Disney High: A Magic Star Original Audio Drama
Project Overview
WHAT IS THIS?
Disney High is a roleplay audio drama centered around the Disney universe and yes, the idea was heavily inspired by Once Upon a Time.
Once Upon a Time, in the magical land of Disney, the characters of your favorite Disney films lived in peace and tranquility, the villains scheming new ways of trying to take over the magic kingdom, and the heroes always foiling their plans and coming out on top. but neither hero nor villain could fathom what was to come.....a storm engulfed the land, a magic storm that sent them all to another world, a world with no magic, a world where their stories...were just that, stories. Now, in the town of Walt City, the heroes and villains are mere students and teachers at Disney High School, with no memories of their true identities. how will they regain their memories? what caused that storm that encased the land? and how will they even get back to their home?
We're starting this off by casting the Disney princesses for the series, as well as a few non-princesses but still girls who attend the school. There will be a maximum of 4 lines: 2 as the original Disney character (1 speaking, 1 singing), 1 as their cursed self, and 1 where you improvise your own line as either, as some level of improvisation will be needed for the project.
Open Ethnicity - POC Actors are highly encouraged to audition, especially in terms of the POC Disney Princesses such as Jasmine, Pocahontas, Tiana, Moana, & Mulan.

1. You must have a high-quality microphone, or at the very least, you must be clear for me to hear and have any background noise, peaking, or clipping be minimal.
2. You must have a Discord account, as the project will be going into production over there.

True Disney Name: Snow White
Samantha is the teacher's pet. all the teachers love her, she loves Home Ec as it allows her to make her famous apple pie, and she has a way with animals. She is well known for her kindness and optimism - both of which act as her greatest strengths, as they've guided her safely through the various hardships faced throughout her life. She is quick to charm and can also be playful, and somewhat sassy. Though generally childlike and gentle, Samantha can also be assertive, with the authoritative nature of a mother. With no negativity within her, Samantha is the physical embodiment of positivity and innocence

I think the birds flying around the school deserve a home to live in, in case their wings get tired, plus it's going to rain soon and I don't want the birds to get wet.

True Disney Name: Cinderella
Cindy's family is not the most wealthy out there, nor are they the most kind. Her stepmother and stepsisters always treat her with disdain and emotional abuse. Despite being raised in toxicity and emotional abuse, she always manages to remain kind-hearted and self-loving, unlike her cruel stepfamily, not allowing the bitterness surrounding her life to overtake her and morph her into someone as cruel as them. She makes the most of her misfortunes by remaining optimistic about the possibilities of a brighter future. though she strives to contain her optimistic aura, she can fall into fits of frustration and annoyance quite often. To pay for the things she wants, she has to work and work hard. Despite her financial background, all the girls in school are jealous of her because she ends up making all her dresses for prom and other articles of clothing, and they always turn out so beautiful. She wishes to become a fashion designer after she graduates.
[As Cinderella] Oh, that clock! Old killjoy. I hear you! "C'mon, get up," you say, "Time to start another day." Even he orders me around. Well, there's one thing. They can't order me to stop dreaming.

True Disney Name: Aurora aka Briar Rose
Ashley's parents passed away when she was but an infant, so she grew up under the care of her three aunts. She has narcolepsy, she more than often falls asleep in class. She is a kind, elegant, graceful, angelic, and gentle person as well as a hopelessly romantic one. She is also known to be a slightly shy, playful, and carefree girl. Despite her innocence and apparent dependence on others' actions and opinions, Ashley isn't as passive or helpless as she may seem at first sight. She can be prone to independence and not willing to rely purely on somebody's opinion. Also, she's quite selfless and strong-willed.

True Disney Name: Ariel
Alexa is a bright, spirited, and headstrong girl with a strong passion for adventure and exploration. Her tendency to explore the more dangerous parts of the city can lead to an array of problems for both herself, her friends, and in the confines of her personal life. Despite this, her selflessness, compassion, and intuitive way of thinking often resolve such problems, as she always takes full responsibility for her actions. she loves to sing and she adores music. she is pretty popular among her fellow students. She has a fascination with the ocean and sea life, she even has an aquarium in her bedroom, and volunteers at the Walt City aquarium. she also refuses to eat seafood, as she always feels bad for the fish when she does.
[As Ariel] If only I could make him understand. I just don't see things the way he does. I don't see how a world that makes such wonderful things - could be bad.

Well I've been talking with Principal Raton, and by talking I mean (Chuckles Nervously) begging and pleading but not the point, the point is I convinced him to take the school on a field trip to the WALT CITY AQUARIUM! EEEEEEEEEE!!! This is gonna be so much fun!

