Danganronpa Sims: Sim or Reality
Project Overview
This is the sequel to an Instagram project with a plot based off the visual novel Danganronpa (wherein 16 special students are trapped in a place and can't leave without murdering someone and getting away with it - you don't have to know it, since this is the only similarity to it) and shot in the Sims, also taking inspiration from Sims lore and playing with it a bit. It features 17 all-new characters, and since the first installment of this was successful among my friends, I'd like to try a voiced special for the pilot of the sequel. This is all really just for fun, so please audition if you would like to :)
You will need Discord for this project, potentially Instagram. Please have a clear mic. If I don't get enough auditions, I may have you do multiple roles.
Thanks!

An energetic and lively girl whose one dream is to change the world with the power of music. She is the lead of a successful punk band, and likes to play on her electric guitar. She's generally very positive, almost naïvely so, and will bust out her guitar in hopes to fix any scenario. She considers herself to be rebellious in that she defies the popular opinion that everyone lives within a simulation with no free will - she believes that people are real, with hearts that can lead them to do whatever they choose. Very much a protagonist character.
"Excuse me. What says we have to do any of that? We are free-spirited beings! We don't have to! Come on guys, let's bust outta here!"
"I'm not hearing this right-- no, I can't be hearing this right. You don't like music?! That can't be right! Unless you live like, a seriously sad life. Oh! No offense! Sorry if that came off wrong, I totally didn't mean it."
(before a song, in front of an audience)
"Hey, everyone! Thanks for coming out tonight. You know our sound, you know our faces – but I know not all of you know who I *am*. so, let me show you!
I'm Karina and I'm a sim. All of us. Right?
A living, breathing, walking creation... Or, apparently. Do you guys believe in any of that? No? Awesome, I don't either! So what do you say -- let's prove them wrong by rocking real loud, okay? Let's go!"
Kitty is a "plastic surgeon" who thinks her opinion matters: that she knows what looks good and what doesn't look good, and that she supposedly has the power to shape the world to how she sees fit. By her voice, you can tell she's a bit snobby, likes to state her opinion as if no others exist, and wants to keep up with all the latest trends.
"Hahaha, me? I do plastic surgery, emphasis on the 'do', not the plastic surgery. I don't get it myself, oh no. I perfect the imperfections of other people! Have you ever thought about getting a face lift?"
"Face it, not everyone is created equal. But it's easy to change! Why haven't you?"
"How dare you! No, really! I want to know who's in charge of this immediately. I have zero time to be wasting here, kittens!"
A meek, somewhat "feminine" boy who is secretly a merman and has a lot of passion about the sea. He is very secretive and doesn't like to share much about himself, but he holds a lot of compassion for others and pours a lot of that emotion and empathy into his voice. Occasionally stutters, but I can't write that; it has to feel natural. When he gets passionate about something, he feels a lot more confident, but often has to stop himself from saying too much - which is what he's most worried about.
"Did you hear that?
...
That's the call of the ocean. Of the sea.
What? How do I know? Oh, er, it was just a dream. Nothing. I miss the water... I really do.""What do you mean, what was I doing? Nothing! Nothing at all... I promise!
...Please don't tell anyone. This was bad enough... I'm sorry."(nonchalantly humming a tune)
KARMA works as a bouncer: he is big, strong, and tough, but he has a lot of heart. He believes on bringing "karma" to where it needs to be - both literally and metaphorically. he has a great laugh and is the type of guy who can bring joy to others just by speaking to them, instilling them with reassurance, OR with fear - as he can be incredibly intimidating as well.
"There are three types of karma in this world. Good karma, bad karma, and Karma Jo. Heheheh! That's my joke. I tell it to everyone."(angrily)
"Say that again.
Hmph. That's what I thought.""This is more than a 'situation'. Hoh, no... you can't disagree there. But don't look so grim! Cheer up, eh? The whole world is waiting for you."
Derek is a scare actor, like for a haunted house, but he likes to play the role year-round. He loves Halloween obsessively, and likes to test out his own creepy voice acting. However, when he takes off the mask, he turns into a very different person - and has lost a bit of touch with how to interact with people normally, as he's so used to the over-the-top spontaneity. This is a voice that requires a bit of versatility.
(demon-like growl)
"Don't waste your breath... you won't have one much longer."(creepy laugh.) "Watch out. Tonight will be your destruction..." (creepy laugh intensifies.) "Destruction!"
