Hello everyone, this is the open casting call for Chivalry of a failed knight and it is my pleasure to welcome you all to the chance to be a part of this project.


So let’s get a few things out of the way.

Fan service: We’ll be removing most of the fan service that just not tasteful. So the opening scene where Ikki walks in on Stella? No longer in the show!


Mic quality: You do need a good quality mic, if there is background noise or a buzzing over your audition, don’t bother applying.


Swearing/ Adult content: The script does have lot of profanity. I shouldn’t have to tell you that but just so you can’t say I didn’t.



With that out of the way this will be a project that covers between 10 and 12 episodes across the first season of the anime and even if another season does come out we won’t abridge it. Anyone who auditions needs to have discord and an email to keep in contact.


All characters who are going to be cast for the abridged series will be listed below however each character will be casted around the time they show up unless an audition truly stands out, Keep checking in to see which characters are going to be cast for each episode's release. Note that the characters in this casting is only for the first 6 episodes, those who are cast will continue their roles for the next six but there will be another casting for additional roles at a later date.

  • Casting!

    I come back from one heroine induced coma and 80+ people audition for my abridged series? Seriously the level of voice actors makes casting a hard job and I'm as lazy as they get so I'm really angry with all of you for making the casting process to god damn hard. In all seriousness thank you everyfor for auditioning, we had 40 auditions within the first 4 days and im sure I could break 100 if I left it open for a few more days. Not to mention I could have casted at day 3 and been happy with the result, only to have more talenete people audition day after day. You guys are setting the bar pretty high for this project, I'll have to work hard to meet that standard. Let us not wait any longer, it's 12 pm est so I'll begin the casting, I'll also be messaging people who I really want for future roles or projects to join the project group even though they didn't get a part for this specific casting call. Thank you everyone, this has been a wonderful week and a half for me and I look forward to working with all of you.

  • Deadline moved forward!

    Hey everyone! I never expected in a million years I would have so many amazing voice actors audition for this project and it drove me to work harder than ever and I'm actually much farther ahead on the project than I thought I would be. I could honestly cast right now and be happy with the results, that being said I want to give a little more time for those who cant audition now or are stilll working to get their's out. That being said the new Deadline will be the 29th, a week from today! I'll be contacting my top picks days before the deadline to see if they are still interested and then cast on the 29th at noon EST.   • Removal of a character

    Hello everyone, First off I would like to thank all of you for auditioning, Everyone sounds so good and honestly I could cast right now and be happy with the result. I'll have a lot to live up to making this, with all the talent that has come to the table. With that said I'm sorry for anyone preparing an audition or thinking about maybe trying out for the role but I'm cutting Yuki from the script. after completing the first episode's script I just felt like she was a bad joke to pad runtime. I looked for other scenes she was in and just couldn't think of a place to add her. So I'm sorry but I'll be cutting her out of the script until further notice. Thank you all and good luck when the auditions roll around!

The hero of this story, fangirls way to hard about everyone. Ikki Steals sword play techniques from other, better swordsmen and has next to no magical powers making him one of the lowest ranked students in the school. Ikki loves combat maybe a little too much and is always looking for a stronger opponent.

  • (Apologetically) Sorry Stella, I’d love to keep going, your swordsmanship is amazing. This is a dream come true for me. (Serious) But this is the end.

  • I know, in hindsight taking off my clothes was a pretty bad idea but when your hero is getting undressed in your room there is like a 50 / 50 chance of getting laid. It was a calculated risk but man am I bad at math.

  • ( fighting grunts and yells ) ,  (Angry) Don’t you dare touch her! I’ll fucking end you!

Voice Type: Medium female voice, threatening and angry

A strong, fiery woman who has a deep gambling problem and believes it is impossible for her to lose. Her tone is almost always aggressive and accusatory however she will have a romance with Ikki so she has many soft moments.


  • (Overly sweet) How about you jump off a bridge and we’ll pretend it never happened?


  • (Angry, spoken quickly) Scared? (Pause) Scared? Bitch I will end you! Your ass will be grass, I’m going to beat you so hard you’ll think I’m your step-dad! (Pause) Who’s scared now? Need a tampon for your huge floppy vagina?


  • (Surprised, accusatory) H-huh? Are you trying to distract me? Scared of me that much are you? W-Why not just fight me like a real man?

The director of the school most of the students attend, she constantly uses silly swears rather than actual curse words and will constantly be chiming in on what’s going on throughout the series as a comic relief character.


  • (Angry) What the frick frack patty wack were you thinking Kurogane? You’ve been here for twelve heckin’ minutes!

  • You do realize she’s not joking about the bridge right? She already has one picked out, the kindergarten next door is giving out splash zone rain coats right now.


