Doki Doki Blue Skies
Project Overview
This is a nonprofit fandub of a mod/extension for Doki Doki Literature club.
It is called Doki Doki Blue Skies
A psychological, choice-heavy take on the world of DDLC, Doki Doki Blue Skies aims to flesh out each character far beyond their stereotypes - giving them real personalities, a peek into what they're like in school, their hopes and dreams, and so much more. With new characters, art, music, poetry, and of course, writing, Blue Skies aims to truly reinvent the world of DDLC. Heavily inspired by Katawa Shoujo, this will take you on a rollercoaster of emotions with your Doki of choice - will blue skies remain, or will the storm take over?

Monika is noted by the other characters to be smart, confident, kind, and athletic. Monika is also known to be popular, which causes the protagonist to have an admiration for her. She always has a calm, gentle expression and is portrayed as mature and hard-working. The type of girl that would be out of anyone's league.
"To be honest, I can't stand all of the politics around the major clubs. It feels like nothing but arguing about the budget and publicity and how to prepare for events. I'd much rather take something I personally enjoy and make something special out of it." (This line is said when the Protagonist first meets Monika and they strike up a conversation. Monika is very passionate about the literature club and says this line with an inviting tone as she talks about wanting to encourage other people about literature)
"It definitely makes waking up for tennis practice a little harder.." (This line is said after the other classmates talk about how cold it has gotten the past few days. More specifically, this is Monika's reply to Natsuki saying "Winter is such a pain." in her classic tsundere fashion.)
"I'd probably be more surprised if you immediately started writing with your own style. Most people go through the same process that you're going through right now. Trying new things is the best way to find the kind of style that suits you, after all." (This line is said after the Protagonist gives Monika his poem. Monika says this line with a bit of reassurance and tries to give some guidance since this is the first poem that the Protagonist has written)
Sayori is initially portrayed as the archetype of a Genki Girl, expressing a talkative and cheery disposition. She is very clumsy, noted for finding ways to accidentally hurt herself or to drop things. Regardless, she is shown to be a cunning individual who can trick others to get food. Sayori is also introduced as the main character's bubbly best friend. The main character seems to view her as airheaded and slightly annoying
"You can just ignore her when she gets moody" (This line is said after the protagonist meets the tsundere Natsuki. The Protagonist is slightly on edge after meeting Natsuki but Sayori comes and says her line quietly into the Protagonist's ear, then turns back to the other girls.)
"And seeing all the snow softly fall during the night is really relaxing, too!" (This line is Sayori response after the girls talk about winter possibly coming. More specifically, Yuri makes a comment about enjoying the snow by staying indoors being all cozy.)
"I get that you're trying to help, but it's hard to see your encouragement as anything more than empty words. This isn't something you can fix just by saying the right stuff." (This line is said in the second half of the trailer. Sayori is at her lowest point and isn't her bubbly personality anymore. She's hurt.)
Yuri is portrayed throughout the majority of the game as being shy, generous, polite, apologetic, very intelligent, mature, eloquent, and passionate about topics she is interested in, although she is also very insecure, awkward, and has a tendency to act slightly condescending and patronizing to mask her self-doubt.
"Yes, we have had discussions about her musical preferences before. While our taste aren't exactly aligned completely, we both tend to appreciate music with thoughtful lyrics." (This line is said in the first half of the trailer. The Protagonist asked Yuri if she has ever asked about the musical preference of 'her' Don't know who they're talking about)
"It does have its upsides, however. It really makes for the perfect weather to snuggle up indoors, with a soothing hot chocolate and a nice book." (This line is Yuri's response to the girls talking about it getting colder and the girls expressing their distaste for it.)
"If it were just the one person who judged me in such a way..w-well, I would be inclined to believe the problem lied in them. But it wasn't just one person. It was everyone...There gets to a point when you finally realize that it's not them who are the problem-It's you." (This line is said in the second half of the trailer. Yuri seems to be hurt by the situation that had occurred. She's very vulnerable and letting herself out. Saying the words she's been wanting to express for a long time.)
Natsuki appears to be a brash, blunt, cranky, and seemingly arrogant girl at first, with a cute, softer interior as a result of insecurity, convincing Monika enough to class her as the embodiment of a tsundere. While she is impulsive and can speak without thinking, Natsuki truly cares about her friends and, even when she has obvious anger issues, doesn't enjoy fights or arguments with people. The classic Tsundere
Natsuki is also shown to be less pushy and more relaxed when she is outside of school, as mentioned by the protagonist when she visits his home. She is also known to be skilled in baking, as she made delicious cupcakes for when the main character first arrives in the Literature Club, and for the festival.
"Ugh, definitely! Winter is such a pain." (This is Natsuki's response to Yuri's comment about it getting colder. Natsuki's classic tsundere act kicking in and giving dislike for the cold. She usually prefers sunshine and rainbows and other cute things. Classic tsundere)
"Sayori, you brought a boy?! Ugh, great..." (Ah, classic tsundere. This line is Natsuki's response to Sayori bringing the Protagonist to the literature club. Natsuki gives a piercing look while folding her arms with an irritated huff. She really hates the Protagonist)
"I can't take this. I just can't. I'm perfectly fine! I don't need money! Stop trying to help me for once! This is yours, not mine!" (This line is said in the second half of the trailer. It seems Natsuki is beyond upset over the help the Protagonist keeps giving her. Her words coming off harsher than ever, rather than her usual Tsundere act. She is more than upset.)
