Danganronpa Re:Birth Voice Blog
Project Overview
Yes, I know it was just an April Fool's Day joke, but I love these characters so much already and I can't help myself, so I'm here to gather some VA's for a voice blog dedicated to "fleshing out" and providing English voices for the characters of Danganronpa Re:Birth!

I have (as of now) gone through every single audition here and recorded my thoughts on them! It was a bit tough, but I finally did it! If you would like to read what I had to say about your audition(s), here's a link to the Google Doc: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1B66ByvzrB8X3K6e5UNBgT2ozy-Tfc405bTiq8MIWhKY

A note to Kasumi Izumo auditionees
When doing Kasumi's creepy laugh, try to put less pressure on your diaphragm! Less pressure on the diaphragm means you'll feel less lightheaded after doing more than one take. Usually if you do too many takes of a laugh — even a scream or sigh — in a position that doesn't allow for proper air flow, you may start to feel incredibly lightheaded, dizzy, and tired. This has actually happened to me a lot in the past, and one of my worst experiences with it was when my chest and ribcage were left aching for the rest of the night. Now, because I don't want any of you to make the same mistakes as I have, here's a handy little tip I learned: simply lean back a little bit before you start laughing. It's just a slight shift in where you put your weight, but it makes everything feel and sound so much better in the end. So for anyone reading this update who wants to audition (or re audition) for Kasumi: once you get to the last line, just take a deep breath, lean back, then laugh!
Pronunciation: me-KOH-toe it-SOO-key
Mikoto Itsuki. Don't bother asking about my talent; I don't know what it is, but it doesn't matter anyways.
I'm sorry, but I have personal matters to attend to at the moment. I'll see you all tomorrow.
Ayumu, you said you wanted to speak to me?
Pronunciation: KOH-gah MEET-soo-NAH-ree
I'm Koga Mitsunari~!
Hm? Sorry, I didn't quite catch that... Mind repeating it again?
(if possible, showcase your silly voices here)
Ah! I'm Kasumi Izumo, the Ultimate Spirit Medium!
I've been able to communicate with the spirits since I was little. Once I began to listen to them, I've never been led wrong!
(give us your best creepy laugh)
Greetings. I am the Ultimate Shrine Maiden, Misuzu Aisaka.
I truly wish I could spend more time with you, but my duties call.
Kasumi, have you ever spoken to a kuchiyose miko?
Ahaha! Hi there! You're speaking to Narumi Ohsone, the Ultimate Gourmet!
Well, I just have an incredibly refined palate! A gourmet can easily tell the difference between-- Blech! Who puts brown rice in sushi?!
I know that my talent doesn't seem as hard as being a chef or a baker, but making sure that the dishes they create are up to par is just as important to the culinary arts!
Hey! I'm Kego Sakuma, the Ultimate DJ! Nice to meet'cha!
Yeah, being a DJ is kinda hard when you don't know what you're working with, but I gotta give mad props to those musicians! I mean, I wouldn't even be here if they hadn't made music for me to mix.
I gotta go, I'm just completely dead at this point... And if you don't stop touching my hair, you'll be dead with me.
Oh, hello! My name is Aruma Todoroki, and I'm the Ultimate Animal Trainer! It's a pleasure to meet you!
Zoos around the world have asked for my assistance in training their exotic animals, though the animals that they call "exotic" are actually very common for me to train!
(ad lib simple dog training)
Pronunciation: KAH-zoo-OH-mi SAH-meh-JEE-mah
Kazuomi Samejima, Ultimate Karate Practicioner. I'd say it's a pleasure to meet you, but I've been told that it's not appropriate to lie to someone you just met.
What do you mean "we're not allowed to leave"?! Don't lie to us!
Hmph. If you have something to say, spit it out before I have to punch it out of you.
Finally, here he is: Monokuma, the mascot of the Danganronpa series! If you can do the voice from the English game dub, you'll be good to go!
I am... Monokuma! And I am this school's headmaster!
It’s not a funeral arrangement! Every time you look over to her, you’ll feel a deep pang of despair rise its way to the surface. Maybe you could have done more? Maybe you could have stopped her from dying? Whatever it is, I just know that despair is manifesting itself right in the corner of your mind!
(give an "upupupu" or two if you can)
If we're going to have a voice blog with original writing, we're going to need scriptwriters. A couple of the VAs and some auditionees on our discord have written a couple character intros, and a class trial is even in progress! If you'd like to be apart of this project as a scriptwriter, please write 2 or 3 short conversations between two Re:Birth characters of your choice (and please do not use the same two characters for all of your conversations). You have the option to submit your writings in text form on our discord, under the channel "scriptwriting_auditions", or you can submit them here in audio form! You may read them in character voices or your normal voice, but just make sure that we can tell who's talking!
