Hi! This is the producer for SYNTXE, an audio drama anthology podcast.
Echoes of a Final Letter is SYNTXE's sixth (October) episode in our anthology. When Alex pens a letter to their dead partner, a strange reply that should not have happened, appears. The runtime for this episode is expected to be about 15 minutes.

I’m fairly flexible with deadlines, but generally I’d like to have lines by two weeks of casting (the quicker, the better!). If you don’t think you can meet this deadline, please don’t audition. Recording will be done remotely and asynchronously.

A minor change has been made to the script, resulting in two new roles! Boss and Wiley, the head of the organization and an employee, respectively. Both have minimal lines (less than 5).

A calm narrative voice. Any gender, voice type, or age.
(narrating) A few days had passed since Alex wrote the letter. The envelope still sat nicely on the kitchen table. It felt silly—sending a letter to someone who was no longer there—but something about writing it had given them a small sense of peace. The routine of life continued, each day blending into the next, until one morning, something strange happened.
(narrating) The comfort in Jordan’s words was undeniable, and Alex felt a renewed sense of closeness. It was as if Jordan had never really left. They shared more of their life, talking about the mundane and the profound, and eagerly awaited Jordan’s replies.
(narrating) It became ritual. Each letter passed back and forth brought immense comfort to Alex. Yet, as time went on, subtle but unsettling inconsistencies began to emerge.
Age: Late 20s to early 30s
Gender: Female Voice (they/them)
Type/Sound: Warm, reflective, and slightly melancholic. Her voice carries the weight of grief but also a quiet strength as she navigates her emotions. Think of a tone that is introspective, with a soft, gentle cadence that gradually becomes more confident and hopeful.
(reading as they write a letter) Dear Jordan. I don’t know why I’m writing this. Maybe I just miss you– or maybe... maybe I just need to talk to you again. (pause) Life’s been... different without you. I still think about you every day. It’s funny how the little things remind me of you. Like that song you loved — you know, the one I couldn’t stand? I hear it all the time now. Maybe that’s your way of haunting me.
(to themselves) This is crazy. You’re gone, Jordan. You’re gone, and here I am, talking to myself.
(eagerly) Could someone be using Jordan’s name? Like what if someone was pretending to be them?
Age: Early 30s
Gender: Male Voice (they/them)
Type/Sound: Calm, reassuring, and soothing. Jordan’s voice should evoke a sense of peace and love, with an almost ethereal quality to it. It’s the kind of voice that feels familiar and comforting, with a timeless, slightly nostalgic tone.
(narrating from a letter they wrote) Dear Alex. I’m glad you wrote to me. I’ve missed you too, more than you imagine.
(a light, humorous tone) And when you pushed me off that swing? That actually hurt y’know.
(narrating from a letter they wrote) That truly sounds like a blast. I hope you had lots of fun that day. I remember us attending one of their concerts back when the band just formed, I think they were playing their song titled “Freedom”? Do you still listen to that one?
Age: Late 60s to early 70s
Gender: Female
Voice Type/Sound: Gentle, wise, and slightly raspy. Mrs. Whitaker’s voice should convey a sense of experience and kindness, with a warm, inviting quality. She has a nurturing tone, like someone who has seen much of life and offers wisdom without judgment.
Mrs. Whitaker only has these three lines.
(replying, kindly) You say you’re looking for information about someone named Jordan? I remember someone by that name. Not personally, but I recall a mention in an old column.
(nodding, gently) Yes, I’m afraid so. Jordan passed away several years ago, and their work was left behind. It’s possible that someone else might have been influenced by their writing or even been inspired to continue their legacy.
I don’t think so. The letters might be coming from someone who is deeply familiar with Jordan’s work or even from a place that defies conventional understanding. I’m afraid it’s hard to say, dear.
Age: Middle aged (around 30-50)
Gender: Male
The boss of a company named Bluehut. A supportive boss that prioritizes his company's goals and aspirations. Only has four lines.
(inquiring) Project update on Alex?
(satisfied) Good. He’s on his own now? You’ve guided him to closure?
Your next client has been assigned. Keep up the good work.
Age: Young 20s
Gender/Voice Type: any
A dedicated employee working for Bluehut. Only has these three lines.
(re: a project/assigned task) Successful. Just finished and marked as done.
(confirming) Affirmative, sir.
(apologizing) Yes, sir. Sorry about that.
We’re currently looking for more writers to join our team! You’ll be writing standalone episodes that’ll be produced for our anthology. The requirements are very flexible — any genre, length must be 5-25 pages (aiming for 5-20 minute runtime), and you can write about whatever original story, or if you need we have prompts as well. Preferred if you know how to format it into script format, but if not that’s totally okay too.
