FFXIV: The Oracle of Light (Shadowbringers)
Project Overview
Well since the previous project went well, I decided to make another! This time a fandub project of Shadowbringers' The Oracle of Light -scene.
Rules are as follows;
You MUST have a clear microphone; No pops, puffs or anything of the sort. Use pop filter to eliminate all possible background noises and hums.
You MUST deliver the lines before actual project deadline.
No half-assed auditions cuz those get declined automatically. Remember, adding rightful emotion is a MUST.
That's it really.

Not much is to say about this role other than he's mainly one of the many Eulmoran Soldiers in this scene.
[pointing the sword against captive girl's back] "Keep moving!"
[while still having drawn the sword pointing at the girl's back and following the flying Amaro's] "Eh? What now?"
[looking around the fainting fellow Eulmoran Soldiers before falling to sleep himself too] "Oh, you've got to be-- Sound the alarum!"
Not much is to say about this role other than he's mainly one of the many Eulmoran Soldiers in this scene.
"The Crystarium at a guess."
[Looks at the first soldier] "Desperate fools. It'll take more than a handful of overgrown lizards to ground us!"
She's the one that is scouting the events happening in this scene.
[reporting the sightings to Lyna who just arrived] "Captain, the powder has taken effect!"
Captain of the defensive guard at the Crystarium, Lyna is a battle hardened soldier that cares about the people in the city.
[to Warrior of Darkness] "It is time. Let us free Oracle from their clutches!"
Ran'jit is a bitter, humorless and hardened man who has resigned himself to the perceived inevitable oblivion the First is facing. He believes that man's destiny is doomed, and that only through Vauthry can they be granted a measure of peace and salvation. This makes him one of the very few to serve Vauthry willingly.
Despite his stoic nature, Ran'jit is a skilled fighter and tactician, respected for his experience and prowess in battle. He is disciplined and perceptive, his instincts being rarely wrong. He is especially fearless and deadly in single combat, willing to fight to the last if it means it would defeat the Warrior of Darkness.
Beneath his hardened exterior lie grief and pain over the Oracle of Light. Seeing so many young girls under his charge pass as incarnations of Minfilia Warde drove Ran'jit into despair and he became overprotective of the girls, unable to bear losing them. He begrudges Thancred Waters, believing him unworthy of the Oracle, but most of all for freeing the current Oracle of Light and giving her hope and resolve of a better tomorrow.
Also make him sound as evil as possible! XD
[to Alphinaud] "You, boy. You bear a striking resemblance to the artist my master seeks. By all means, keep your counsel. You will all have ample time to confess your crimes back in Eulmore."
[still to Thancred] "Pathetic. Vermin such as you are not worthy of the Oracle."
[when conforting Crystal Exarch] "Fool! You would see your city razed?"
Much like the Minfilia from the Source, Ryne is kind and caring, wishing to help those in need and those she can still save. As she is still young and constantly overseen, Ryne is shy and reserved, often relying on others for comfort and support. This leads to feelings of self-doubt and worrying about her worth. After seeing the resolve and determination of the Warrior of Darkness and the Scions of the Seventh Dawn, Ryne gains a new sense of resolve, which leads her to stand up against Ran'jit.
Her relationship with Thancred Waters, her liberator and protector, is complex. As Ryne is not the Minfilia he knows and holds dear, Thancred struggled to accept Ryne. Though he followed through Minfilia's wishes in protecting Ryne as he once did for her, he still kept her at a distance and was reluctant to have her embrace her role as the Oracle of Light. This led Ryne to believe that Thancred hated her. However, after hearing her words of resolve and determination against Ran'jit, Thancred apologizes for his earlier behavior.
[seeing Thancred's attempt to save her and the group from her captiveness, worried/puzzled tone] "Thancred?"
G'raha is eccentric, initially playing a game with the Warrior of Light while gathering the aethersand, and whimsically naming the combined investigation team after an ancient Allagan sage.
As the Crystal Exarch, despite his youthful appearance, his mannerisms border on that of a wise older figure, giving both the people of the Crystarium and the Warrior of Light guidance for the duration of their stay in the First. He is not without his own form of pleasant beguilement. Often inspiring those around him to action with words of encouragement, he is an effective leader revered by the people of the Crystarium as a source of wisdom. He is cordial, respectful and inviting toward the Warrior of Light as well as the other Scions and is concerned for their safety and health during their stay in the First.
Despite his good intentions, G'raha is secretive and does not reveal his identity or endgame until he feels this is necessary. This creates a sense of uneasiness to some of the Scions, Y'shtola Rhul stating that he speaks in riddles and half-truths. Nonetheless, G'raha proves himself devoted to the cause and to his friends.
By the time the Crystal Tower is reopened two centuries into the future, G'raha has partially fused with the tower to prolong his life as its keeper. He learns of the Eighth Umbral Calamity that claimed the life of the Warrior of Light and the Scions along with the endless conflict that followed. Acting on a hypothesis proposed by Cid, G'raha sends himself and the Crystal Tower to the First sometime after the Flood of Light occurred. Taking on the identity of the Crystal Exarch, G'raha establishes the Crystarium as a haven for the people of Lakeland.
