EXE is an old Sonic.EXE comic series that was hosted on the DSi’s Flipnote Hatena, made by a creator known as Lightning™. I had five parts of it saved to my SD card because I loved the comics when I was a creepypasta and Sonic-obsessed tween, but I’ve never seen any reupload or any other mentions of this comic anywhere online. Believe me, I’ve looked for the creator on Flipnote Archive and can’t find anything. It’s not like I can look up his OC or anything either. Believe it or not, Lightning the Hedgehog isn’t exactly an uncommon name in the fandom. Anyways, since seemingly nobody knows or cares about this thing besides me, I’ve decided to do a video about the comic.
The video is going to feature a full dub of the comic parts I have, 1-5. That’s where this casting call comes in. Originally I was just going to do the dub solo and voice every character, but I don’t think people would want to hear me talking to myself for the entire video. So, let’s make it a group effort. If you’d like to voice any of the eight SEVEN characters listed below, then please audition. I’ll be taking the roles of Sonic.EXE himself (because spooky villain voices are fun) along with Amy Rose (because girl vibez).
There aren’t really any requirements I feel like I should mention, besides mic quality. I don’t need anything super high-end or whatever, but it needs to be passable, so no built-in laptop mics or anything like that. Not peaking the mic, little to no background noise, that sorta thing. As for characters, you don’t need to try and replicate the exact voice of any of these characters’ official voice actors, although using their portrayals for referencing tone and whatnot is perfectly alright. Honestly I’m just looking to make a fun fandub, so pretty much everybody is welcome.

I've closed the role for Narrator not because it has been cast, but rather because I think having a narrator narrating the "END OF PART" graphics and whatnot would be kind of redundant for the overall fandub. Each part isn't really that long, so it isn't like a massive project being split up into chapters. I will also not be including most of the narration graphics in the fandub as a lot of them are merely author's notes or the aforementioned "END OF PART' graphics. My original intention for the Narrator Role was to keep the fandub as authentic to the original comic as possible, but have since decided that it would hinder overall enjoyment of the finished product.
The graphics for the Narration will still be included in the full comic which I will be linking in the dub's description, as I will not be making any unnecessary alterations to the original comic outside of the fandub.

Lightning is (I assume) the self-insert OC of the creator. The creator’s username is Lightning, the character’s name is Lightning, I’m just connecting the dots here. I know literally nothing about this character or any established backstory for him, but I’ll give the best summary of the character that I can.
In terms of a voice, since I don’t know anything about this character, I don’t have anything to go off of, so really there’s no “correct” way to dub this character that I know of. The way I picture him sounding is… “anime dub voice.” He should have these exaggerated inflections and whatnot. I dunno, I’m just spitballing. Do whatever you please.
(deep in thought) "What was with that dream I had last night...?"
(overconfident) "HA! I don't buy it, Eggman!"
(somewhat whiny) "Why did you come here...?"
Shadow the Hedgehog, what more can you say? In this comic, Shadow’s typical arrogance is gone, with him being completely focused on solving the mystery of Sonic’s disappearance alongside Lightning. If you had to base your portrayal off of an actual in-game performance, I’d recommend basing it on Jason Griffith’s Shadow in Sonic 06, although that’s not a requirement. I’m open to hearing any and all interpretations. That's why I'm not specifying a specific gender for any of these roles.
(serious) "Sonic went missing last night. It's all over the news."
(frustrated) "Okay, so Sasha moved. Get over it!"
(concerned) "Amy, are you okay?"
In EXE, Tails is a very proactive character. He takes it upon himself to search for Sonic, alone, in the dead of night, after finding bloody footprints, and no bad things come to him ever! That’s a joke, by the way, he fucking dies.
(longingly) "Where are you, Sonic...?"
(determined) "If you want something done right... do it yourself."
(panicking) "I gotta get outta here!!"
Rougher than the rest of them, the best of them, tougher than leather. In EXE, Knuckles is portrayed as a bit more stern and aggressive than we’ve seen him in the recent games. Dude argues, fights, then he dies. Doesn’t mean he’s not cool, though. If you had to base your portrayal off of an actual in-game performance, I’d go for a more Dan Green-inspired take, as I feel like he was the best at portraying an angrier Knuckles. Although like I said with Shadow, it’s not a requirement. Do your own interpretation or whatever, so long as you can get the right vibe.
(frustrated) "Look, I miss Sonic as much as you do, but we *won't* find him."
(serious) "Amy, RUN!!"
(dying) "I-I may not have stopped you... b-but Shadow, Silver, and Lightning will..."
Silver’s kind of a goofier character in EXE. He first shows up in Part 4 and sort of just… asserts himself into the group after breaking into Lightning's house. He’s a bit excitable, and most of his dialogue is written in what I like to call “lol randum deviantart stylez,” but he’s a fun character to have around. Yes, I am making you scream to audition.
(excited) "HI GUYZ!"
(intrigued) "So, can I join you guyz on your quest?"
(frightened) "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH"
Eggman is a minor character, at least in the parts of this comic that I possess, but he still gets two lines so… yeah. He’s very to the point here. His time is being wasted by Lightning and he’s annoyed. No real guidelines for how to portray him, he just needs to sound irritated.
(deadpan) "No, I didn't hurt Sonic. Yet."
(annoyed) "If it WERE me, I wouldn't have let you and Shadow in."
(just for funsies) "Get a load of this!"
Lightning’s girlfriend, I think. They seem romantically involved, but as previously mentioned, I know nothing about the OC. She says two lines before being relegated to a reason for why Lightning is sad. In terms of a portrayal, she should probably sound… quirky? I think that’s what the creator was going for.
(excited) "Pounced ya!"
(casual) "So, whatcha up to?"
(just make some excited noises, I dunno)
Thought I’d throw in a little bonus role for anybody who wants it. The narrator is mainly just the creator leaving author notes at the end of the first few parts, along with a brief “and then Amy explained what happened” thing in Part 4. This role, should you choose to accept it, will involve you reading out the End of Part text at the end of each part along with the author notes. If you can, try to balance a dramatic voice for the “END OF PART” lines with a more casual lighthearted voice for the silly little author’s notes.
(dramatic) "END OF PART 2"
(silly) "That was awesome, right?!"
