Project Overview
Greetings! Welcome to Danganronpa Afterbirth, a Danganronpa fangame project that will be turned into a either a web series or a game because closely off the actual Danganronpa franchise. Thank you so much for auditioning, and I can't wait to see what you all can do! Please try our for as many or as few roles as you would like. I will be choosing people who I feel fits the roles the best, and there will be no set deadline.

Akira Nakano was an Ultimate student, looking to attend the prestigious Heaven's Crest Academy. He was hopeful that this would be a fresh start, but all hopes were crushed when he and 15 other students are forced ride a giant airship and travel the world, all while being forced to kill one another with bizarre motives. One by one, the students start to turn on one another. Who will be left alive in the end? Who is behind the sinister grin of Tsunokuma? Who's behind the worried, sweet teacher, Kamikuma? Ah-keer-uh Nah-kah-noh
Personality: A very considerate and nice individual, he always puts his friends before himself, viewing them as more important then this own. He is always seen with a gentle, welcoming smile on his face, and tries his best to be polite to his classmates, rarely ever raising his voice to them unless he feels it is absolutely necessary. He is known to be a bit jumpy at times. He is, however, easily saddened by many things, and he often doubts his abilities, especially when it comes to his talent. He doesn’t take well to bullying and will stand up for those who are being bullied; when it comes to himself, however, he grows very passive and accepts the verbal/physical abuse.
Voice: I would imagine a bit of a softer, gentler voice from him. Not exactly a girly, weak voice, but just soft in general. He also should sound polite and caring, and he rarely ever gets angry at others. However, there are times he will raise his voice, so you will need to be prepared for that; it'll happen mainly during trials, but there may be other times he will raise his voice at his classmates.
[lighthearted, polite] Oh, me? Haha, right, I almost forgot to introduce myself. My name is Akira Nakano, and I’m the Ultimate Therapist. It’s nice to meet you.”
[horrified, close to breaking down] “O-Oh my God… th… that’s a… that’s a dead body… th-that’s the corpse of o-one of… our cl-classmates… No way… this can’t be real… This can’t be…”
[firm, strong, confident] “No, that’s wrong!!”
[confident] “Here’s everything that’s happened in this case!”
[pushy, firm] “I see right through your argument!”
Ken-jee Seh-toe
Personality: He’s a kind-hearted person who gets along with almost everyone. Because of this, and the fact they he looks pretty cute, he has gained a lot of female attention, which he isn't sure of how to react to. He is close friends with Akira, as they were close friends in middle school, along with another girl, Angel. He views Akira as a brother, and is always looking out for him; he, Angel, and Akira were like a ragtag family and always relied on one another.. He’s also very reliable, and is good a cheering up his friends (unless he himself is really down). He does anything he can to cheer up Akira, no matter how he may be feeling. While he’s general a very nice guy, he has been known to become very serious, and sometimes downright angry and dark when it comes to people bullying his friends. He has a hard time looking people in the eyes, and tends to avoid looking directly at people unless he knows and trusts them.
Voice: Like Akira, I would imagine a gentle, kind tone, although his voice would be deeper. He is a happy character, but don’t make him bubbly and carefree. He’s is quite peaceful and passive. A good voice I would compare it to is Makoto Tachibana from the English Dub of Free!
[polite, welcoming] “I’ll introduce myself, too. My name is Kenji Seto, and I’m the Ultimate Baker. It’s very nice to meet you.”
[surprised, happy] “Oh…! A gift for me? How thoughtful of you, Akira. I’ll cherish this.”
[dark, eerily calm despite being pissed] “I don’t appreciate you blindly accusing our friends like that. Unless you have some real evidence, I would suggest that you *shut it*, because you aren’t helping anything by opening your mouth.”
Lou-shis He-mur-uh
Personality: Described by his classmates as reserved and shy, he tends to keep quiet and rarely speaks unless he feels it’s necessary. He keeps to himself, but that doesn’t mean he’s anti-social. He longs to engage with his classmates, but feels that he’s too creepy for them, or that they won’t like him. While he enjoys demons and everything to do with the subject, he also enjoys small animals, chocolate, the night sky, and meaningful conversations. He has a baby raven with him at all times, whom he calls Beezle. His fluffy black tail moves with his emotions, as well, like wagging when he’s happy or wrapping around him when he’s scared or upset.
Voice: He speaks in a tone that could be called monotone, though he does sound nervous and unsure when he speaks to others. When talking about things he loves, he gets really excited, and he’s much more open to speaking, although he gets embarrassed and flustered for expressing himself so much. A good voice I would compare his to is Gundam, but maybe not as intense as Gundam can get.
