Fallout TV Series Inspired NPCs in New Vegas

Fallout TV Series Inspired NPCs in New Vegas

Project Overview

I have been making a series of mods inspired by the upcoming Fallout TV Series. Currently, I'm working on adding Lucy, Maximus, and the Ghoul to New Vegas. If you want to see my other mods inspired by the show, go here: https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/users/109371208?tab=user+files

How did humanity fair over those blighted two centuries? Lucy, one of the lead characters, has no clue. She has lived her entire life inside a subterranean vault,  where every need and want has been satisfied while generations and generations await the day when it is safe to surface. When a crisis forces Lucy to venture above on a rescue mission,  she finds that the planet above remains a hellscape crawling with giant insects,  voracious mutant animal “abominations,”  and a human population of sunbaked miscreants. Lucy is nice, but Lucy is naïve.

Note: The way I characterize Lucy likely won't be how Ella Purnell portrays her.

This is my take on Lucy

  • I'm Lucy. I'm from Vault 33, as you can tell. Vault 33 is out west, in Santa Monica. NCR territory.

  • Well, things were ok. I had to leave due to personal reasons, though I'd prefer not to talk about it.

  • Yes, I have a brother and I still have my dad. He's the Overseer of Vault 33.

the wannabe soldier Maximus, who grew up aboveground but was also raised in a cloistered “family” of sorts. A brutal collective of warriors called the Brotherhood of Steel. He has a cynical sense of self-preservation that leads him to not always behave honorably or heroically.

- Taken from the Vanity Fair article.

Note: Jonathan Nolan calls Maximus a "squire" while other sources say "scribe." Neither title really makes sense for his role. I'll not get into Fallout lore on a casting call, but Initiate makes much more sense, given our context.

I also know the way I characterize Maximus will most likely not be how Aaron Moten will play him in the show.

This is my take on Maximus.

  • My name is Maximus. I'm an initiate in the Brotherhood. One day, I hope to be a Paladin. But, that's a long way out.

  • The Brotherhood is my family. Largely to do with the fact that you have to be born into it. Most of the time, anyway.

  • You'll have to forgive us. We're a very insular community, but we're not the bad guys, I assure you.
