"It’s me again. You haven’t been replying to my emails, so I’m just emailing you to make sure you’re OK."

Dear Alice is a short horror story I wrote, using an e-mail format. It's about a woman contacting her lawyer in an attempt to get a restraining order put out against a man who has been stalking her and who broke into her house earlier that morning. In order to achieve this, she sends her lawyer the man's e-mails from the past 24 hours, revealing just how quickly things escalated, and how quickly her stalker descended into madness.

I want to make it an audio-drama type of thing, just a really brief one, that I can post on YouTube and Soundcloud. I'll probably be adding a "over the phone" filter to the recordings, just to add to the effect that this is occurring over the internet (though not particularly over the phone, I feel that taking this route and perhaps making it seem more like voicemail messages sent back and forth might work better with an audio format).

If you want to know more about what you're getting yourself into, you can read the story here:
http://archiveofourown.org/works/8445496

(If you're curious as to why a picture of a duck is the project image, Thom sends Alice pictures of ducks at one point.)

Requirements:
- Good quality audio is preferred for actors (however, for this project, good microphone quality is not necessarily mandatory, though I am more likely to choose an actor with a decent mic over one with a poor quality mic)
- Must be easy to contact if chosen for a role (preferably via e-mail, however Skype also accepted)

Thomas Arterburry, also known simply as Thom, is the stalker. He's madly in love with Alice, and sounds rather desperate in all of his e-mails to her. He's capable of sounding very loving and compassionate, but snaps near the end of the story, "shouting" in his e-mails to her and maniacally begging for her attention. He wants to marry Alice more than anything, and will go to any means to achieve his goal.
Thomas has the majority of work in this story, as he does the most writing.
Any voice type will do.

  • Dear Alice, will you take my surname or will I take yours? I mean, it’s traditionally the wife taking the husband’s surname, but I can’t help but notice we haven’t decided yet. If you want me to take your surname, I will do so gladly. Thomas Collingwood is probably a better change than Alice Arterburry. I just want to know you’re mine, darling. With love, Thom.

  • I left you a voicemail, because you still won’t answer your phone. Well, OK, I left two voicemails. Or maybe three.

  • (drastic/sanity unraveling) I need to hear your voice. I can't sleep without you and THIS DOG WON'T STOP BARKING!

Alice Collingwood, referred to in the story as Alice [redacted], is the woman being stalked. She's frustrated that her lawyer has been dismissing her former inquiries about getting a restraining order against Thomas Arterburry, and she's finally at her limit.
Any voice type will do.

  • Mr. Paddon, Thomas showed up at my house several times last night. He broke in and tried to watch me sleep. I need to change my locks now. This man must truly be insane; he is still going on about marrying me. I am beginning to fear for my life. I want to file a restraining order.

  • Thomas, please stop e-mailing me. ~ Alice

Marcus Paddon is Alice's lawyer. He's a serious, composed man, though at the end of the story, he does express a nervous concern for Alice's wellbeing.
Any voice type will do.

  • Mrs. Collingwood, I sincerely apologize for not taking you seriously at first. Some of my prior clients have overreacted in the past, but I see now that your reaction is justified.