[quiet, monotone, awkward] “Greetings… my name is Lucius Himura, and I am known as the Ultimate Demonologist… and this here is Beezle. Perhaps you would like to speak with me some other time, or not. Either way, I shall be here…”
[surprised, excited, then more embarrassed and sheepish] “You wish to hear more about my talent?! Well, first let me…! Uh… um… pardon… What would you like to know?”
[flustered, shocked] “Y-you…! Y-you really got me something…? Thank you, Akira… This is the nicest thing that anyone has ever given to me. I will hold it dear to me.”
Hero-muh (Hero) Mah-key-har-uh
Personality: When he’s not lost in thought or busy working on inventions or concepts for inventions, you can find him with his face buried in his a book. It takes a bit to get his attention, but once you do, you find that he is a very cheerful and creative person. He loves rambling on and on about his inventions, and tends to not know when to shut up. He can be a bit annoying at times without meaning to, and he’s also naive when it comes to many things. He gets really excited over little things, especially when someone shows interest in what he does or when he gets gifts.
Voice: I imagine him having a much more chipper and excited voice. A good range I would imagine him having, or close to having, would be the Japanese voice for Keebo.
[muttering to himself before being surprised, and then excited] “Ah… the internal structure of this place is beautiful… I’m honestly surprised how well this is made actually… Hm? Oh! Sorry, heh! I didn’t see you there. My name is Hiroma Makihara, but you’re welcome to call me Hiro! I’m the Ultimate Steampunk Engineer!”
[confused and then terrified] “A what game? Killing… game…? Wait…!! *KILLING* GAME?!* Wh-what do you mean…?! Y-you’re making us *kill* each other?!”
[super happy and excited] “Ahh!! You got me a gift, Akira?! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! I could just hug you right now!”
Key-oh-she Tah-kah-har-uh
Personality: He's the type of person that always thinks things through, sometimes overthinking things in the process. He likes to plan for just about everything, and hates when his plans are ignored, or don’t go to plan. He looks up to his classmates, especially Akira and Kenji, he wants to be brave like them. He can be a bit quiet and awkward at first, but when you start to bring him out of his shell, he's a loyal friend you'll have for life. He gets nervous about lots of things, due to his tendency to overthink things, and he has many fears.
Voice: I imagine a voice close to Chihiro possible for him, but less timid. I mean, there are times that he panics when he overthinks things, but other then that, he’s generally a pretty calm and easy-going person.
[happy, welcoming] “Hello, it’s nice to meet you. I’m Kioshi Takahara.”
[annoyed] “Okay, yeah, this is happening now. This isn’t part of the plan to figure out who the mastermind is, but whatever, I guess.”
[scared, upset] “H-how can we even be happy after the news that we’re forced to *kill* one another to escape? Th-there’s no reason to be happy... This is like a horror movie come to life....!"
Yoh-she-koh Kah-tah-muh
Personality: She tries to come off as a very cheerful girl who tries to look on the positive side of things, but she doesn’t always succeed; actually, she rarely succeeds. She isn’t super bright when it comes to things other than books, and is almost always putting herself down; though, she somehow manages to keep a smile as she does it. She cares deeply for her family and friends, and she wants to see them succeed in life, even if she can’t. She suffers from depression and anxiety, and takes medication for it, though she won’t tell her friends in fear they will treat her differently or pity her.
Voice: I would imagine a very timid and fearful, high voice for her, but not as high as Mikan.
[surprised, timid] “Eep!! Ah, sorry…! I didn’t mean to panic like that…! You just startled me is all. Me? Oh… umm… I’m Yoshiko Kamata… I’m the Ultimate Librarian…”
[terrified, sobbing] “Y-you…! Y-you’re making us k-k-kill each other…?! Th-that’s horrible! Y-you’re a monster…!”
[sad] “I miss my family… I-I wish Kamikuma would tell us why we’re on this giant airship… and I-I hope we’re able to leave soon…”
Chee-yoh-koh Foo-jee-tuh
Personality: She comes off as an arrogant, spoiled, bratty girl who always gets what she wants and constantly looks down on others. She is quick to tell others what to do so she doesn’t have to dirty her hands with tough labor. She has a superior attitude, and isn’t afraid to say her opinions out loud. In reality, she suffers from an inferiority complex and has been lonely since the death of her mother. Her older sister is always put above her, so she does everything she can to get her father’s attention.
Voice: She has a medium to high voice, and she has should sound spoiled and bratty. Don’t give her a voice like Hiyoko, please, because I think that’s too high of a voice.