(regular voice.) "I... What happened? Why are you... helping me? Uh... Sorry for how I was... earlier. I didn't mean any harm. But this... it's hard. To explain."
Rose is like a girl who grew straight out of a fairy tale. Actually, she's a children's book illustrator, and delights herself in the whimsies of childlike nostalgia. Rose often speaks in a high-pitched, dramatic, dreamlike, Snow White-like tone and acts like she's stuck in a fantasy. Because why not, right?
"Oh, ladybirds! I love you! And I love you! And mwa-mwa-mwa-mwa... You're all my very, very best friends now! So lovely..."
"Oh, my! (faint scream)... What is that?! Could it be dangerous?! Oh, my! Oh, my!"
"Once upon a time, there was a dove. And she said, 'we are all beautiful angels!'
But not all of us, oh no!"
An adventurer from Selvadorada, Juliano loves mysteries is very interested in discovering the unknown. He holds a mysterious aura and can seem cryptic to those who don't follow his train of thought. He has a Latin American-like accent, Selvadorada being a made up place inspired by South America.
"Ah... The deep mists of Selvadorada. It has been a long time...
Should I tell you a story?
Deep in the heart of the jungle, there is a mystical artifact. So great that not even the greatest of explorers could ever find it. It's older than the Incas. But I have it -- right here.
Beautiful, no?
...Haha, this is only a souvenir from a gift shop. The real one is four thousand times bigger. Its power is unlimited, or so they say.""Do you believe me? Or do you believe the answer is somewhere else? Do you hold yourself to any code? Aye, careful. You look lost."
"This scar? I got it from a fierce fight with the jungle cat. Yes, the tiger. Ferocious, wild. Untamed. But I survived, see?"
A girl who is strong and tomboyish, yet she has a sensitive side. Her voice has a lot of grit/rasp and it's a bit on the lower side. She's a welder who makes knives and other things out of metal. She believes she has to prove her worth to others, but she first has to prove her worth to herself.
"So what? It's not like you guys can't protect yourselves. Take a defense class. Kick 'em in the eye, or whatever. At least nobody looks like a serial killer.""Rose... Kitty. Guys... I didn't ask for a makeover. What's all this pink for? I look ridiculous. Take it off of me. Take it off."
"You're cool, I like you. Want to... do something?
Don't know what there is to do round here, but I'm just offering."
An alien from planet Sixam disguised as a human. Smarter than any human when it comes to advanced science and technology, but lacks in understanding things most humans would consider common knowledge. Mel has learned English mainly from watching TV, and plays himself off so that when people point out these mistakes in common knowledge, he can just attribute it to being a "foreigner". Nevertheless, he is very fascinated in regular human life and may find the simplest things impressive.
"The walls are only cement, they are so weak. We just need a... thing. What do you call it in this language? Ah, you don't know, yourself. Then... I will make one. I am soon to return."
"What is this... foreign substance? It is so weird. Is it toxic?
...Ah, just coffee? Just coffee. Coffee. Coffee is... interesting. I don't drink this... in my homeland."(rehearsed, as if he has heard it from an old TV and is trying to replicate what has been heard.)
"Testing... Testing... Sigma 404 is officially a go. We are ready for the countdown. All systems checked out. 5... 4... 3..."
Tavi is a local radio show host. Very social, very outgoing, and not afraid to get silly and take the lead on a situation. He's the party animal here, but he still doesn't usually know what he's doing. Still, he's pretty chill and charismatic. Not the best at advice, despite the fact that he gives advice on his radio show.
"What's up everyone??? Nothing much, just DJ Tavi, your average, everyday teenage radio host, here to bring you tunes and some talk for your morning coffee. Call in now for a chance for some free tickets!"
"Y'ello. Feel free to introduce starting on my right. Just kidding, it's my turn. Tavi is the name and the Radio is my game. Whaaaat, too cheesy? Nah...""Look, I'm a normal dude, not a detective! I can't handle this-- ey! You're smart, you can figure this out."
She is extremely interested in anime, games, books, fanfiction, movies, and pop culture. Denyse can be a bit overbearing and even perverted, and loves to see fanservice. However, she's also very humorous and friendly. She's always hoping to get others interested in the same stuff she likes, and isn't afraid to sound a little "crazy" about it. But above all, Denyse is pretty weird.
