Collision: Redeemed [A Sims 4 Film]

Collision: Redeemed [A Sims 4 Film]

Project Overview

"There are pivotal moments of transformation in every one of our lives. Some of them good; some of them bad. He is both sides of the same coin I've flipped since then... but, still, I carry him. I need both the pain and the comfort. I need the weight. I need him."

Collision: Redeemed is the sequel to The Sims 4 film Collision. Set two years after the first film, Monte and Hana are doing what they can to reach oasis, but the two face an internal dilemma further strained by their support systems.

Collision is based on the independently-published novel of the same name, written by Shay Desyreá.

Some things to note:

  • This casting call remains incomplete until the end of 2023. Filming will conduct subsequent to book release (April 5, 2024) with completed script to be sent out after deadline closes. Film is set to release in March of 2025.

  • Due to casting call being incomplete, the casting call will be updated with additional openings. The characters present as of August 2023 is NOT a complete list of characters, and therefore it is recommended to refer to the posting at a later time for updated role openings. UPDATE 3/29/2024: All characters final.

  • Speaking of roles, there will be more than what is depicted. Half of the roles are reprisal roles from VAs from the first film and are therefore closed by default. Should this change for any circumstance, candidates will be reached out to privately for an offer to substitute accordingly. So, what this means is: audition, even with doubt. Not being casted does not mean no involvement.

  • The film will be touching on heavier, NSFW topics. Mentions of substance abuse, death, child neglect, sexual content, adult language, and depictions of violence will all be covered in the film. Please audition at your own discretion.

  • Though the novels go into far more depth about the characters, their motivations and their backgrounds way more than the films do, I'm not expecting anyone to purchase a copy. I do, however, highly recommend watching the first film and getting a sense of the story before auditioning. You can find it attached here.

General rules & disclaimers:

  • Moderate/mid-budget equipment is a must. You don't have to have your own studio set-up or the most expensive, name brand gear, but please make sure your mics sound beautiful!

  • Accents are not mandatory, but rather a preference. It is totally fine if you have an accent completely distinguishable from what's listed.

  • Please give the line at least two takes, and play around with the pacing/tone of it! It's your playground -- give the swing a try, followed by the slide!

  • Don't just read the line "with emotion". Act! If you believe it, I will, too!

  • Most importantly, have fun! This project is mostly for leisure.

  • If you are interested in joining a cast/crew Discord server, please drop your Discord username in the caption of your submission file. I post many updates and announcements there, including opportunities for cast Q+As, team building exercises, and behind the scenes snippets/promos. This will be a long project.

Break a leg! I can't wait to work with you all!

UPDATE 1/02/2025: This project is receiving a final deadline extension to this Saturday, 1/04/2025. The final roles open have been arranged to the top for convenience. Please send in your auditions at your earliest, as script release has already taken place in the cast Discord server. Roles will be chosen by the end of Sunday, 1/05/2024. - Viva

Supporting character.

DOB: February 4th

Age: 25

Birthplace: HIghland Park, IL (north of Chicago)

Occupation: med student, intern at St. Agatha's Hospital, trust fund inheritor

Hobbies: luxurious shopping, football, baseball

Silas Astor, an aspiring doctor, is the love interest of the main protagonist, Hana Cloet. He is charismatic and intelligent, but writhes in jealousy, often extremely protective of loved ones and possessive of things he worked hard to earn. A materialistic man with traditional values, Silas strives a picket-fence lifestyle with a trophy wife, which may come off as misogynistic and uncouth. At face value, Silas seeks only a submissive partner who does as they're told, but in reality, Silas is accustomed to a very particular lifestyle that he intends to maintain. He often hangs around members only of his socioeconomic class and his nepotism makes him a fairly wealthy man for his age.

  • My countless hours studying — thousands of dollars investing into our future… that’s my give. (stern) We will continue this discussion when we’re done.

  • And — Lety, is it? (a beat) How long have you two been seeing each other? Must be pretty awkward having Hana spring up on your guys.

  • (light scoff) Your exam… (vindictive) What was the plan? Pass it, transfer… marry him instead? (accusatory, muttering) I knew there was a reason you were pushing it so much. (jealous) He’s got your fucking name on his neck —

Monte's devout and charitable little sister with whom he has an undying bond. Due to their upbringing, Moira was raised more as Monte's unofficial "daughter" than as a typical younger sibling, often times overprotective and strict with her actions. Despite this, Moira maintains her bond him while simultaneously pushing for acknowledgement of her independence.

  • (annoyed) It’s the “moving out” talk all over again…

  • (SIGH) Mom, Monte doesn’t hate you. He’s just… trying to protect me. Besides, right now he’s his own worst enemy.

