What is this?
This is a full dubbing of the 12 episode series "Crest of the Stars" airing in 1999. It is the first installment in the much larger "Sekai" series and unlike other anime, is based off a novel. The show is described as a Sci-Fi, Romance, Military Drama.
Why dub this one?
The Sekai series isn't easy to get into because of it's cult status, it's age and it's atrocious dub. It is my favorite series, which is why it's unfortunate I can't tell people to go watch it.
PLEASE DO NOT USE THE OFFICIAL DUB FOR INSIGHT, IT IS NOT GOOD.

Hi everyone. Thank you for your curiosity and interest in the project. Here is the first BIG update to the call.
Firstly I've created a bunch of supporting roles that I haven't gotten filled out quite yet. They'll be available very soon so in the mean time save any you may be interested in. A second call will be held for more supporting roles, but these are the ones we're gonna fill out first.
I'll have everything set up before the casting deadline so there won't be any finger tapping - you'll be able to start as soon as your casted.
I've decided to start leaving comments on peoples submissions. the intention with this is that you'll be able to better pick up on what I'm looking for, which will lead to more informed decisions.
Please do not take the feedback as being a bad thing, this is to HELP you get casted and I won't dock you for giving it a second go either.

I'm looking for a voice that's calm, young sounding and a little reserved. it's important to keep in mind that she is about 16 years of age. She is third in line for the throne and dislikes being referred to by title. She is also quite stubborn and is easy to agitate.

Jinto is the lead character. He is very honest, kind and cares for the wellbeing of others. He is also very young as well with him being a year older then Lafiel (17). For more masculine voice's I recommend trying out a original voice. For feminine voices I recommend you look at the original voice for the character.

Before each episode there is a narration on certain things (Mostly history and science related) explained in the novel that give you a bigger picture of the world the characters are in. The narration voice is fairly deep and very peaceful. Imagine a deep voiced science narrator talking about the universe, that's the voice I'm looking for.

I'm proficient at editing, but I need someone to clean audio as well as add SFX and the provided music to the show.

The supreme commander of Abh's forces. He is in charge of taking over Jinto's planet, to which he doesn't think of as a very "Glorious" Job. He should sound direct, bored and a bit demanding.
I find that taking over this planet is far from glamorous.
My will and the empire are one in the same.

Spoor is an officer and captain of her ship who prides herself on being very close to the Royal family. She is quite outgoing and loves to say she's "bored" as a means of teasing her crew. About early 30's voice wise.

Rock Linn's friend and official. Because of Rock's presidential status he is the primary caretaker of Jinto. His voice should sound quite old and kind of deep.

Rock is Jinto's father as well as the president. He commits high treason for making a deal with the empire: Surrender the planet in exchange for making him the ruler of it

Dorin is considered Jinto's closet friends and is the only person to show up before Jinto leaves with Lafiel. His voice should about in his late teens. Inviting and bit more eccentric then Jinto.

Klowal is a noble of a obscure star system that Jinto and Lafiel stop at. He plans to imprison them indefinitely. Klowal is deceitful and a massive liar and his voice should reflect that.
The young man doesn't deserve to be treat as a Noble
He is being treated the way we treat all of his kind.
I cannot stand to have them around me.

Seenay is a vassal on Klowal's ship. Her life takes a turn when Lafiel and Jinto expose Klowal as not really being who he says he is, and she rebels against him helping them both escape from his ship. .Seelnay's voice is more on the higher side, she is almost comically polite and will apologize over almost everything.

Entryua is a part of the United Mankind Police Force. He is forced to work with Kyte on a stolen vehicle case (caused by Jinto and Lafiel) with an ulterior motive (See Hyde description). He should sound old (about his mid 40's) and should display some contempt.

Kyte is leader of the manhunt for Jinto and Lafiel. His motive is fueled by his hatred for Jinto as he is seen as a traitor to his people. He also like most humans has contempt for all Abh (which includes Lafiel) for having control over there planet. Hyde is very ambitious and is completely unhinged so his voice should reflect that.
