CrystalPunk: 'Past' Short Film
Project Overview
Hello, everyone!
I'm assembling a team for an animated sci-fi short film, about six-seven minutes in length. I hope this project will lead to many more in the future; this story is my pride and joy, and I've got BIG plans for it.

25, they/them, AFAB, white. A devoted, gifted, and perpetually tired/grumpy arbiter of New York’s underworld. Feared by all that hear of their exploits, but themself only having one thing left to fear- that their surrogate father, the man who raised them into who they are today, has vanished forever. Nevertheless, they do what they must day-to-day to carry out their father’s ideals, maintain peace in the underworld, keep the lights on, and maybe catch some sleep for once in their life. Provided they win the scheduling lottery. Somehow. Auditions may play up any level of androgyny, but should capture the frustration and diligence of just wanting to get this done with cleanly so you can get to the next thing on this godforsaken planning list.

“Bad territory pick. This for a few blocks is Machyo turf. Leave, and you’ll get out. Ignore me, and you get a warning shot. Ignore that, you’re never leaving this alley again. And that was the warning shot. Choice is locked in, let’s just get this over with…”
“Look, I don’t expect you to agree, and I really don’t care. Sometimes, a human life keeps the lights on. And when the lights are on, the coffee machine works. And look- the lights are on. And look at me, uncaffeinated. *sigh* Fuck me, I need a cup…”
“No! I promised, I… I swore I’d find you, to follow you like I always tried to! A-and now I’ve found you, and… you’re saying you didn’t want to be found, and… that… Did you never want me…?”
51, he/him, cis. A kindly middle-aged African American man, his years slowing his body but not his mind. He cares deeply for those around him, trying to eke out his own existence and help anyone he can to thrive. Auditions should play into the slow, deep, caring voice of a man who can melt your heart with just a smile. His tone should call to mind every kind older person you’ve ever met, that made you just want to give them a hug that would remind you both in an instant there’s still nice things in this world. New York accent optional.

“When did you wake up this morning? And when did you last eat? So, yes. No. You’re not leaving until you eat two hot dogs. Okay, sonny?”
“Oh, I don’t know about any of that. What I know for sure is this stand right here. It’s most of what I have now, but I’d say it’s most of what I need.”
“You have the biggest heart I’ve ever seen, young lady. I know your mother would be so proud of you, wherever she may be looking down on us from right now. For both of us, don’t lose it.”
Looking for 3D artists to create urban environments, and rig camera motions.
