Chimes - A Kinetic Novel
Project Overview
Chimes is a 5 minute kinetic novel. Its a flash story about 2 brothers during zombie apocalypse.
There are less than 300 spoken words spread across 5 characters. It should take less than 1 hour to record and submit the lines for the character you are casted for.
The deadline for auditions is Wednesday, July 17th 2019 at 5pm MST. I will be casting that night. I will hand out the script along with recording instructions. I expect all voice actors to respond within 24 hours of being cast. I will recast anyone who fails to respond in an appropriate amount of time. I'll be holding a live directing session Friday, July 19th 2019 at 7pm - 9pm MST to hopefully get all the lines completed and submitted before Saturday. This isn't a large project and should be capable of being recorded within a week.
Notes about the project
- There is no swearing in this script.
- This script deals with murder (its the zombie apocalypse)
- Use noise suppression and normalize your audio to -0.1 db. (Audacity is free and it goes a long way to clean up your audition. Google those words if you don't know what they mean.)
- Make sure you aren't clipping. (When your audio gets too loud it will sound distorted, that's clipping.)
- Make sure your audio is dry. (Wet audio is an industry term that means there are room noises in the audio. Like room echo and reverb. Put your mic in your closet with your clothes and it will help produce dry audio by absorbing room echo. Or spend a lot of money on acoustic foam.)
Finally, if you are cast for the audition you will need to have access to discord. You will need to join my discord server. Please have your discord name and number in the description of your audition.
