Project Overview

This is my first time directing a project of such a scale, so please excuse any amateur mistakes or unprofessional behaviors on my part and feel free to tell me if I'm doing anything wrong. Thank you!

── ࣪˖ ࣪ ⊹ ࣪ ˖ ── THE WORLD

In simple terms, some people are possessed by demons. These demons are choosing people to possess in order to make their vessel of choice the King/Queen/Monarch/etc of Hell. The demons drag their vessels down to the Planes of the Demon Realm, matched up to their most prominent/core sin. Then it’s essentially a free-for-all murder spree (there won't be gore though)!

The possessed people (literally) sing their hearts out in order to try and fight the possession.

The series follows 12 humans who've been possessed and brought down to hell, telling their current stories and witnessing past experiences.

There will be 7 main episodes total as of now.

⊹ Each episode will be based around one pillar of hell

It will be uploaded on YouTube as a web series!

  • Project will now be unpaid!

    Up until now, this project has been listed as a deferred payment. However, as much as I would love to compensate the team for their work, I've realized that 1) there's not a big chance of success anyways and 2) it would be hard to find funds for that. Since the series will be uploaded on YouTube, and it has a monetization option, I initially thought that maybe that could provide compensation. After doing further research, however, I've found that it's difficult to earn money from views alone--ads are practically out of the question given the music video vibe, and some channels similar to the niche Cardinal Sins falls under have low RPMs. Another option I thought of was crowdfunding, but from what I've seen, a lot of it requires connections, pushes on social media, and a base audience to start with. Because of this situation and because I don't want to make any false promises, I've decided to change the status to be unpaid.

    TL;DR--this project will now be unpaid due to the lack of a reliable source of funding.

    Feel free to contact me if you 1) have any suggestions for funding options or 2) wish to rescind your audition or something similar.

    I cannot express how sorry I am about this whole ordeal; for the unprofessionalism in both this announcement and the content of it--I'm new to both Casting Call Club as a website and also directing--but thank you for at least showing a little interest in this project, and, once again, sorry for anyone who got their hopes up! I should have done more research on monetization beforehand and set it as unpaid to begin with.

APPEARANCE: Straight black hair that reaches her hips, dull green eyes, once a sharp jade color at birth. Her skin is pale, though she spends a lot of time outside with Rosie gardening, she burns easily in the sun. 

CLOTHES: a slightly looser but corset top, lace off-the-shoulder sleeves, and a knee-length skirt covered by a dress cage. Black roses line the edges of her top, and the entire outfit is pretty much black. Her hair is braided together as one giant loose braid. She wears fishnet stockings and platform boots.

PERSONALITY: Ophelia is known at her school as the ‘loner,’ despite being revered for her beauty. She doesn’t care what others think, and is especially cold to strangers; however, when facing Rosie, her face seems to light up as she chats excitedly. When she has the chance to speak, she can be quite talkative. Rosie is basically her only friend aside from Sylvan who she is also close to. However, he is popular and thus avoids her during school.

VOICE: Strong and slightly rougher, a bit lower than medium pitched. Sometimes, she will be very quiet and other times loud.

BACKGROUND: Ophelia has had a pretty normal childhood thus far, with supportive and encouraging parents. When she started dating Rosie, it took her family a while to adjust to this new information, but they got through it together.

HOBBIES: Ophelia likes to garden with Rosie, something she wouldn’t do by herself otherwise. She knows a ton about plants and enjoys studying various medicinal herb uses. She’s also shockingly good at brewing tea and baking.

DEMON: ???

OTHER: Female | 18 yrs old | 5'5 | Ophelia sunburns easily, as mentioned earlier, so she carries around a sunscreen lotion bottle and a sunscreen spray on her at any given time. She’s a bit careless when gardening so she often has miniscule cuts on her hands.

PERSONALITY: ENTJ | She's a natural born leader, wanting to help those stuck in dark places. She wants to be the hand of salvation, but somehow, for some reason... she can't feel affection to those she's helping. 

VOICE: Velvety and enchanting, yet sweet and mature, like that of a siren's.