G'raha attempts to summon the Warrior of Light to the First via the Calling, but ends up summoning the Scions instead. Due to the time difference, the Scions end up appearing years apart from each other. G'raha confides in Urianger Augurelt, telling him everything, and asking him to be his accomplice in a scheme to prevent the First's Rejoining—with full knowledge that the negation of the Eighth Umbral Calamity would erase him and send the Scions back to their world fully restored.
[to Ran'jit after he stopped him before he could give chase at the end part of the scene] "I would sooner see it razed than conquered. Suffice it to say, we are ready to receive you."
[when Ran'jit have asked if he's gonna face him in the battle] "I think not, General. I've quite exhausted my tricks. If you mean to give chase, I will not stand in your way."
"But you would do well to tread warily. For your quarry goes to a place where even Eulmore dare not to bare its steel..."
[Scene changes to close up of Crystal Exarch]
"Il Mheg, the faerie kingdom."
[SPOILERS]
Solus (Emet-Selch) follows the Warrior of Light to the First and observes the Scions' actions. He makes his presence known after Titania's defeat, formally introducing himself by his Ascian title: Emet-Selch. While admitting he is tempted to ally with Eulmore, Emet-Selch offers cooperation with the Scions despite Urianger Augurelt destroying a shade he was using to offer the deal.
Later, when the Warrior of Light, Urianger, Thancred Waters, and Minfilia arrive in the Rak'tika Greatwood, Emet-Selch reiterates his proposal to join the group as an observer, to which the Scions begrudgingly accept. He disappears again after being trapped by the Night's Blessed, reappearing to win the group's trust by retrieving Y'shtola Rhul after she used Flow to escape a pit at the Ronkan ruins. After the Scions defeat Eros, they find ancient murals depicting the Sundering. Emet-Selch reveals the Ascians' true origins along with Hydaelyn and Zodiark being primals.
Emet-Selch remains supportive until the Warrior of Light is unable to contain the amassed light of Norvrandt's Lightwardens, revealing he has been testing the Warrior and the Scions to see if the former would regain enough of their former self to be considered a potential ally. He spirits away the Crystal Exarch after he is revealed to be G'raha Tia. After putting them through another trial in the form of a recreation of his original world, Emet-Selch systematically defeats the Scions while gloating that the Warrior will be consumed by the light. When Ardbert—the Warrior of Light's counterpart in the Warriors of Darkness—merges their souls to stabilize them, the Warrior of Light challenges a furious Emet-Selch who briefly sees them as an Amaurotian.
Emet-Selch reveals his true name as Hades and channels his kin's collective power, refusing to surrender even after being overpowered. The Scions use the white auracite to hold him long enough for the Warrior of Light to kill him with Ardbert's axe. Hades accepts his death, asking the Warrior of Light to remember their people before fading away.
[SPOILERS]
"To think that mountain of Indolence still had the energy to unleash his hounds... Even the most pointless of conflicts may alter a world's course... And now, the plan has gone awry."
[looking down to Crystal Exarch] "But how...? How did the so-called Crystal Exarch bring the hero of the Source to the First?"
[close up shot of mysterious person's jawline] "Mayhap there is another way. One which does not require bloodshed."
Thancred is an intelligent smooth-talker with a fondness for women, though he does get flustered when Minfilia Warde points out some of the shadier elements of his past, even as a compliment. Thancred is devoted to Minfilia and views her as a close friend, akin to a sister. Following the events of the Calamity, Thancred became a workaholic to the point of exhaustion, trying to fill in the shoes of Louisoix Leveilleur.
After learning that Minfilia had become the Word of the Mother, Thancred's disposition changed, becoming less cheerful and more stoic and hardened, though he still retains his dry wit. Despite this, Thancred has come to accept Minfilia's fate. He is devoted to the Scions of the Seventh Dawn's cause and has become something akin to their spy and recon-agent, willing to delve into hostile territory. The other Scions are fond of Thancred and view him as a close friend. Thancred in return is protective of his friends and allies and, in particular, holds the Warrior of Light in the highest esteem. In the later patches of Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood, Thancred is revealed as a cunning and clever tactician.
In Shadowbringers, Thancred's feelings and inner-conflict over Minfilia's fate are laid bare. He is initially reluctant to accept her reincarnation in the First, Ryne, but follows his Minfilia's wish to look after Ryne while keeping emotionally distant. This leads Ryne to believe that Thancred hates her, for which he later apologizes.
Thancred ended up trapped on the First (a reflection of the Source world) years before the Warrior of Light follows suit. He decides to do his part by hunting Sin Eaters, the monsters of light that plague this realm. He learned of Minfilia being revered as the Oracle of Light and of her current incarnation being held captive in Eulmore. Thancred rescued the girl, making her his apprentice while using her magic to complement his role as a Gunbreaker.
Their relationship was initially awkward as Thancred still loved the Minfilia he knew and was thus emotionally distant from her reincarnation. Thancred knows the girl's awakening as the new Oracle of Light would mean his Minfilia would cease to be. Seeing the girl's resolve when she protects him from Ran'jit and expresses her desire to follow her own path, Thancred battles the Eulmorean general and drives him off while nearly being killed in the process. By the time Thancred is reunited with the girl once she becomes the new Oracle, he names her "Ryne" and begins opening up to her. After the newly-arrived Warrior of Light defeats the Ascian Emet-Selch and saves the First, Thancred decides to travel outside Norvrandt with Ryne to hunt down more Lightwardens.
[nearly shouting while he tries to attack Ran'jit again] "And what if I am!?"