[rude, then condescending and snobbish] “You want to know who I am? Hmph! Well, I’m a little hurt and surprised that you don’t know who I am already, but since you asked me so politely, I’ll do so. My name is Chiyoko Fujita, and I am the Ultimate Dress Maker.”
[cheerful] “Oh-hohoho! You flatter me so with these gifts, Akira! I shall take this with gratitude! Be honored that I decided to accept this. It’s not everyday that I accept simple trinkets like these.”
[angry] “Hmph! Excuse you! I don’t appreciate your comments about my talent! I’ll have you know that I’ve worked very hard to be recognized for my work!”
Hah-nah-doh-koo Kah-jee-wh-are-uh
Personality: She is very forward about everything she does, and whenever she sees anyone cute, male or female, she won’t hesitate to flaunt herself and flirt until she charms the pants off of them. She enjoys being the life of the party, and is known for running one of the most well-known nightclubs. She can be a bit whiny when things don’t do her way, and she often pleads and pouts cutely until her bidding is done. Despite all this, she is a lot nicer than her sister, and is more willing to interact and make friends.
Voice: A medium to high pitched voice would work best for her. She a very flirty and seductive person, though she has been known to sound more childish and whiny when she wants something or when things aren’t going her way.
[flirtatious] “I guess you want to know who I am, yes? Well, lemme tell you. I’m the finger down your spine when the lights are out. When I pout and shed a tear, the whole world tries to make me smile. I’m the name on everyone’s lips. Hanadoku Kajiwara, the Ultimate Nightclub Owner. Pleasure to meet you, dolls.”
[pouty, upset] “Aww, no fair, Kireinhana. You never listen to my ideas! You’re always treating me like some child!”
[upset, close to tears] “My sister is so unfair! She’s always belittling me. She’s the smart one, and she’s always been the favorite child. She’s always going on and on about her successes, but completely forgets that I’m here too! She likes to discredit me because I run a nightclub and not some high end joint, but I’m not like her! It’s not fair!”
Key-ren-hah-nah Kah-jee-wh-are-uh
Personality: As the complete opposite of her sister, she is a workaholic, and she’s always thinking about ways to make her business bigger and better. She is much more mature than her sister is, and is known to me much wittier and more goal-driven. She loses her temper easily when things don’t go her way, and she can become really scary when she starts screaming and throwing things. She doesn’t care about making friends, and only thinks of her classmates as pawns.
Voice: Medium to low pitch for her voice. She is a very sophisticated and well-bred woman, but she is known for her short temper, so be prepared for the moments when she does snap.
[sophisticated] “You probably have heard of me. Kireinhana Kajiwara, Ultimate Business Manager. If you have met my sister, or have yet to meet her, I do apologize for her crassness.”
[angry, yelling] “My sister is a disgusting cretin! Can you believe that she participates in such disgusting and disgraceful acts at this age?! I’m absolutely appalled by her!”
[surprised, trying to keep herself collected] "This is for me...? Hmm, well, I'll take it off your hands. It'll make a nice paperweight for my desk. Thank you."
Naht-sue-oh Wah-tah-nah-bee
Personality: Resourceful and crafty, his skills have helped him escape from juvie after juvie, and even evade capture at times. His peers often described him as arrogant, confident, cheerful, and easily bored, he tends to do things impulsively to quell his boredom. He is known for his crude, brash nature, and has been known to make snarky, rude comments to his classmates. He also enjoys scaring the crap out of his classmates with horror stories, and he gets a good laugh out of their fear. Despite all this, though, he does have a kind heart, although he’d never admit that out loud to anyone; he’d rather die than admit that he’s a good person.
Voice: He would sound like your typical bad boy, with a medium to low pitch. Originally, I came up with him when I was watching Total Drama, and Duncan was a huge inspiration, so you can use him for reference, but I would love to hear what you come up with.
[annoyed] “Listen, kid. I don’t want to be here anymore than you do, and I don’t really feel like fucking interacting with you lot. My name is Natsuo Watanabe, and I’m the Ultimate Delinquent. Now that you know who I am, why don’t you leave me the hell alone?”
[laugh evilly and then speak in a creepy, ominous tone; sound like you’re smirking] “Mwuhahahaha!! Didn’t you hear? One of us is a crazed axe-wielding murderer!!”
[angry, threatening] “What the fuck do you mean by ‘*killing game*’, you stuffed bastard?!”
Ray-den Yah-mah-moh-toh
Personality: He comes over a very friendly and welcoming person, always smiling and acting as the calm, collected one. However, underneath all that, he is a sadistic and obsessive person who has sick fantasies; he has a fetish with beautiful bodies and body parts, especially eyes and hands, and is constantly commenting to characters (especially Akira) to take good care of themselves and to not taint the purity of their precious body parts. This all slowly starts to come out over time as the killing game progresses.
