This project follows Sunset Shimmer as she tries to make amends for what she did in the past and begins to let her guard down around the others.
Radiance is Sunset Shimmer's mother. She appears in Sunset's flashback in Episode 4. Originally Radiance was very excited about having a foal, although this changed when Sunset was born and she was a unicorn. Radiance is quite a traditional and uptight pony - she dislikes traditions being broken and due to this, she reprimands Sunset whenever she uses magic to complete chores or tasks. She frequently tells Sunset Shimmer to hide her magical talent, and does not originally approve of Sunset going to Celestia’s School for Gifted Unicorns, although she begrudgingly allows her to go. She has quite a snooty/snobbish tone to her voice.
Radiance (in offence): Well of course my foal is going to help out in the community! Just watch, my foal will be the greatest earth pony ever born! If I have a colt, he’ll be the strongest stallion here, and if I have a filly, she’ll grow up to be a farmhand’s loyal wife!
Radiance (begrudgingly): Alright, fine! You can take her to Canterlot so she can try for that school.
Radiance (in disbelief and shock): Oh but...but she’s a unicorn!
Star Charge is Sunset Shimmer's younger brother. He appears in Sunset's flashback in Episode 4. Star is the favoured child out of him and his sister, however he greatly looks up to Sunset Shimmer. He gets excited when Sunset uses her magic to show him tricks, even though this regularly results in his sister getting in trouble. Star is quite a calm, collected colt, although he can get scared easily if he or his sister is in trouble. During the flashback, Star has quite a childish voice. During the song at the end, he has a teenage voice.
NOTE: Star will be singing in this audio drama. He will be singing two songs in this episode. You can either sing the following link (lyrics will be modified) or a song from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. Star will also be singing an original song (a lullaby) in this episode. I am looking for singing ability and the ability to convey emotion through the songs.

Star (clapping his hooves; cheering): Woohoo! You’re the best sister in the world Sunset Shimmer!

Blaze is Sunset Shimmer's father. He appears in Sunset's flashback in Episode 4. Like his wife, he is also very traditional and is very stern. He's very strict with Sunset Shimmer and her use of magic, so much so he usually demands her not to use her magic. He favours his earth-pony son to his unicorn daughter. He is not supportive of Sunset going to Celestia’s School for Gifted Unicorns, and only allows her to go because it means he can spend more time with his son
Blaze (playfully flirting): If we have a filly, she’ll be just as beautiful as you, my dear.
Blaze (in shock): What do you mean, she’s a unicorn? How can she be a unicorn?!
Blaze (angrily): Sunset Shimmer! What did I tell you?! Never, never use your magic while in my home!
Ruby is an earth pony mare from Sunset's country town. She's quite a gentle and compassionate mare. She is a friend of Radiance's, but she does not approve of the way Radiance treats her daughter. Ruby is a source of comfort for Sunset Shimmer and later becomes her guardian. Ruby is the mare who finds out about Celestia’s School for Gifted Unicorns and takes Sunset to Canterlot to enrol her into the school. Ruby is very kind and gentle, and has a soothing, gentle voice.
Ruby (softly; with compassion): What are you going to name the baby?
Ruby (excitedly): Oh my gosh, Radiance! She’s beautiful!
Ruby (comfortingly): Oh, Sunset Shimmer, it’s okay. You can talk to me.
Pearl is a unicorn teacher who works in Celestia's School for Gifted Unicorns. She is quite uptight, posh and snobby. Pearl is the unicorn who tests Sunset Shimmer when she applies for Celestia's school. Pearl has a light blue coat and a white mane which is curled at the bottom. She has green eyes.