"Hey girls club. What's the sauce? Anyone... *like* someone? Guys, or girls - no judgies.
You have to like someone, or else I'm gonna start...
(slyly) ...Shipping you. (laughs.)""I really want a kitten. Just a kitten.
--Not Kitty, a real kitten. Can we have a cat cafe next? Wait, maid cafe first, then cat cafe.
Yeah... There we go.""It's not called 'stalking', it's called, 'my daily dose of obsession'. I'll find something else by tomorrow. By the way, can I borrow your hat?"
Nathaniel is a melodic, down-to-earth kind of guy - he puts himself down a lot, and often tries to evade hard truths even if he knows they're not right. His voice is typically deep and smooth, but I am willing to hear any sort of take on these lines.
"Me? Please... I'm a nobody.
I don't deserve to be here with all of you. But, thank you.
What should I say about myself...?
...Hm.
Just... go ahead and skip me."
"Well, your background sounds more impressive than mine.
I'm just a tailor. It's an old-fashioned job... Not sure what's extraordinary about it.""You shouldn't be coming to me for advice. You know that...
But I'll listen, if that means anything to you."
Friendly and collected, Camilo is a veterinarian who cares a lot for animals and for the well-being of other people. He seems like a pretty basic guy. He finds psychology interesting. Is there more to him than what seems to be?
"Come here, come here. Tonight, we're a family. If we can eat together, we can live together."
"Mmm, what spice have you used in this? So delicious. Can you teach me how to make this? That way, next time, I can help you."
"What is the point of being 'real' if you don't have thoughts? Tell me your thoughts. Very simple.
...
I see. That is troubling. I can't help you."
Magnolia is a bit blunt, and her mind works like a wonky race track. ask her a question? it's yes or no. want her to position something? she'll spend an hour contemplating it. Magnolia's actions are strange because she's either in too much of a hurry to do something, or she does it far too slowly. If something nearby is wrong, she feels compulsed to fix it. Magnolia is also hard of hearing, so sometimes she won't hear parts of what people are telling her, leading her to just assume what they're saying and giving a general answer. Magnolia is a track runner, and prefers activities where she doesn't have to think much, she just does it.
"Yes. No. Maybe."
"...
Step left. Yes. No, right. Yes. No... wait, don't move.""This is a nightmare. But real. Do you hear me? Real.
...I'm scared."
A girl who loves to dance, both cultural traditional dance and modern hip hop. Anita has a very warm and outgoing, yet almost motherly aura - she tends to stick her nose into places it doesn't belong, and is true and prideful to her own beliefs.
"Oh, you're from England? So lucky... I would love to go someday, you know? Just as a trip. See the world. Maybe soon, right?"
"Thank you. I can teach you, but you don't have to help. No, no, no worries. It's not that I don't want you messing it up - but just let me take care of it, alright?"
"Look over there. They're whispering. What do you think they're saying? It's not something problematic - I hope it's not."
Nadya is a Russian figure skater. She seems like a typical 'ice queen' - she likes the room cold, and due to her accent, can come off cold as well. But she's fairly romantic, and if you get on your good side, she has no problem in helping you out. She also happens to be very competitive.
"You like what you see? Of course you do. I am popular.
...No photos!""My little friend. You're like small petunia. Very fragile. Now watch, I will dance now. You will like it, just see."
"She thinks she is better than me? In what, preschool? I can prove her wrong. Sit, petunia."
Not a real person, but an AI made to host the killing game. Dixie is made to be very upbeat and cheerful, almost feeling like a real person, but does not have the ability to show remorse or empathy. She will assist the others if they have questions for her, but as her role as host, she has limited ability to help them. Despite not being a real human, Dixie typically has a realistic voice, sounding youthful and bright. Only sometimes does it sound off.
"Good morning. Welcome, welcome! You may take a seat, everyone. I am your host, Dixie Clare! You are all stuck here forever - yay!
On behalf of the world, I welcome you. Now I'm taking a picture! Smile for the camera!""I should tell you. I am not a real person, I can't be offended. You are encouraged to ask me whatever you like. I can't be offended, remember."
"I'm sorry - I can't do that for you. That would defeat the purpose, wouldn't it? You are never leaving this place until you kill someone. That's the rules!"
