Project Overview

A Fandub of the fully English dubbed Nintendo 3DS Game - Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia


NOTE - SEVERAL CHARACTERS HAVE ALREADY BEEN CAST! BOTH IN ADVANCE FOR THE FIRST EPISODE AND FOR THE FIRE EMBLEM HEROES PROJECT I AM ALSO WORKING ON.
THEREFORE, NOT ALL THE CHARACTERS IN THE GAME WILL BE UP FOR AUDITIONING. 
IF YOU SEE A CHARACTER MISSED OUT, THEN CHANCES ARE THIS CHARACTER HAS ALREADY BEEN CAST. LIST OF CAST CHARACTERS AT THE BOTTOM OF THE DESCRIPTION.

Just going to use the suggested questions cause that's what they're there for;


How long is the intended final product?

-As in how long it will take, can't say. We're taking our time with this, giving VA's enough time to get their lines in. We're not rushing. 

-As in episode length and duration, it will most likely depend on story and plot. There will be a separate 'episode' for each support conversation...yep, first Fire Emblem project that I'm fandubbing supports. 



Is it multiple episodes/chapters/books/etc.?


-Yep! An episode per 'chapter'. Some episodes are less than 10 minutes, some last will last closer to 30 minutes.



What is the time frame for when the project will be completed?


-Can't say for now.  Hopefully we'll be done by spring next year at the latest. I'd like to push this project on so we may be done faster that others I'm making.



How fast do you require actors turnaround time to be?


-Between 2 to 3 weeks depending on script lengths. Extensions are available if VA's ask for them.  If scripts are short maybe even 1 week. VA's should try not to leave scripts to the last minute so that if retakes have to be done they have time to do them before the deadline.

-If VA's are late, they will receive an email the day following the deadline. If they do not respond after 3 days a PM to the casting site. If a week passes and I haven't heard from them their character will be up for a recasting. So try not to let it come to that!

    Well that's the deadline up, and although not every character got an audition - I'm going to begin casting now. There are a LOT of auditions to go through, so this might take more than a day. But I'll try and come to my final decision as quickly as I can. But I naturally want to make the best choices, so please bear with me. Thanks to all who auditioned, and best of luck!

While he can come off as strict in his professionalism, Lukas is sweet-natured and polite to everyone he meets, and although subtle, has a dry sense of humour. He has a very well-maintained calm, reliable, and professional front, however, in the rare events that he loses his temper, Lukas's feelings slip past his said front, such an example being when a duke called him a backwater buffoon, causing him to lose his temper and beat him in a duel.



He often fears coming across as cold and detached in his composure, the fears of which hold heavy weight on his thoughts, as he bears guilt about his inability to genuinely put his heart into his own performance as a soldier, and it feels strange and weird to him as a consequence. This ends up being his biggest strength, as he is able to stay calm at the direst situations, even when learning disastrous news.



While Lukas has the behaviour of a noble, he isn't incapable of recurring to underhanded tactics, such as taking Rigelian civilians as hostages and threatening to execute them if safe passage is not granted for the Deliverance, causing even someone like Slayde to be surprised at the use of such a method.

  • No matter how quiet a village you hail from, in the hands of a capable teacher, one can become every bit as strong as a royal knight. I find that thought quite inspiring.

Clive is a very mellow, kind, and calm individual, however, when the situation mandates for him to be serious and imposing, he is gravely so. He sees his fiancée, Mathilda, as his idol and inspiration and does not believe that he is worthy of her.



His humility defined him as a leader, as being able to understand the big picture and recognize his own weaknesses allowed him to step down as leader of the Deliverance, and appreciate the potential of the common people, like Alm.



However, while he does not judge his soldiers on their nobility or blood, he stands by Zofia's feudal system and believes that there is a difference between nobles and commoners. This causes some members of the army to call him out over it on the course of the story, and even though Clive becomes progressively more open-minded and aware of the mentality of Zofian nobility, he still stand by parts of it, although admitting he really can't relate to the commonfolk and that his views sometimes clash and juxtapose each other.

 Mycen is Alm and Celica's adoptive grandfather and a reputable former soldier. Originally a Rigelian early in life, he later became a high ranking Zofian general when he later moved into the southern country.

An adept mage who is well aware of her talent, Mae is constantly in pursuit of self-improvement and is a prime example of a "type A" personality. Said traits causes an intense rivalry with Boey, whom she frequently tries to outdo at everything while teasing about his insecurities. Yet, Mae values Boey's presence and cares about him despite all of their clashing.