Voice: I imagine something sort of light and cheery when he is under his facade, but he would have a much darker, sinister tone when he’s being a creeper towards his classmates.
[cheery, lighthearted] “Oh, greetings. It’s nice to see some more friendly faces. My name is Raden Yamamoto, Ultimate Prosthetic Designer. Very nice to meet you finally.”
[creepy, fascinated] “Oh my! Akira, what beautiful blue eyes you have! They’re just like crystals with how sparkle in the light. Take good care of them, will you?”
[ominous, creepy] “Hmm? Killing game? How interesting~”
Oh-key-me You-key-mur-uh
Personality: She’s a very optimistic person, though she can be headstrong at times, which can lead to problems when she blindly runs into things without thinking. She is known for her determination and her bravery. She wants to make friends with all of her classmates, and is hurt when someone commits a murder; she’s especially hurt, and more angry, when someone doesn’t show remorse for committing a murder. She is known for her pretty cheesy and corny puns, which often leave her classmates groaning and shaking their heads.
Voice: She should have a high to medium pitch, and she should sound very cheerful and brave. She is a very forward person, and she rarely doubts her words.
[cheerful, bright] “Hey! It’s nice to meetcha! I’m Okimi Yukimura, and I’m known as the Ultimate Mythologist!”
[excited, cheerful, basically sparkling with happiness] “Hey, hey! You wanna hear about this really awesome Greek God? His name is Dionysus, and he’s really great!”
[gleeful, giggling, trying to remain serious while looking at a statue] “Hmm? I wish Medusa would stop objectifying people! Hehehe!”
She-koh Nee-she-mur-uh
Personality: Surprisingly enough, she is a strong, somewhat rebellious individual, although not as much so as Natsuo. She is a compassionate person, who is always does her best to give advice to her classmates. She acts as a bit of a voice of reason for her classmates, as well, especially in terms of investigations. She holds grudges against those who have wronged her. She does not take well to people ordering her around, and will not hesitate to snap back to those who dare challenge her.
Voice: She should have a medium pitch. She should sound kinda rude and like she doesn’t care. However, she has been known to show other emotions, so you’ll need good range.
[blunt] “Shiko Nishimura, Ultimate Bartender. Nice to meet you, I suppose.”
[motherly, matter-of-fact] “Listen to me, Akira. Not everyone will want to get along, and nothing you do will change that. What I suggest is that you focus on the people who care enough to accept your help, and the people who don’t care can focus on themselves.”
[angry, snappish] “Listen here, Natsuo! I’m really sick of your attitude! I would suggest you *shut* your mouth before I shut it for you, you hardheaded punk!”
Toe-moh-me More-ee
Personality: She comes off as very serious and polite when it comes to her talent, and she takes everything regarding her talent very seriously; it is her livelihood after all. Her personality is a little rough around the edges, often described as blunt, but she secretly worries and gets down on herself when she thinks she’s hurt one of her classmates with her words. She wants to be nicer, but has a hard time opening up to people.
Voice: She has a very blunt, firm voice, and a medium to low range of voice. A good voice I would compare to hers is Peko’s English voice from the game.
[blunt, to the point] “Me? I’m Tomomi Mori, the Ultimate Landscaper. If you’re done talking, I’d like to get back to tending the garden. I don’t have time for idle chit-chat. If you want to talk, come back later.”
[worried, frowning, quiet] “I… Are you alright…? I didn’t… sorry…”
[surprised, embarrassed, appreciative] “You… are giving this to me? Hmm… I s-suppose I can take it off your hands. Thank you.”
Say-j Bur-nell
Personality: A very cheerful person in general, she loves to see people smile. She has a funny and somewhat sarcastic sense of humor. She does have a more sensitive side. She comes from America, so she tends to be rather nervous and shy at first when meeting people.
Voice: She is a cheerful girl, however, I don’t see her as having a very high voice. I think a voice that’s more in the medium range would suit her. She does show many emotions, so be prepared for that. A good voice to compare hers to would be Flora from Fire Emblem Fates
[Cheerful] “Hello! It’s awesome to meet you… Oh wait, I didn’t even introduce myself yet, ehehe! I, Sage Bernell, am the Ultimate Embalmer. I know, a strange talent.”
[serious, but reminiscent towards end] “I came here on an internship for mortuary science. That’s when I found I had a knack for being an Embalmer. I found an interest in being able to preserve the last moments of someone and making them look their best. Everyone deserves to look their best for their last showing, even if dead. So I stayed here to study more, though I do get a little homesick every once in awhile."
