Clapper & Boom (Animated Series)
Project Overview
Join the misadventures of two limbless mice-hampster-moose-bunnies as they strive to become the most popular social influencers on the planet!
In this upbeat, wacky and ridiculous series, even the narrator is taken for a ride as Clapper & Boom take unconventional paths to internet fame.
This "Animaniacs"-esque comedic 2D animation dares to have even uglier animation than South Park, with no color, no mouth movements, and more importantly - no limbs.
Each episode is approx 5 minutes in length, 8 episodes total (to start with), and uploaded onto the Pixel Palace YouTube alongside the channel's regular content.
We're looking for a voice actress for Boom (female lead), and multiple voice actors for other male & female roles both one-off and reoccuring.
We're also looking for 2D animators, character designers and background artists to match the simplistic, rough looking style of the pre-existing Clapper & Boom episodes.
This is initially an unpaid project. Though once the channel begins receiving revenue, payment will be introduced.

Boom, like Clapper, is enthusiastic, full of life, silly, immature and naïve (think Mabel in Gravity Falls). She's always willing to dive into something without thinking of the consequence. She considers Clapper as "the sheriff", but she tries to squeeze herself into the spotlight at any opportunity.
Unlike Clapper, she's a short fuse. She explodes with rage if you say the wrong thing to her. She also happens to be a very passionate and defensive vegan feminist.
Her voice is childish (but she's not a child), a bit squeaky, energetic and quick paced.

(When the receptionist finally acknowledges her) "FINALLY! I've been waiting for like - a FOREVER! I'll take a vegan pork sandwich, a bouquet of lilies, and one TV pilot made by Clappy Boom Pictures, please."
(First day as a barista) "It's okay, Boom. You've been training all morning for this. You just have to serve coffee. It's super easy ...I CAN'T TAKE THIS ANYMORE! IT'S TOO HARD! I'm wasted in this job."
"A light ring is ten bucks. We have about minus seventy thousand dollars in the bank. I've been told my math isn't so good, but it sounds like we're off to a great start!"
The Narrator regularly interacts with on screen characters - the fourth wall in this show is virtually non existent. The Narrator is constantly taken for a ride and often gets annoyed with the disrespect the on screen characters show. When setting the scene, they are dramatic - like a movie trailer voice guy. They love their job, and hates when they're unable to do it.

"Today marks the greatest achievement ever known to man kind. It's the day I finally found my missing sock! It was stuck in that little cupboard-y thing in the bottom of the dryer. But that has nothing to do with this week's episode of Clapper & Boom!"
"You know, for the very first piece of dialogue of the entire series that wasn't exactly impressive."
(After Clapper & Boom make fun of the narrator) "I am here you know! Turns out I don't have a trailer and I'm very annoyed. Where's my bit of fame?! Where's my vegan pork sandwich?!"
Looking for a select few voice actors to take on multiple roles, both one-offs and recurring.
Feel free to attach previous cartoonish demos from other projects!

MR/MRS BLYMIE (Network Executive): "Shut up, Narrator! This is not a good time. All my network shows have gone down the sewers. Unless we get a brand new show pitch within the next five seconds, I will be bankrupt!
NETWORK NINJA: "Not...so...fast." (Reacting to Clapper & Boom screaming - feel free to improvise) "Hey. Hey! S-stop! HEY!" (They shut up. Improvise away.) "Oh god. Why are you so loud? Shut up! Man. Wow." (Back to ninja mode) "I am the network ninja. You have something of ours and I'm here to take it back."
RECEPTIONIST WHO'S CLEARLY ON ANGER MANAGEMENT: "All I ever do is try to be nice to people. And then you come along and steal from me and throw me into fights. Well I've had enough fighting." (Charges into a fight) "YAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!"
Probably the easiest animating gig you'll ever receive. You'll take the background graphics, character designs and audio files provided to you and create 5 minute 2D animations using different character body parts to show their emotion - like South Park, but these characters don't even have limbs to animate. There's also no need to animate mouths to every word - just have their mouths open (and with the appropriate emotion shown) while the character is talking. As I say, super ugly animation.

You'll draw appropriate backgrounds for each scene in a 2D, hand drawn style. Like South Park, but there's no color or shading. Not a lot of detail is required either.

Design and draw each character in the 2D, hand-drawn, colorless style shown above and pass it onto the animator for animating. You'll also draw separate eyes, mouths, hands and feet for the animator to play with.
