Project Overview

PLEASE READ:

I'm looking for a few narrators to join my team in creating a Fantasy ASMR Storytelling YouTube Channel with 15-30 minute videos from the ground up. These stories would be centered around canonical Dungeons & Dragons lore with the potential to expand to other realms in the future. They'll primarily be focused around things you can listen to before bed or something parents can play for their kids before bedtime/just in general. Things like that!

Full disclosure, I can't pay for the recordings until the channel takes off (obviously) BUT I can trade services. I'm a professional audio engineer of 5 years and media manager by trade and, for a certain amount of recordings (at a rate of $50/recording which I hope to payout in the future with potential to raise it alongside channel growth), I'm willing to help facilitate/create material/record/edit/AND EQ-master your very own professional voiceover demo reel equal to what I typically charge at my discounted rate - $350. To break it down, if you record seven 15-30 minute snippets for us, I'll work through various sessions with you to make you a single demo!

If you think that trade off (for the time being) is adequate, go ahead and audition below! This position definitely has the chance for growth and I'm very confident with the team we already have in place. Looking forward to hearing what you've got!

NOTES/THINGS TO NOTE:

  • Record in a quiet or sound treated space

  • XLR mic/interface preferred, but not required

  • Please send a raw audio file, preferably in 24-bit 48000Hz. NO editing/filtering.

  • We WILL NOT be using your voice for AI in any way, shape, or form(already part of our contracts should you be chosen :D)

ABOVE ALL THE MOST IMPORTANT SUPER MUST-DO NO EXCEPTIONS: Have fun with this. It's D&D fantasy! Do multiple takes if you'd like (up to 3) and mess with some accents/dialects. Tell us a story. Go crazy! Leave any questions in the comments and I'll try to get to them asap.

  • The Fire is Lit, and Roles Have Been Cast.

    A SINCERE thank you to everyone who auditioned. We spent a collective week combing through the talent and comparing stories to voices to see where everyone could potentially fit, and made a lot of incredibly difficult calls.

    In the end, we ended up picking two more voices than we initially thought we'd start with, which is great. Again, if you weren't chosen, do not fret! We're keeping this list handy for sure. Our project is quite the undertaking and will be months in the making to see what sticks. If it takes off, we'll need more people to join the storytellers (hopefully with the pay you deserve :D)

  • CASTING UPDATE

    Hey, everyone!

    200+ submissions is wild - THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! We've selected a few folks already but are still in the selection process with this much talent on our hands. Selections should be made by the end of the week.

    As I mentioned in my last post, don't despair if you're not chosen! We're keeping a lengthy list of people who fit and would love to reach out in the future.

  • Above, Lennithon fought a battle that was invisible to mortal eyes. Each time Mondath's commands pressed against his will, he pushed back with memories of freedom—the taste of storm clouds, the feel of wind beneath his wings without purpose or destination, the simple joy of soaring through mountain passes just to see what lay beyond.