[polite not to hurt feelings] “T-This is uhh a nice gift but… um, IIIII think maybe someone would like this more than me, hehe… but thanks anyway.”
R-eeee-ahn (Seh-roo-lee-ehn) (Seh-roo) Meh-more-eee (tongue flip the R in Rian almost like a D. It should sound like the end of the word Cerulean, but with an R instead of an L). [Please ask for help if you are confused]
Personality: Known for his hums of thought and constant sleepiness, he is COMPLETELY monotone and lifeless, with absolutely no personality. He barely every raises his voice or really ever cares about anything, honestly. He’s always dead inside, but somehow still has a little something that makes him charming to most people, despite being bullied for all of the above. In short, he doesn’t really HAVE a personality.
Voice: Completely dead and flat, but a more childlike tone. So basically he shouldn’t sound like an older teenager, because he’s not one. He is the youngest of the cast.
[completely monotone] “...Oh. Hi. Nice to meet you, Akira… that’s your name, right…? Hmm… oh, well… my name is Rian Memori, but… I don’t really like that, so… how about Cerulean? Makes sense, right…? Hmmm… I’m the Ultimate Prodigy…”
[still monotone, tired] “...Blue is so pretty… just thinking about it… it’s like… a glimmer of an ocean, across a plain of swaying blue lilies… and a smooth crystal sky… it sounds nice. Too bad that whole thing… doesn’t exist… hmm. Oh well… I’m sleepy… zzz…”
[hesitant] “...That’s… wait… are you trying to be my friend…? That’s a little weird… but I’ll take that, if you don’t want it… I could use it… probably… hmm…”
Kah-mee-koo-muh
Personality: She is a very loving and sweet teacher towards her students, often calling them ‘dears’ and ‘her precious students’. However, as soon as her brother appears, she grows very panicky and frightened, but she still does her best to protect her students as best she can. She is horrified when her students murder and are murdered, but she always holds onto the faith that her students didn't do it in the end.
Voice: I imagine her being lighter and happier, similar to Monomi or Monophanie, but she does often cry out in fear and such, so be prepared for that.
[cheerful and welcoming] “Hello, my lovely students! I’m Kamikuma! I’m sweet as honey and twice as cute as a bunny!"
[whimpering] “I-I’m sorry! Please don’t hate me! I-I just want all my precious students to get along with one another!”
[her laugh] “Kuku~”
Soo-no-koo-muh
Personality: A very sadistic and crazy demon, he absolutely despises the students and would much rather watch them all kill each other. He likes shouting obscene things, and he enjoys seeing the fear his announcement of the killing game and motives brings to everyone. The only one he hates more than the students is his sister, Kamikuma, who he sees as a whiny, annoying brat.
Voice: I imagine something close to Monokuma, but perhaps scratchier and more gruff and menacing. I mean, not that Monokuma wasn’t already menacing, but I imagine him being deeper than Monokuma.
[boastful almost] “Hello, punks! Name’s Tsunokuma! I’m friends with the devil, but I’m *twice* as mean!!”
[growling, rude] “Hey, quit your yammerin’ so I can tell you about this killing game, you Ultimate *freaks*, or I’ll have to stab you all with my pitchfork, and that’s a lot less exciting for me than the creative ways I’ve thought up to kill you!!”
[his laughter] “Mwe-hee-hee!”
Any and all artists and art submissions are welcome! Seriously, any at all! We need artists to make this project come to life, because my art isn't all that good, haha. So please. please audition!!
Now, artists will have to be committed to the project, and willing to take instructions, and be consistent with how the characters are depicted. If there is something you don't understand, or something that may possibly need to be changed, talk to the admins, and we can work something out. Also, a good thing to note is that tracing/stealing art or ideas of others is NOT permitted at all.

Please, please audition, even if you're unsure! We need music to fit out OST, so any and all submissions are welcome! Of course, just like artists, you cannot steal music. You must have originality. Also, as making music can take time, we are willing to make compromises for due dates. We'll need to see consistency in your work for the most part, and you must be willing to make slight changes.

For this project to actually exist and go through, these roles are so, so important. They are needed to either animate spites and such to make it look like an actual DR games, or to make an actual game very similar to the games. Please, please apply even if you are unsure!
Of course, like for artists and composers, guidelines will be set. As this will be the final product, timely work is necessary, and very, very important to keep in mind. Although, if due dates needs to be pushed back, talk to the admins, and we can work something out. Do not steal ideas or copy things from other animators, so please so all your own work! You will also need to be willing to make small changes when asked, and communication is very important.