Age: 44

Birthplace: Montreal, Canada, immigrated to Carlsbad, CA (dual citizen)

Occupation: Waitress

Charlotte Davidson is the biological mother of Monte and Moira. Despite her affiliation, Charlotte is not seen as a maternal figure by either party. Charlotte struggled immensely with substance abuse, often using them to the point of intervention from her own son to save her life. She is very loving, sentimental, and apologetic, but has a hopeless demeanor due to her guilt regarding her lack of presence for her children. She doesn't get along with her ex and father of the two, Donnie Earl, but continues to socialize with his family for the sake of her children.

Supporting character.

DOB: April 3rd

Birthplace: Aurora, IL

Occupation: paralegal

Hobbies: spending time with family, exercising, crocheting

Vanessa is the life/domestic partner of Hana's father, Henry. They are not married, though their relationship teeters on the brink of such representation. She is passively mentioned (not by name) in the first film but plays a heavier role in the novel. Vanessa has a son of her own, who is a military service member. Vanessa has always been, and continues to be, mindful of how she has "motherly" conversations with Hana as she doesn't want to overstep her bounds, however for the most part, Hana confides in and trusts her. Vanessa is compassionate beyond measure and only seeks happiness for Henry and Hana collaboratively, however, she is not a fan of Hana's fiance Silas, contrary to Henry who is. She is noted as a sort of peacekeeper between the father and daughter and does not outrightly confess this. She is supportive of Hana's dreams and goals, no matter what, and sees them in their rawness. She steps in as a mother figure for Hana (within her boundaries) and is anticipative of Hana pushing out of her cookie-cutter lifestyle.

  • (exasperated) Oh, Henry, will you ease up already? They’re fine— just jetlagged. Let them rest.

  • I’ve learned a lot these past forty years — used to be in a… pretty bad place. (a beat) Your father is the best relationship I’ve ever had… and those lessons taught me what I needed to learn.

  • Hm. (a beat, then sarcastic) And that beats a former juvenile delinquent, of course.

Cooper is, historically, the oldest and closest friend of Monte Earl. He and his sister Candace have been aware of Monte and Moira's situation since the very beginning, often-times sticking their necks out for them to provide protection from their father. In the novel, Cooper is described as Monte's "brother" and "best man in [Monte's] wedding, if [he] ever had one". He is ambitious, goofy, and a bit of a jokester, but knows how to be serious with the time begs for it. He has a small crush on Lety Harris, who does not feel any sort of attraction to him despite this disclosure.

Supporting character.

DOB: August 14th

Birthplace: San Diego, CA

Occupation: cosmetologist and exotic dancer

Hobbies: surfing, social gatherings

Lety Harris is a considerate friend (and neighbor) of the Earls. Little is known about her biological family. Lety faces a background of abandonment and replacement and knows what it's like to feel devalued in terms of a platonic (or otherwise) relationship. Due to this, she isn't quick to trust, forgiveness is a difficult feat, and she is protective of whom she deems close, including the Earl siblings. She is the love interest of the main protagonist Monte Earl. Described as rigourous externally, Lety's personality comes off as passive-aggressive and she proves intimidating to those who are unfamiliar with and to her. Contrary to this, though, she's kind-hearted, philanthropic, mature, and quick-witted.

  • *starting line: "Please don't look at me [like some kicked dog]." (sympathetic, but firm) Then stop acting like one. Moira’s right — eventually you’re going to have to crawl out of this rut. It’s been two years —

  • (playful) You’re a child, I swear to Jesus. (exasperated sigh) Are you ready to go?

  • (solemn, as if in thought) No one ever tells you how bad it really sucks. I mean, sure, everyone feels sorry for foster kids, orphans… but living it is like some nightmare you can’t wake up from. You can’t get comfortable, so you don’t get attached… which means you don’t hurt as bad. And we pretend like it doesn’t at all – we make excuses… we say it’s for the best... but that's how the cycle continues.

Birthplace: La Mesa, CA (San Diego County)

Occupation: Urban artist, sales-keeper

Candace is the best friend of Moira Earl. She and her brother, Cooper, have been closely involved with the Earls since childhood. Candace is a year older than Moira, yet vibes with her very well. She is often described as Moira's "sidekick". Candace is very much like a sister to Moira, and the two are commonly seen together more often than apart. Candace's relationship with Monte is similar to that of Moira's only with a slightly more "sibling" aspect, as Candace and Cooper had a better upbringing than the Earls. She is charming, extroverted, loyal, and conniving.

  • *Reference line: "So, what are you two getting on about?" (light chuckle) Ideas for what to do for your birthday.