BACKGROUND: She is famous in her area for being a wonderful singer, and there have been rumors that she is actually a mermaid; of course, this is not true, but often times Amelia will wear a costume on stage. She's been given the nickname "Amelia la Poisson" affectionately for that. She avoids saying "I love you" because she doesn't want to lie.

(final phrase in her song will probably be "i love you" towards Adeline, but even that isn't true; she only likes her because Adeline is overflowing with love)

HOBBIES: Playing piano | reading ancient texts

DEMON: A siren that values material possessions and luxuries above all else.

APPEARANCE:  

FASHION: Adeline has a dress with long sleeves and knee-length skirt. The sleeves are long and flowy, with slight ruffles at the ends. The skirt has a split with a veiled ruffle section on the right. Her hair is styled with braids on the sides and a flower crown. She also has slight heels with styled tights.

PERSONALITY: Adeline is happy-go-lucky, but this part of her is mostly cast away when she believes her relationship with Casimir is threatened. She hasn’t directly threatened him yet. This ‘other side’ of hers is mostly influenced by her demon.  While they are in a relationship, it sometimes feels too shallow and like Casimir doesn’t really love her sometimes. This ends up causing her to obsess over making sure he remains isolated from others. She ends up believing she has to protect him from anyone who might ‘take him away’.

VOICE: Light and higher-medium, very upbeat and aggressively passive when angy or unchill

BACKGROUND: Adeline comes from a family of higher-ranking people who manage a successful company. Her brother is meant to inherit the company and Adeline, the youngest of three, is left to wander. Her parents and older brother are busy with the company, and her older sister is in jail for grand larceny and arson. Being left to her own devices, her demon convinces her she needs to find someone who will genuinely love her. This becomes the focus of her life. Her fixation on this deprives her from focusing properly and getting a good friend group. She’s had plenty of flings, unsure, but she finds Casimir, convinced she’s finally got the perfect man. 

HOBBIES: She has a lot of social media accounts to promote family stuff.

DEMON: A tall, slender regal figure  with a melting crown and flowing robes. It holds a dagger. Its face is blurred out.

LOVER: Casimir

  • "I am Adeline, Casimir's girlfriend! Don't you dare lay a finger on my little flower bud, or else!" (normal and sweet)

FASHION: Simple but classy, usually wearing a sleek button down shirt and some fancy dress pants. Black framed glasses that fit quite well with his green eyes and brown hair. He's 5’9. 

PERSONALITY: Akachi, due to his childhood, has a closed off personality at first, he likes to keep to himself unless he needs to get something done. Once he opens up, he is an intelligent, sarcastic, but outgoing person (at times he doubts himself) 

VOICE: A medium voice; he likes to try to keep his voice "classy" despite showing sarcasm at times

BACKGROUND: Akachi Young, the youngest of the Young family, was the heir to Young Inc., one of the biggest companies in the world. Although Akachi seemed to live a luxurious life, it was anything but. He was constantly pressured by his father to do well in school and to look good to the public. His brothers hated him for being next in line for the company, and would constantly torture him mentally. Akachi was only allowed to read books, despite his family wealth. He always found comfort in books and believed that with knowledge he would be able to do anything. Then the possessions started and everything went to sh*t. 2 possessed humans killed his family, causing Akachi to lead the scraps that used to be Young Inc. Even though he finally had what he always wanted, he still wanted more -- not particularly selfishly. He makes a deal with a demon which he soon regrets it as it takes advantage of his need for knowledge and past trauma.

HOBBIES: Akachi doesn't have many hobbies but he quite enjoys reading and researching topics he finds interesting. 

DEMON: A powerful demon who has similar ideals to Akachi (knowledge) and is greedy

OTHER: Sometimes Akachi has flashbacks of his childhood and how his brothers tortured him which makes him more vulnerable to the demons' control.

  • "My name is Akachi. My favorite colors are neutrals and I like my coffee black. What do I do in my free time? I... I read." (normal, monotone)

  • "Books aren't the only method of storytelling; there are paintings, songs, or just word of mouth... but they are my still favorite things in the whole world." (happy)

After successfully getting into a group, she meet the love of her life Ae-ri.

Black hair, White eyes, scrawny build which contrasts with his bold and crazy personality. 

