sardonic wit and dark humour in his speech. Indiscriminate in the disagreeable manner by which he treats people, Azama is known to delight in making biting remarks that induce pronounced discomfort, and even his liege and social superior Hinoka is not spared; through his supports with her, he reveals, albeit rather disturbingly, that her positively charming look of fury and frustration during their first meeting as she fought to preserve her life was what compelled him to rescue her.
"I assure you, I am a devoted monk. But, devotion takes many forms."
“Oh my! It’s like a brisk wind, ruffling my robes!”
"What to do with you?" (healing)
"Do be careful!" (healing)
"I won't lose!"
"Here comes your final reward!"
"Death comes for everyone."
"Rest in peace."
Setsuna is a character who exudes an aura of calm and quiet, although this, contrary to being due to her being well-trained and disciplined, stems instead from her chronic absentmindedness and laziness. Her absentmindedness has, on multiple occasions, seen her blissfully walking into traps without once realising the danger that is presented to herself, the result of her daydreaming and losing focus of the path ahead of her. Even after being ensnared by traps, Setsuna is known to treat her predicament with bemused apathy, believing that Hinoka will always somehow manage to locate and rescue her from her plight.
"We should go hunting. We'll step into a trap, I bet. But you can just summon Lady Hinoka to save us."
"One step closer to...uh, not stepping into more traps."
"I won't lose!"
"There we go."
"Hey, you're my prey!"
"Look! A butterfly!"
Severa's spirit of competitiveness has intensified, it is balanced by the strong work ethic that she has adopted where, instead of being quarrelsome, she instead chooses to display her strength and affirm her talents through challenging other members of the army to friendly duels.
Despite the changes in personality that Severa has undergone in the Selena persona, the inferiority complex that Severa harbors towards her mother has not been completely vanquished. If she happens to mother Caeldori, the spitting image of Cordelia who is similarly a paragon of perfection, she can unconsciously vent her jealousy-induced frustration on her daughter when the latter displays qualities that bear a resemblance to those possessed by Cordelia. She does, through the supports that she shares with Caeldori, eventually reconcile this inferiority complex, as she apologizes for her actions and strives to be a better parent to her daughter.
"Look at you, patrolling! I like it. You're taking a page right outta MY book!"
"Thanks for looking out for me."
"Time to play!"
"Loser!"
"Let's get this over with!"
"I've had enough!"
Beruka, raised as an assassin committed to executing her cold-blooded duties with no emotion, generally comes off as very cold, stoic, unfeeling and distant. As a result of her upbringing, she is thus chronically incapable of expressing her emotions and understanding the intentions of others, a fact that is expounded upon throughout the support conversations that she shares with various characters. Beruka's supports with the Avatar, for one, see her coldly responding to their attempts to befriend her with suspicion and distrust. Her S support with Leo also advances this fact, where she, in response to his marriage proposal, expresses confusion over the warm feelings of love that she finds herself harbouring for him.
"Order of Heroes—hmm, I bet that's just a fancy label for a group of assassins."
"I keep my weapons in top shape. So don't sneak up on me while I'm sharpening them, all right?"
"Time to play!"
"I will exterminate you!"
"Finishing the mission!"
"This is over!"
Cheerful and easy-going, Hinata is a passionate youth who takes pride in his skill with the blade. This can be observed through his supports with the Avatar, where he takes offence at their suggestion that he has a reputation for relaxing more than he does training, thereafter seeking to prove the rumour wrong. Through this same set of supports, Hinata is also proven to be a person who prefers proving his worth through action and not words. This fact can be gleaned from him challenging the Avatar to a sparring match to prove his mettle in combat.
"Say, you free? Then why not train with me, Summoner! Need to keep my arm in swingin' shape!"
"This is gonna be an exciting change!"
"Oh that's it!"
"Let's get wild!"
"Hey, watch up!"
"I've got your back!"
Oboro harbors a chronic hatred of Nohr, a fact that stems from the murder of her parents by the hands of Nohrian assassins. This resulted in an involuntary tic that causes her to twist her face into a demonic visage whenever anything related to Nohr is mentioned or shown in her presence. Despite her hatred for Nohrians, Oboro is capable of controlling herself from killing them depending on circumstance; through her C support with Silas, she declines his offer to train with him, attributing her refusal to her not wanting to kill him by accident. Even when she finds out that her parents' murderer was already dead at the hands of Beruka's mentor years ago, she is still capable of reason rather than blind rage, knowing that the chain of hate always ends in tragedy. That said, Oboro is not without the sense to understand that not all Nohrians are evil, and can clearly tell the difference enough to make civilized conversation and establish friendships and romances with a number of them.
"I'm curious what the fashions are like in this realm. Let's go find a tailor shop or clothing store sometime!"
"I'm Lord Takumi's retainer. He's so strong, beautiful, noble... I couldn't be happier to serve him."
"Oh that's it!"
"You're gonna need stitches!"
"I'll tear a hole in you!"