True Disney Name: Belle
Brittany has gained a significant amount of intelligence over the years due to her love of books, which have provided her with an elevated vocabulary, an active imagination, and an open mind. She is very confident and outspoken in her opinions and seldom likes being told what to do. She is less concerned about her or others' appearances and can look past appearances into their personality. She is at the top of her class in terms of grades and she is always the first person students turn to if they need a tutor. Despite her high intellect, she yearns for a more adventurous life. She knows she's beautiful but she doesn't like to show it off.
[As Belle] Oh, no, no. He’d never hurt anyone. Please, I know he looks vicious, but he’s really kind and gentle. He’s my friend.

Lewis Carroll, Robert Louis Stevenson, Jules Verne, Oh...here's one I haven't read, "Beauty and the Beast". Hmm don't know why I haven't read it, this is a classic fairy tale. If only falling in love with a monster turned out this glamorous in real life.

True Disney Name: Jasmine
Jennifer is feisty and no-nonsense, with zero tolerance for anyone that belittles her. She is the class president of Disney High and is among the highest academic minds at the school. Strong-willed and defiant, Jennifer is not afraid to speak her mind, nor will she hesitate to stand up for what she believes is right. Despite her cunning, she can sometimes be too fussy and act without thinking things through. Being aware of her sex appeal and the effect that it has on others, She's notorious for flaunting her assets to gain the trust of her enemies, only to betray or humiliate them when the time is right. She hopes to one day go out and travel the world.

True Disney Name: Nala
Nicole is sassy, defensive of her own accomplishments, and giving her best friend cheek when prompted. Though Sammy sometimes tries to claim her ideas as his own, Nicole will not stand for being overlooked and is clever and strong enough to do something about it. Despite this, She's an encouraging friend, kind to Sammy even when he makes a mistake, no matter what he says or does, she maintains the friendship.
NOTE: To clear up some confusion, given that most of the characters kinda regressed as a result of the storm, both Nicole (Nala) and Sammy (Simba) have the personalities they had when they were children in the movie rather than as adults.

Phoebe is an activist, she cares a great deal about the environment and wishes to help people be more aware of it. She is a noble, free-spirited, and highly spiritual girl. She expresses wisdom beyond her years and offers kindness and guidance to those around her. She loves her city, adventure, and nature. Whenever she is lost, she goes to the willow tree where her grandmother was buried, in hopes that she will send her a sign on what she should do.
[As Pocahontas] I won't! I love him, Father. Look around you! This is where the path of hatred has brought us. This is the path I choose, Father. What will yours be?

Elisha is a flirty, exotic young girl. She always lives in the moment, not a lot of ambition on her, She is verbally powerful, street-wise, cunning, and morale. She's a bit of a con artist tho, she always knows how to swindle people out of their money. Aside from her fiery nature and illegal activities, she is ultimately a kind, loving selfless soul underneath.
[As Esmeralda] You mistreat this poor boy the same way you mistreat my people! You speak of justice, yet you are cruel to those most in need of your help!

Melony is a pistol to deal with. She is a free-spirited, independent, and quick-witted girl who is also hurt and bitter due to having her heartbroken by her boyfriend in the past. She is also cynical, snarky, and world-weary. She has a very low opinion of men in general since her experiences with them have been mostly negative. She can be a bit of a manipulator as well.
[As Megara] Megara. My friends call me Meg. At least they would if I had any friends. So, did they give you a name along with all those rippling pectorals?

True Disney Name: Fa Mulan
Monique is a very athletic and tomboyish girl. She wants nothing more than to be part of the school football team, but nobody thinks she'd be able to do it but her friends. she is a free-spirited outcast; a clumsy girl who is unable to follow rules, regulations, or traditions. Despite this, she has a warm heart and wants nothing more than to uphold her family honor while keeping true to herself. However, she can also be fierce, both physically and mentally, as well as self-reliant, impressionable, and persistent.
[As Mulan] Okay, okay, how about this? (clear throat; Mulan speaking in a man's voice name Ping) Excuse me! Where do I sign in? Ha! I see you have a sword! I have one, too! They're very manly and... tough! (drops the sword, Khan neighs laughing; Normal Voice) I'm working on it! Oh. Who am I fooling? It's going to take a miracle to get me into the army.

True Disney Name: Jane Porter
Julie is an exchange student from England. Despite once being a part of upper-class society, she is fairly eccentric and spontaneous — not unlike her father. She still has a sense of standards, however, and tries to stay true to her roots as an Englishwoman, while also adapting to life in Walt City. Overall, she's nevertheless intelligent and greatly gifted in her skills, such as her knowledge in zoology and her artistic abilities. For all of her talents, though, Julie is far from perfect. She has a habit of getting herself into trouble, and sometimes due to her arrogance.
[As Jane] Oh, oh my goodness. Daddy, I was out walking. I was--little baby--little baby monkey, and I drew a picture. Suddenly the monkey starts crying, and I turned around and there's a whole fleet of them! There's an army of monkeys, a huge tree full of them, screaming at me! Terrified I was, terrified. Suddenly I was swinging in a vine, up in the air, swinging, flying, I was in the air. And we were all surrounded. And Daddy, they took my boot
[As Julie, Sketching] No, the nose is too square...Urgh now it's too round, why is it so hard to draw a gorilla?? There we go, quite the cute little thing isn't it? Makes you forget gorillas can be quite scary when they want to be.

