Cubbyholes - Animated Short Film
Project Overview
Cubbyholes is a horror/comedy 2D animated short film with two teddy bear janitors discovering a slime monster inside an elementary school. It will be roughly 2 minutes in length.
Please note there will be NO actual dialogue/spoken word in this film, only grammelot, expressive breathing, reactions, vocalizations, etc. (example: Pingu). A large portion of this film requires action-driven audio such as screams, cries, grunts and exclamations (for reference: Miles Upshur from Outlast).
Some pre-audition information:
1. Applicants with an existing voiceover reel and/or appropriate recording space and equipment will be prioritized. Please try to submit the best quality you can with minimal background noise as possible.
2. The final voice recordings for the film will need to be completed by November 2025. Any last minute-revisions or additions after this time will be compensated pro rata (based on your hourly/negotiated rate.)
3. This is a student led and non-profit project which will be submitted to major North American animation festivals (TAAFI, OIAF). During the festival circuit the film will not be publicly posted on platforms such as YouTube.
4. Applicants chosen for the role will be fully credited in the film, in festival submissions and promotional material.

Puffy is a short and stout bear who is an anxious scaredy cat. He is very wimpy but his voice does not necessarily need to be high pitched. (eg: Shawn Baichoo as Miles Upshur from Outlast)

Bommel is a tall and ugly surly bear who could care less about getting his job done. He is older sounding and has an obnoxious and sarcastic tone (eg: Alex Ivanovici as Richard Trager from Outlast).
