Color Frugality

Project Overview

Color Frugality is an up-and-coming object show about various crudely drawn (yes, it’s on purpose!) characters who are seemingly spawned into this drawn world. At the mercy of a ridiculous host named “Skribbley,” and with no other options- or a way out- they’re forced to battle for the greatest gift in the world; Color. Whatever that’s supposed to do.


Might as well give it a shot.

I, part of the No Mouth Gang, cannot voice any characters, so i’ve come to Casting Call Club to find some voices for these spectacular people! I prefer to use Discord to contact you, but can also use Twitter if that’s your thing, so please have one of either.

I appreciate any and all people who offer to be part of this show.

Some fun things;

-I will TRY to remove any static noises or anything, but I'm no professional, so please try your best to keep it out of the audio.

-You will have to voice a lot of things! This is a episodic process, and I do not control who gets the boot and when. So, you may be forced to voice until the very end.

-I will try my best to be as accomodating as possible, but if i’m doing something wrong and you feel like I should change that, please tell me.

  • AND WE ARE DONE!

    That’s so amazing! I managed to cast EVERY role with a beautiful voice actor and I still am reeling at the fact this even happened. Every single person who applied has a beautiful voice and it’s honestly so amazing you all offered to lend it to me. Just because you didn’t get into this project does not mean it was bad (a lot of them were so outrageously good) and i implore you to keep offering to do VA work if that’s your thing. The time you won’t be spending here leaves you with so many opportunities to do other, more amazing things. So thank you, thank you, for offering. If you WERE cast, hello!   • This was a lot more than I expected

    Wow! It’s gonna be hard to sift through all these and pick just one because they are all SO GOOD. When I came here, I wasn’t expecting much. I though it would take, like, a month to fill these spots. But here we are. It’s been, like, 3 days? 4? And I have basically 50 AUDITIONS. Wow! That’s so amazing and I thank you all so much for offering your voices to this fun little animation project where a bunch of sad doodles suffer. If you’ve already been cast, please message me if you read this! I just wanna confirm that everyone I cast knows that I’ll ask for lines a LOT of times since I have to write every episode fresh from after the first is done. As for all the uncasted roles, i’m leaving some of them open to get more auditions, but the deadline will stay the same from now on and every role will be cast if possible the day before then! (This is to account for if a character didn't receive enough auditions and/or the only available option is someone who was already cast.) Skribbley- as they go by- is the “host“ of Color Frugality. They appear as anyone, anywhere, on the walls. They won’t tell anyone where they are, who they are- other than their names- or why they must compete for… whatever Color is supposed to be.

Their personality can take very sudden shifts, and their voice is slightly higher pitched and more energetic than normal.

  • (Normal) “Hello, everyone…”

    ”Uh…”

    ”Welcome to, uh… Color… Frugality. That’s the name.”

  • (Energetic, annoyed) “Say, kiddos, wouldn’t you happen to notice we are in THE. MIDDLE. OF. A. CHALLENGE. You do? Greeeeat. I hate to, yknow, cut this moment short, but you should be doing that. Like, now.”

  • “LISTEN! I make the rules. I made this game. I made this.. this world! This is all because of ME. and without me, you would never get another competition- anither CHANCE- like this. Ever. Again.

Wi-Fi’s voice is more gender-neutral, but masc leans are okay!

Wi-Fi! You know em. You love em. You saw em in the explanation video!

Wi-Fi is very bubbly, always with a positive outlook. However, they very easily get upset. They are prone to crying, and are usually confused about whats going on.

Their voice reflects this!


Nobody even knows how they talk. They have no mouth.

  • “Hi! I’m… something, I don’t know. Who are you? What’s your name?”

  • “Wait… color? I mean, I got color right here!”

    (pause)

    ”if... white… is a color.”

  • (Upset) “That’s not how this works. That’s-… thats not how 𝘼𝙉𝙔 of this works, okay?!”

Red Bowtie is a 9 year old who is VERY into action movies. He’s very childish and upbeat, and doesn’t even know what to say most of the time due to his excitement..

…but why does his name say “Red?”

Please have your voice seem at least somewhat childish.

  • (Excited) “Listen, have you even SEEN The Hunger Games?! Like, I wish I had hair so I could be her! Maybe… maybe I can get a wig.”

  • “NONONONO i’m not done talking to you yet! I have yet to tell you about every Jurassic Park installment!!  Please!”

  • (Short, sweet) “..I don’t know what you’re talking about.” :D

Pouch is a mom friend… kind of. She’s really, really hard on them. But she loves everyone and only wants the best for them. So, of course she’s the mom friend. She’s literally a mom!


Her voice is a bit deeper, and feminine,

  • “Aw, sweetheart, it’s okay! Come here, Mama’s got a pouch of hugs waiting for ya.”

  • “I know… I know it’s- it’s… it’s hard. It’s awful. But it’ll be okay. I promise.”

Jingly is a middle aged woman who is a TOTAL valley girl- or, she presents to be. In reality, she’s a hardened and straightforward individual who puts up a constant facade of “I’m a GIRLBOSS!”


Any fem voice is okay, but deeper pitched females are preferred! Also, please be able to go to a more deadpan tone from an excited one- You can record the lines twice if you’d like to demonstrate this for everything, but the third is specifically for that.

  • “HELLOOOOOO besties! What’s up?? And, like, where are we?”

  • ”You seem to be mistaken… i’m, like *THE* covergirl! I’m the one YOU want to be. Got that, squeaker?”

  • (Deadpan, serious) “No, no, i’m…. It’s only a hobby. I’m a famous model, sure… but I know what a bullet feels like, okay?”

Ani is a total cynic. He’s usually upset with someone, and doesn’t seem to have many values. He doesn’t even… really.. care. He claims to not have any good life left, so what is there to lose?

His voice is a much deeper voice, but still sounding youthful.

  • “I’m not here to be a bundle of joy, shortstop. I’m here because some *nutcase* of a CHILDREN’S WALL DOODLE BROUGHT ME HERE!”

  • “This isn't funny. This was NEVER funny.”

  • “I don’t CARE anymore, okay? I’m HAPPY about being here because all I ever did back home was WATCH TV in a FOREST. ALONE. So don’t rag on to me about ‘Being more considerate.”

Wine Glass is a very young adult- almost a teen- who is very anxious. He is never cracking a joke, and barely ever laughing. He simply… is scared.


His voice is at a normal pitch, but almost teen-like.

  • (Rapid, terrified) “I can’t do this. I- I can’t I can’t do it I can’t do it IM NOT DOING THIS, SKRIBBLEY!”

  • (Deadpan, almost sad in a way) “Never have I wished so hard that something was a dream… and been serious.”

  • “It’s not a barrel of laughs. This- This is mind erasure.”

Thinking Emoji is a bundle of pure, unfiltered joy. Despite not knowing- or caring- about what most things are or mean, and not bothering to look for signs of danger… she’s somehow alive! So she’s on this show, and she’s lookin forward to it.

She’s got a teenage fem voice! Very hyper!

  • “Hi! So, I would introduce myself, but I can’t exactly.. remember. What my name is. But hey! I got this cool hand thing! so, I think THAT is a bonus.”

  • “WOW! I mean, I have no idea what that means, but the way you said it is cool. So, well, i’m sold!”

  • (Quiet, less hyper, more soothing) “I’m not sure of the future… in this game. What I do know is that we will be okay.”