  • (commanding) Alright listen up you two, I’ve had enough of you bickering like a couple sexually confused porcupines (pause) Shut your Sausage hole and listen up! It’s clear neither of you have enough social skills to work this how so go hit each other until one of you drops and whoever wins gets to make the rules. (another pause) What Stella? You scared?

Voice type: High female, Childish / impish

Shizuku is a character who acts serious and is more of a supporting role to give us some understanding into the character of Ikki Kurogane and in this iteration is not related to him by blood, She will be a mostly serious character who helps a lot of characters grow and become better people. All the while constantly joking happily about devouring the souls of the innocent. The only person who ever her speaking like this will be Stella.


  • (happily) *giggles* You will be left screaming in a bottomless pit of your own broken dreams, there will be nothing left of you. As the bells toll marks the last hour, hark for you are already dead.


  • (content) I love my big brother, everyone was always so mean to him. So their lives will only be unending torment and misery.

  • Hell hath frozen over and even the devil cries for mercy at my wake.

Voice type: Either high male or Low female.

Alice’s voice should be as gendernuetral as you can make her. The running joke of her character is that no one can guess which gender she is. The end of this running gag is that it never mattered because everyone just liked her for her. She is constantly oblivious to other characters who find her extremely attractive and just wants to help everyone, like the group mom.


  • (Pleasantly surprised) Oh my, why thank you Stella. I never expected you to be so nice after all the stories Shizuku told me.


  • (Feigning ignorance) Whatever could you mean? I just came in here to talk to you, I had no other intentions.

  • (Laughing) Now if I didn’t know any better I’d say you were flirting with me Ikki.

Voice type: Any female, Loud vulgar and aggressive

The only teacher who shows up Yukki’s weird trop of being ill and sick is replaced with a vulgar teacher who ‘jokes’ about killing ‘bitches’ in the streets and eating their hearts. She swears none stop and talks trash to everyone, this will be extra fun during the tournament arc and during her opening scene.


  • (Aggressively) You all must be real proud sitting where you are, high and mighty wizards and witches tippy tappin’ on your laptops and texting away on your phones. I’ve just got one thing to say to you (pause) You pig shit mother fuckers better listen the fuck up, Yall are my bitches now and bitches who talk back get eaten. (pause) You think I’m joking fart knocker?


  • (Calm and threatening) Seems like someone wants be made into a mother fucking omelet


  • (Screaming) Looks like bitchface can’t even stand up anymore, boo fucking hoo honey I got girls on street corners who work it harder than you!

Kagami will be an offscreen voice constantly telling characters to ‘just do it’ Telling them she wants to have sex with them or voicing displeasure in characters not having sex.

This character is not a nice one. He’s vile and all he really does look like an idiot. He takes a group hostage after a robbery gone wrong and can’t seem to deescalate the situation. He does some pretty shitty stuff.


  • (Angry) It wasn’t my fault! How was I supposed to know the guns weren’t loaded? (pause) We all agreed we’d pull a name out of a hat, it’s not my fault it was a gun store!


  • (Begging) Oh please god no! I swear I can do better. I’ll stop mugging children, I’ll give to the homeless, I’ll pay my parking tickets! Anything please!


  • (Stressed) Wow, real mature, Hank (pause) Yes hank, kill the woman, her kid too. Whiny brat.

Kirihara thinks he’s really hot shit. He is however shit, a coward who when backed up into a corner begs for his life. This monster takes enjoyment out of making others look bad. He will be throwing insults left and right at nearly every character.

  • (Mocking/ Laughing) Damn was that your leg? Does it hurt, it looks like it hurt, I’d say I’m sorry but we both know I’m well past half mast right now. Come on Kurogane, look at it. (pause) If you don’t look at me while we do this it just won’t be the same.

Ayase is extremely manipulative, promising her body and marriage to Ikki for helping her but she actually just wants them both to die so that no one knows she couldn’t beat Kuraudo.

  • (Embarrassed) I wasn’t staring, oh god it’s just you’re so good looking, I mean! Oh man! Wow you’re amazing!

  • (Mocking, not in a shy voice) Oh wow these people are stupid, it’s like they want me to screw them over.

Kuraudo will actually be made into a much larger character spanning a few more scenes and much more dialogue over those scenes. His impact on Ikki to try harder and to enjoy fighting will be stated more more heavily. Ultimately he’ll stay the same but he’ll be less of an ass.


  • (Annoyed) You’re not even worth my time, the lot of you aren’t even worth the energy to insult.


  • That’s it! Just like that, show me why you fight. Make this interesting! What’s the point if our lives aren’t on the line! There isn’t a reason to fight besides fighting itself don’t you agree?


  • (Cockily / Threatening) Coming into my own dojo, assaulting my lackeys, not taking your shoes off at the door? You need to be taught some manners. Ding ding, bitch. School’s in session.