Often seeking approval from others, Mae desires to be viewed as a highly dependable person. She is often very enthusiastic, generally speaking in an exuberant, confident, and even arrogant manner. Such demeanor manages to be contagious, as Celica states that Mae has always cheered her up when she was sad or lonely. Despite her constant cheerfulness and bombastic mannerisms, Mae is subtly self-conscious of her level of maturity, appearance and deportment wise, especially when compared to her retainer partner, Boey. She longs for a carefree lifestyle after the war and has a fondness of the ocean.



She and Celica are extremely close to the extent that she is profusely attached to her. As a result of this, she is very concerned for Celica's emotional well-being and survival to the point of verbally rebuking enemies that threaten her safety, even if it places her life in harm's way. In addition, Mae's final battle quote reveals she doesn't care about Duma or the world ending, she simply wants Jedah to pay for hurting Celica.

A sweet-tempered sister of Mila, Silque became a cleric because of her mother's influence, who was also a cleric. It is later revealed that her mother was in the service of Duma and suddenly crossed the Zofian border; leaving Silque in a Zofian monastery and disappearing. Though not knowing her reasons, Silque began to dedicate her life to save people from suffering; believing this is her purpose in life.



She was then kidnapped by Thieves, who forced her into their shrine, later being rescued by Alm's group and becoming their healer. In Echoes, she entrusts Alm with Mila's Turnwheel.

Fully devoted to mastering the family's traditional art of sorcery, he takes his training very seriously to the point of his younger sister's lack of interest in magic greatly frustrating Luthier as no matter how hard he trains, he will never reach the heights Delthea is capable of reaching.



Such dedication causes Luthier to show narrow interest to the people of society, with Delthea often berating him for being so reclusive to the point which he admits that his only friend in his village was a cat. However, Luthier does manage to befriend Alm, his first real friend.



As a result, he's inept on how to interact with others or read social cues. For example, he outright asks Alm if they are friends, and his little sister makes fun of him singleminded conversation of magic to others.



He has a strained relationship with Delthea, finding it impossible to deal with his younger sister’s selfish streaks, but deep down truly cares for her and is only strict with her because he wants her to be loved.

Despite being naturally gifted with magic, Delthea is not interested in training her abilities, using it in Alm's group because she likes helping him, only to seal it after the war. She is bright and cheerful, though a bit of a selfish little girl. Constantly making fun of Luthier, her supports make it clear that she does love him and would like to be friends deep down, quick to defend him when Clair does the same.

Sonya has a cool and unyielding personality and oozes womanly charm. She is apparently burdened with an awful past, but hates to talk about it. She has a deep hatred of her father Jedah, and in turn anyone like him, for both abandoning her as a child and setting up her older sisters to be sacrificed to Duma. This is seen if the player has her fight against Jedah in Chapter 4, where she refuses to acknowledge him as her father.



In Echoes, Sonya can develop a friendship with Genny where they bond over being left at a priory as children by their parents, and Sonya reminding Genny of her mother.

If Sonya is defeated by Celica, Deen will retreat into Grieth's Citadel. After Grieth's death, he will join Celica's army, noting that he knew that Grieth would have gotten what he deserved eventually

Leon has romantic feelings for Valbar, but Valbar appears to be oblivious in their supports. It is mentioned their relationship never faltered, even when Leon retired from training soldiers.

Leon has a pretty boy personality and sharp tongue, but he is an honest man that tells no lies. Leon has a nihilistic side, claiming he has desired to die in battle during his death quote in Gaiden.



In both versions of the game, Leon has a very close relationship to Valbar, describing him as his sworn brother and saying he will go wherever Valbar goes. In the remake, it is made clear Leon's attachment to Valbar is romantic, with Leon saying that women do not interest him and Valbar is all he needs, even if Valbar never notices Leon's love for him.



He also mistakenly thinks that Kamui is hitting on him in their support conversations, declining him while, at the same time, talking about Valbar being his ideal man. In his third base conversation with Celica, even she recognizes that his feelings for Valbar are romantic.

While uncomfortable around most strangers, Rinea still tries to put up a pleasant and polite front. She seems to feel a lot of pressure to be an "acceptable" fiancee to Berkut, even though she dislikes public life. She often frets a lot about her choice of words and being what is considered appropriate in her deportment.