FASHION: 

He dresses very formal but also a little messy. For example, A nice button down shirt but not all of the buttons are done. 

PERSONALITY: 

He's very adaptive, and a little crazy…  He seems to be enjoying this whole apocalyptic world… Even though he is crazy, he's actually very smart, which makes him even more impressive. 

VOICE:

Medium-high and very unhinged ( Think of Aven's voice from HSR) 

BACKGROUND: 

Sylvan's more unhinged behavior is actually explained a lot by his past, with being from one of the top Mafia's in the world. From a young age, Sylvan was subjected to sights and horrors no child should ever have to see, but after a while he became numb to it. His parents never were rude nor abusive and he lived a good life ( well, besides for the killing and being apart of the mafia part) until one day his parents were killed by one of the enemy syndicates which caused Sylvan to be forced to take over the mafia. The only people in the world who seemed to care about him now killed, causing him to become crazed and plotting revenge on those who have wronged not only him but his parents also. 

Weaknesses: His physical body strength, even though skilled in assaination he still is very ill bodied when it comes to physical strength. 

HOBBIES: 

Killing… 

DEMON:

The demon is about as crazed as Sylvan is, but is definitely more able bodied when it comes to physical body strength. 

OTHER:

Although a little crazy, he has a soft spot for cute little kittens. 

  • "The name's Sylvan, why don't I show you around? You've got to be new, aren't you? Don't worry, no one will bully you with me around, heh."

APPEARANCE: below

FASHION: Casimir has a less regal look to him, wearing a mix of simple streetwear and traditional polish attire (beanie). His hair isn’t in any specific style, has a slight swoop to the right. He has a few flowers.

PERSONALITY: Casimir is pretty calm and laid back, but being isolated with Adeline does end up making socializing difficult for him (clingy ass gf + pressure). He does genuinely love her, but sometimes he has a nagging feeling that maybe his relationship with herisn’t right.

VOICE: Lower-medium, smooth and soothing/calm. 

BACKGROUND: Casimir grew up in a foster household where he was forced to follow the rules or sit idly by and watch others be abused. He would end up getting adopted by a caring family (although they weren’t that wealthy) and having to work. Working odd jobs since a young age, he’s been working for others constantly, and this, along with his traumatic childhood, develops the mindset that following demands and orders is for the better (such as a better future or his/other’s safety). This becomes a problem later on, both with his demon and with Adeline. His demon constantly makes demands and orders ‘for the better’ or them both, threatening to possess and control him if he won’t comply. Fearful for losing control of the only thing he really has- himself and his future. This fear of not being able to control his fear makes him easy to manipulate. Threats and fears are his main weakness and he doesn’t have much control.

HOBBIES: Casimir enjoys listening to music and plays the piano in his free time.

DEMON: His demon is a faceless, regal looking creature in chains that tends to appear when he dreams or spaces out.

OTHER: Casimir has a few scars on his back and thigh area from being beaten as a child and also is lactose intolerant.

LOVER: Adeline 

  • "I'm Casimir! How have you been? The flowers are in full bloom this time of year. Oh, I'm sorry, I can't see them with you... I have some plans with Adeline."

  • "Adeline, I love you, but I-- I don't know if I can do this anymore! Please, leave me alone for a little, I beg of you." (sad, cracking, kind of shouting)

FASHION: Prefers comfort > style, dresses in more flowy and loose clothing

PERSONALITY: INFP | Shy and quiet, and incredibly socially anxious. She always pushes for a peaceful resolution, and is very emotionally sensitive. She's afraid to stand up for herself, so she often gets bullied and relies on others to help her -- though she hates having to ask others for help. She isn't adept at picking up subtle social cues, but is really smart in other regards; for example, math and logic puzzles.

VOICE: Soft and sweet | Higher in pitch | Often stutters | Always too quiet, even when yelling

BACKGROUND: Bullied at school, until Ophelia stood up for her once. She almost fell in love at first sight, and grew even closer as they started talking more.

HOBBIES: She recently picked up martial arts in an effort to be able to stand up for herself. Otherwise, she loves writing stories and doing logic puzzles like Sudoku.