"Comin' through!"
Sadistic, cold and callous, Niles derives pleasure from watching the suffering of others, a fact made plainly evident throughout his supports, where he visibly becomes excited when bearing witness to the pain and discomfort of his conversational partners. These traits of Niles in turn lends to his being an easily agitated individual; through his supports with Arthur, he is observed to, in response to being asked why a wanted criminal like him is permitted to serve a member of royalty, threaten to kill Arthur.
"How about a midnight stroll at some point? I won't bite. I never do. At least, not by the light of the moon."
"That prince you serve is a pretty bit of porcelain. But I think he'd look nicer with a few chips."
"You can't hide from me!"
"Take this, friend!"
"Here's a taste!"
"I hope you enjoy this!"
Described as a "colourful" character by Lucina, Owain has a habit of speaking in an overly theatrical fashion that most find tiresome and some find endearing. Always eager to engage others in duels, Owain attributes this to his sword hand craving battle, even though this is, in actuality, due to his desire to prove his mettle and improve his combat skills. Moreover, when facing people with actual bloodlust, such as Navarre, Owain quickly drops the act and desperately tries to diffuse the situation upon realizing that he went too far with it.
"You have my infinite gratitude for watching over me!"
"Where is my excellent Lord Leo? I ought to be by his side!"
"Eldritch Smackdown!"
"Overdoing it--as usual!"
"Power... Overflowing!"
"You can't hide from me!"
Subaki is a self-professed perfectionist, a fact that primarily stems from the legacy of his family's traditions, ones that have conditioned him to strive towards achieving perfection in all that he does. As a result of this, Subaki is known to be very demanding and even unforgiving towards himself as he works tirelessly to meet the harsh expectations that he sets for himself. This has in turn caused him to have the tendency to engage in self-reproach whenever he commits "offences" that he feels make him appear weak and imperfect in the eyes of others. During such occurrences, Subaki is known to lapse into a state of flustered distress as he attempts to rectify his shortcomings.
"Your patrols in this large place must be very exacting. I'd be glad to do my part anytime you need rest."
"If I have any flaws, it's that I fuss too much over my appearance."
"It's all me!"
"Watch and learn!"
"Expect perfection!"
"You will fail, not I!"
Depicted as the stereotypical tomboy, Hana has a terrible sense of self-restraint. This is evidenced through her first appearance on the Hoshido route, where she is observed to argue heatedly with Subaki over who "Sakura's best subordinate" is. Hana cares a great deal about Sakura, even holding some resentment for the Avatar because their kidnapping caused a great deal of sadness to Sakura. However, she later apologizes to them because it was not by their choice that they were kidnapped. Though a tomboy, Hana still loves cute and girly things, which can be seen in her supports with Hayato. When he receives a bunch of childish and girly gifts from his caretakers in the Wind Tribe, Hana gladly offers to take them off his hands.
"I'll protect you on the battlefield since you don't have a weapon. It'd be nice to spar though!"
"I try to slip in some katana practice whenever I can!"
"It's all me!"
"With all my strength!"
"You're mine!"
"Now it's my turn!"
As the self-professed "Hero of Justice", Arthur is known to have made it his life's mission to lend his assistance to one and all who may require it, no matter how trivial or absurd their grievances may be. To this end, he constantly keeps his eyes peeled for people who appear to be in need of help in order to ensure that he is the first person to provide them with the aid they need. This fact is especially explicated through his supports with Elise, where he proclaims his desire to spread happiness to one and all by means of providing aid to everyone who needs it.
"Haha! Prepare to be dazzled and awestruck by unrivaled strength!"
"My liege is Lady Elise, finest rose of Nohr! No evildoer will harm a single petal of her floral excellence!"
"No more holding back!"
"Justice strikes!"
"To victory!"
"Luck is against you!"
Contrary to her dainty, petite appearance, Effie wields tremendous physical strength that easily allows her to perform astounding feats that regular people are unable to accomplish, including bench-pressing tree trunks and crushing whole fruits with her bare hands, her support with The Avatar and Niles proves this fact. Taking pride in the physical strength that she possesses, Effie maintains her physique through rigorous training regimes that she forces herself to undergo. To this end, Effie is known to cultivate the habit of ignoring all external forms of distractions whenever she is in the midst of her training, to the point of blatantly disregarding the attempts of others to engage her in conversation. Her C support with Odin proves this fact, where the intense focus that she directs to her squat training causes her to be completely unaware of his attempts to capture her attention. This same support also reveals Effie to be eager for self-improvement, constantly seeking out new methods to enhance her physique. Odin's mention of a new training technique to instantaneously double one's strength proves this, as this piques her interest sufficiently to direct her attention from her squat training to him.
"We've got to defeat all of the Heroes that we can if it frees them from being forced to serve."
"I feel like I could take on anyone!"
"No more holding back!"
"Time to say goodbye!"
"Comin' through!"
"I'll crush you to dust!"