True Disney Name: Tiana
Tiffany is an intelligent, resourceful, and highly talented girl, however, she can be overly uptight and far too absorbed in work ethics to focus on relaxing, family, and friends. With a strong sense of honor and integrity, Tiffany firmly believes nothing deserves to be obtained in the world unless it's done through hard work. Aside from her workaholic nature, she has another side to her; one that's passionate, imaginative, and ambitious. She enjoys humor, music, and quality time with loved ones. She becomes excitable whenever mentioning her restaurant, lighting up when she does. She adores Home Ec because it allows her to show off her cooking skills.
[As Tiana] Listen here, Mister. This "stick-in-the-mud" has had to work two jobs her whole life while you've been suckin' on a silver spoon, chasing chambermaids 'round your ivory tower!

Rachel is a bit of a ditz, but also very loyal. she struggles with her grades, she loves to sing, and she always volunteers at the town senior center. She wants to move out and travel, but unfortunately, her controlling stepmother won't allow her to do so. Her friends often tease her about her long hair, telling her she needs to get it cut. She is spirited, and takes great enjoyment in virtually everything life has to offer. Her favorite classes are art and music, as they allow her to be as creative and expressive as she wants.
[As Rapunzel] PUT HIM DOWN! Okay, I don't know where I am and I need him to take me to see the lanterns because I've been dreaming about them my entire life! FIND YOUR HUMANITY! Haven't any of you ever had a dream?!

So I just kept changing and changing and something tells me you don't care. (Chuckles Nervously) Soo C- (Carlotta stares) D-? (Stare) It's an F, isn't it?

True Disney Name: Merida
Madeline is a very bold, brave, daring, courageous, stubborn, rebellious, and headstrong girl. she is spirited, competitive, but also has a chip on her shoulder. She is very athletic and enjoys nothing more than riding her horse and practicing her archery. of which she is the best in the school. She tends to be ungraceful and has bad manners, and is extremely tomboyish. She is also very adventurous and brave, as she enjoys wandering around the forest close to the school. She is very protective of her friends and isn't really into romance. due to an incident in her childhood that led to her father losing his leg to a bear, she cannot stand bears.
NOTE: For the record, the singing line for this one is purely optional as technically, Merida didn't actually sing in the movie, the songs just played over. I just threw it in because I like the idea that it's Merida's voice singing the songs.

Annie is very optimistic, energetic, awkward, and generally far from elegant. She is also free-spirited and has garnered an extrovert mentality. she is quick to make friends and craves affection and companionship, though this serves as potentially her greatest flaw, as she can sometimes be too trusting towards strangers. despite her optimism, Annie also struggles with her self-confidence on occasion. She always tries her hardest to get Elise to lighten up, stop feeling so guilty about the accident and have some fun.
[As Anna] This is awkward. Not you're awkward, but just because we're... I'm awkward-- you're gorgeous. Wait, what?

Sorry I’m late, missed the bus and my dad was taking off for work so he couldn’t drop me off so I had to walk, and along the way, there was this adorable puppy and I was just like “Well I have to pet the puppy, it’d be a crime not to and I’m a law-abiding citizen.” so I went and-and I petted the puppy, but then I heard his stomach growl, which made it clear the puppy was hungry and well, what kinda person would I be if I left a puppy to starve? I’m not heartless! I mean who do you think I am? A puppy...starving...person? No way! So I had to run all the way to the pet store and-I'm rambling, aren't I? Sorry, I'll be quiet now, continue with your teaching...things.

Elise may appear calm, reserved, regal, and - unlike her sister - graceful and poised, but beneath this cool and collected appearance, however, she is quite turbulent. After her sister accidentally fell off her horse when they went horseriding one time, Elise felt personally responsible for the incident. because of this, she has become much more protective of her sister, as well as becoming more insecure, emotionally unstable, anxious, and depressed. When given the chance to rest and relent, however, her true warm, kind, fun-loving, and innocently mischievous personality comes out again. she also loves the winter season.
[As Elsa] Just wait. Slow down. No one's brothers are staying here. No one is getting married.

True Disney Name: Moana
Mia was always drawn to the ocean. she's a diver on the school swim team and she always loves it when she gets to go to the beach. This interest in the ocean is why she considers Alexa one of her best friends. She is sea-loving, headstrong, strong-willed, practically fearless, and physically capable. Though she has moments of self-doubt, she has great pride in who she is, and is generally too stubborn to back away from new challenges.
[As Moana] I am Moana of Motunui. You will board my boat, sail across the sea, and restore the heart of Te Fiti! The ocean chose me!