Being the daughter of a minor Rigelian noble family that's not well-off, financially or in social standing, her discomfort with court life is exacerbated. She does, however, love to dance, and also enjoys nature and being outdoors. While typically fairly soft-spoken, if Rinea has an opportunity to talk about something she likes, she'll become much more animated and verbose, a trait she's rather ashamed of. The whole ordeal of war is as uncomfortable and alien to her as court life, but she sticks it out to stay by Berkut's side. He's the only person she opens up to, and conversely, Rinea is the only person Berkut opens up to.

Fernand is highlighted by his strong vengeful thoughts towards the commoners of Zofia. This was a result of an insurrection attack by the commoners on his family's estate that resulted in their deaths.This hatred was so strong that he was willing to abandon the Deliverance simply because Clive let Alm become leader whom he thought was a peasant at the time. He is also quite judgemental and withholding, as shown when he berates Alm and Lukas simply because of their social status. However, on his death throes, he realizes that these feelings blinded him from the truth and repents for his mistakes.



Prior to the tragedy, Fernand was a very blunt man, easily and freely speaking his mind about anything that went against his morals, such as Slayde's conduct at Zofia Harbor. Like Clive, he held a strong sense of duty for the Kingdom of Zofia. He was steadfastly loyal to Clive as his equal and was more than willing to aid him at any time for whatever Clive's endeavors may be, a sentiment that Clive reciprocated.

Jedah is a fanatic who wholeheartedly believes in causing war. Wanting war with Zofia and Mila, Jedah had Halcyon banished with apparently no remorse. Jedah possesses a manipulative streak offering to spare Alm if Celica offered herself as a sacrifice to Duma, even admiting to Celica that he lied about his promise. He also believes that Duma valued causing human suffering and it was something his worshipers should strive for, intending to kill Celica slowly. It is even revealed Jedah had sacrificed his daughters to Duma. He believes Valentia cannot survive without Duma, so he stubbornly refused to believe form Alm and Celica that the nation can survive without the assistance of gods.



Jedah's only known redeeming quality is his fanatically devout worship of Duma, his loyalty appearing to be genuine with his zealous desire to pleasing Duma at any cost being the only motive for his cruel actions. Even as he died, he was more concerned with Duma's life than his own.

Known as the Great Sage of Duma, he lived at the edge of the village. During the game, he reveals that Mila is actually sealed within the Falchion, which is located beneath Duma Tower. Celica asks Halcyon if he can possibly help Alm. Halcyon unlocks Alm's potential, allowing him to promote to the Hero class whenever he wished from that point onward.

Celica starts tearing up while Irma attempts to comfort her, then laments about the circlet belonging to Liprica being missing.

Mila is the patron deity of Zofia known as the Earth Mother, and her blessing helps crops grow on the earth. Early in Valentia's history. Thousands of years earlier Duma and Naga began a dispute resulting in Duma being exiled from Archanea with Mila, caring deeply for her brother, deciding to follow him to Valentia. Initially leading humanity on the continent together, Mila and Duma came into violent dispute over their beliefs, as Mila believed that humanity should be lead towards peace and pleasure, while Duma believed that they should strive for power alone. Eventually, a pact was made that divided the continent between then, with Duma ruling over the north and Mila the south. As time went on, Mila's continued influence lead to the people of Zofia to become lazy, hedonistic, and dependent on her, while Duma's policies similarly corrupted the north.

Duma is the patron deity of Rigel who is worshiped as the War Father by some of the characters because of his descent into madness. Thousands of years ago, Duma was exiled from Archanea to Valentia by Naga after a dispute he had with her, with Mila following him into exile as well. Duma was also given Falchion by Naga to be used to end his and Mila's life in the event the two Divine Dragons fall to madness. In Valentia's early days, he came into violent dispute with his sister Mila over their beliefs: Duma believing mankind should strive for power and Mila believing that mankind should be led towards peace and pleasure. Eventually, the two came to a pact that divided the continent between them, the north to Duma and the south to Mila, although their heavy involvement led to the people of Rigel becoming too cruel and the people of Zofia becoming hedonistic.

Although he hates trouble and danger, he usually ends up in the middle of it anyway.

Jerome's treasonous actions make him hated among even the people of Rigel. Fellow Rigelian general Zeke protected the villages from him, but was forced to fight alongside him after Zeke's girlfriend Tatiana was kidnapped by Nuibaba. After Alm rescues Tatiana, Zeke and his men turn on Jerome, who is killed in the resulting battle.
