Project Overview

Hello, all! A while back DB DUBS discovered and released mostly clean M&E tracks for OG Dragon Ball Movies 2 and 3. While official dubs for those films exist, they’re…a bit dated. With these M&E tracks now publicly available, I did what any responsible dude in his 30s who used to do a lot of fandubbing does: write ADR scripts for said films. Now here I am with a casting call! I have a few people already onboard, but I’ll need a few more to fill out the cast. I originally kept things vague/fudged details a bit in the casting call to keep the project a little bit of a surprise, but I decided to go ahead and say what it is.

I also need help completing a couple older DB fandub projects (a more faithful dub of the Trunks TV special and a dub of Plan to Eradicate the Super Saiyans). They got decently far along but still require a few more major roles to finish them off. In particular, I'll need a lot of help for Bulma for all four of these projects. I may also be adding roles depending on whether any of my current actors are unavailable.

One quirk for my Dragon Ball dubs is I like to release two versions: one with terms/pronunciations that more faithfully adapt the original Japanese and one using terms/pronunciations that are compatible with the modern English dubs. That's why you'll see some casting sides with two names (like Kuririn/Krillin). This means I'll need extra takes for some lines using the alternate terms. I've marked the lines in question in the scripts.

I’m hoping to nab folks with solid equipment and recording spaces. XLR setups with interfaces are preferred if you have them, but even just a decent USB mic in a good recording space will go a long way. Definitely no webcam or headset mics, please. I know I can’t expect 100% professional quality for an unpaid fandub project, but I’d like to get as close as we can. I'd also like to direct a much of the cast over Discord as possible, but I'm open to letting you self-record if schedules don't line up or you're not comfortable with live directing sessions.
